Yeah looking back even the announcement in July made it clear this was a continuation of the Avengers cartoon.
Good point there.
I cant believe it. No Storm? But Im sure Storm will show up on at least one episode
All characters involved are MCU-related. Thus, Storm won't be showing up.

Well duh, it’s taking cues from the MCU. Of course Storm isn’t gonna be in it.

Sorry but Storm is gone with the wind.
True, you'd think Brie Lawson would've been a lock. She seemed to be the staple for T'Challa's "i don't trust you!" Avenger frenemy
It was kinda a Good set up for it. It definitely worked better on the animation then it did in Ultimates. That's kinda what I was expecting instead we got WWE chair to the face that, while funny was a huge letdown

On the comics, most Avengers at this point don't really have trust issues with T'Challa. Trust was certainly a big issue in Priests run, but for the most part they're all friends.
In the comics and movies, it's a different matter because they haven't been working side by side with him for decades. So at least initially that's something they can play with a lot more.

Really? You CAN'T believe storm is not in this series?
When there is no reason for her to be?? Cone on now..

Considering it came right after secret wars and TRO. There was plenty of wiggle room for trust Issue's
I think on early interviews that was hinted at as well
Bendis pretty much trapped Luke Cage with Jessica (pregnancy, and then 180 degree change of heart/falling in love) b/c he knew the character would fade into obscurity otherwise. He also tried pushing Jessica/Carol being best friends, which is something maybe 1 writer in the past decade has ever even acknowledged those 2 even know each other, outside of Bendis.
Luke and JJ pretty much became a one-sided nagging fest that did both characters a disservice.
Exactly. They're making Luke Cage more black community, black masculinity and black people... and less about white wives, white best friends and being the token black guy amongst a crowd of white people who you have to ask money for to buy diapers for your kid.
I guess those are the type of creative changes you have to make if you want to market a show to black people lol. :p

Wow, that stinks about the hate site, but I don't think that's why they paired him with Claire.
You can't have a "Luke Cage" show that's keying in on the black demographic but has a titular character that has a white wife, white best friend and hangs around nothing but white coworkers with no black women in sight. And acts like a battered sitcom husband to his white wife who calls him out for being broke, in front of everybody.
Pretty much Luke Cage of the past decade. Just like no mainstream black person (male or female) is trying to see Misty Knight with Iron Fist.
Hence why they preempted Luke with a mixed/black wife before Jessica, then the marketing illusion that Misty was the main love interest in s1. Then making Misty act illogical so that it was crystal clear Misty didn't want him, and not the other way around... and setting up Claire bc Rosario is the bigger actress. Which I think was lame bc Simone Missick fine as hell.
For real, the X characters aren't appearing in anything until those film rights return.
I don't have a problem with Storm but I'm 50-50 on her and BP getting together. Storm is a good character and would make an good spouse for BP and possibly mother of his children. But she comes with way too much baggage from her ties with the X Men. The writers and fans don't like BP with her. There's already boards being made on who Wolverine should get back with (Storm or Jean) since he's returning. When they divorced the characters they immediately put her with Wolverine three months later. She didn't stay single for long but BP hasn't had one love interest since.
With BPs movie about to come he's about to become a black icon. Storm despite being a good character has been "whored" out (kissing and sex) by the X writers with non black men. All that is part of her history and it kinda degrades her character as a black woman, black queen and possible black icon. If BP would've had a non black woman on his arm he would be attacked by more racist and black women but that would never happen with Storm. Storm currently in her world of the X men is being lead by Kitty Pryde and barley gets anything better than just causing a thunderstorm. She has been portrayed as light skinned and given minimal screen time in the X movies. The X writers want her on the team but nothing more. If people want Storm and BP together, the X fans and writers need to get on board if not she must go back to them. BP can survive without her but can she become more than just being a token without him?
Real As It Gets,I'm 5-95, 95 being I hope to never ever see her show up in anything BP related ever again..

just so you know:
It's killing me i can't tell you anything about the show.
