Yeah. I think that's Shuri's job now.

That doesn't mean T'Challa can't have a genius tech feat

I think it will be made by Shuri. That's what they showed in BP.
Well, like Ezyo said, this shouldn't preclude T'Challa's technological genius from being displayed in BP2.
It's at times like this that I wonder why Coogler opted to downplay T'Challa's status as a super genius?
Afterall, it's not as if Tony Stark has been similarly nerfed or diminished as an established genius in his solo or Avengers based movies.

It would be cool to see T'Challa do it. I'm not saying I don't want it to happen, but it SEEMS that that is Shuri's talent now.
I suspect he's referring to the movies. :D
That makes sense. The # was throwing me off.
Priest's solution was... unique. Suffice it to say that there's a perfectly valid reason why the characterization doesn't fit what came before or after in publication order.
I'm not convinced it fits in with that story, though. It's something worth thinking about some more, though.

Sometimes past old continuity should just be ignored.
Happy Pants was never a personal favorite of mine.
I don't think Hudlin did, to my knowledge, but he did obviously reference other parts of Kirby's run. It's been a long time since I've read Priest's "Happy Pants Panther" story, but I'd love to see how well it really fits.
Yeah, Kirby was a self professed fan of Kirby.

I imagine it'll be similar to the first BP movie. They do reference that he does have some skills in this regard as well... but it's more Shuri's thing. She's the smartest person in the world.

Likely because he wanted the supporting cast to actually matter, and looking at it. Each female support has a specific role. Okoye is the badass, fierce and stoic greatest fighter in wakanda second only to T'Challa. Nakia, the worldly spy abd love interest who is not a damsel in distress, and Shuri the wise cracking super genius.
T'Challa is still the badass warrior, king, genius, and such. He just isn't the only one

But one has to question why?

The nice thing about Shuri's development is that she doesn't just stand out on the BP supporting cast, but in the whole MCU. She's not just the smartest person in the BP movie ... she's the smartest person in the world.
That gives her potential play even outside the BP movies.
