For the record
Deadpool
He has gone with out a solo only 5 years and during that time he was a COLEAD in a book with Cable.
He is now in year 10 of him with a book where he is the LEAD or COLEAD.
He got his first solo 2 years after he was introduced.
His first ongoing came in year 6.
He has 16 video game appearances
2 feature film & 1 short film
1 book at top 100 seller on Amazon
Spinoffs-MErcs, volume 2 for Solo, Slapstick & Foolkiller, Gwenpool, Ms Deadpool, Deadpool Pilp. Deadpool Corps, Deadpool kills somebody to name a few.
All of this in only 27 years of being around. With the following biggest names writing him Fabian Nicieza, Rob Liefeld, Gerry Duggan & Gail Simone. With the biggest name someone who does not read comics would know-Brian Posehn (Big Bang Theory).
Black Panther
1st lead solo 7 years after introduction
1st lead in a book under his name was in year 11
Was the first to have Marvel's first graphic novel
No new solo book for 19 years.
First mini was 22 years later.
Prestige mini was 24 years later
Priest's run through Mayberry run gave Panther the SECOND longest running solo for a black hero as a SOLO lead (Spawn is the leader) of 13 years
16 video game appearances
20 books at various times top 100 sellers on Amazon
1 tv show
1 feature movie
1 movie starring his "son"
Spinoffs include BP WOW, BP The Crew, Wakanda Forever, Rise of Panther, Shuri volume 1 & 2, Storm vol 2, Panther Prelude
Biggest names to write him-Priest, Hudlin, McDuffie, Hickman, Eric Jerome Dickey and lesser point-Coates. Biggest names to write him that a noncomic book person would know-Redjack under his real name, Coates, Dickey, McDuffie & Hudlin.
He is 52 years old. 31 years we have gone with Panther as a lead or with a book.
The MAJOR difference between Deadpool and Panther is TIME.
Deadpool is where he is at because he was built up over TIME. A lot of the stuff with Panther has happened over the last 3 years or in the 2000s.
Deadpool is a study of how to build up over time and taking RISKS.
Panther is a study of this is what happens when you DON'T invest or realize what you have. And taking advantage of your competition. Panther's buildup came when no one else not named Miles Morales was around. Panther was that hunger for black lead books that so many tried or didn't try hard enough to fill.
So when we saw we need to see more form Marvel-we mean that. Panther is filling that void and hunger. Nd it's time to milk it before someone named Virgil O Hawkins or Finn or Robert Simmons shows up to ruin the party.

What's funny is that Batman's status as a badass was only in the last 25-30 years, not his entire 80 year existence as some would have you believe.
Deadpool like Black Panther came out badass from day one. They sustained that with Deadpool.
They saddled Black Panther with Noble Negro Syndrome and gave him pyrrhic victory after pyrrhic victory.
Priest ended that crap followed by Hudlin and Liss.
Then here comes Coates and all that hard work gets dumped for a T'Challa filled with so much weak sauce that he pisses lemon water with cucumber.

This make no sense. Marvel knows what they have in Black Panther. They just don't want to push Black panther too hard because they are bias and don't want Black Panther to get to big.

In the spirit of SDCC week...
Wakanda.
Warrior Falls.
Elders, tribal leaders and even personal assistants that weren't currently parking cars were all in attendance.
Redjack stood ankle deep in water with an ink pen, notepad and portable laptop in hand.
Zuri: "I Zuri son of Badu now offer a path to the Pointman!"
X-office: "Tee-hee... The X-office will not challenge today!"
Brian Michael Bendis: "I no longer work for Marvel so uhm... I will not challenge today!"
Christopher Priest: "I'm done writing black super heroes and want to write other ethnic characters that are not black so I will not challenge today!"
Reginald Hudlin: "Naw, been there done that I will not challenge today!"
Stan Lee: "EXCELSIOR... I'm just here for the obligatory cameo so I will not challenge today!"
Zuri: "Is there anyone with writing talents that wishes to challenge for the rights of Pointman?"
Just then a tribe of TNC Faithful fall all off in da club marching in single file and chanting...
TNC Faithful: "WASSUP... WASSUP... WASSUP..."
Zuri: "TNC what are you doing here?"
TNC: "It's challenge day!"
TNC removes his Harsh Lesson  mask and addresses the crowd...
TNC: "I have trolled and lurked from the shadows, I know you diehard Black Panther fans want to hand the intellectual property over to this cartoon writer but we will not have it... I said we will not have it!"
TNC turns to face Redjack and stares him down menacingly...
TNC: "I... T-N-C..."
Redjack: "I accept your challenge T-N-C!"
As the two combatants square off the anxious crowd stars throwing popcorn, various Wakandan produce, heart shaped herb salad greens and Super Soaker squirt guns at TNC who magically trips and awkwardly tumbles over the edge of the falls.
Zuri: "Okay then... Moving right along I present to you the Pointman!"
After everybody and they momma does the traditional right over left arm "Wakanda Forever" salute the HOTTEST Doras in da game rush to Redjack and start rubbing his back and massaging his... AHEM, let's just fade to black right here!
Epilogue: Late night as cleanup crews sweep up kinte cloth confetti A lone figure with long white hair flowing in the wind stands at the edge of the falls blue eyes looking downward at the rapidly moving river below.
Storm: "Come back to me!"
Redjack for Pointman!!!

I clicked on it (Mantis dad, the whole "M" thing fit me).
Funny you posted this Flex; the first (and only charity) I ever gave too was in Washington D.C. in 1983 at the McDonald's on Georgia Ave. The young lady handing me my McMuffin at 7:30 am asked me if I want to donate to the "United Negro College Fund". I just stared at her (crazy white guy stare), and she smiled a beautiful smile and held up a poster. She said; "If you do, you get this poster of Pam Grier (in a bikini)!" Of course!! I said. :)
Only thing I don't like about this video is the singing of old christian hymns. If you know me, I hate when a race or culture, push their damn religion on other people.
The fights in Panther were too "human". I don't want that. I want something more akin to what Redjack and the newly animated Panther series is giving us. THAT is the Black Panther that Kirby created. Not some peak human cap level wolverine. There also needs to be more arts in the martial arts they are giving us. Bushmaster in Luke Cage had better moves for some reason.
I cannot express how excited I am that this new Black Panther cartoon seems to truely understand and respect the character. I can't wait to see what's in store. First bit of GREAT news for Panther himself in a long time.
The comments about Deadpool is on the money. The comments about Black Panther is not on the money. It's not taking into account the bias way Marvel treats Black Panther.
