Using a character that already exists is better then trying to come up with brand new characters that will be forgotten once the writer leaves, I Coates creations gays creations, the pet Characters in long live the king.. where they engaging? Exciting?? Nakia should come back because there is exposure and a chance to redeem the character. It's Just Like BPs gear. Things get added and dropped so often that he doesn't have a standard geat set. So the solution is to take things he had existing and bring it back not add more stuff or the same thing under a different name
Wait, are you saying characters that exist in movies have a better chance of sticking around? Tell that to Dr. Selvig, who has pretty much appeared in the same books as Everett K. Ross recently. I would argue the romantic lead in a Black Panther book tends to have a lot of inertia. Monica stayed forever. Obviously, Storm is still appearing.

I haven't been a fan of coates run so far but I'm choosing to be optimistic about the relaunch. With all the shake ups, he has to have a good reason for staying on. The new direction is exciting, I can only hope he brings his A game. Also hope Acuna does every issue. There's nothing more jarring than seeing art style changing every three or so issues.
Yeah, but it goes back to the idea that if you need to completely change the character then you might as well use a different character.
If you're basically approaching a story with the idea that you can completely ignore previous characterization and change a character however you want to fit your story, then characterization becomes meaningless. It won't matter if you're using Nakia or not because it's no longer Nakia.
Oh yes Dr selvig was such a Interesting Character and had so much depth. No way was he pretty much exposition dump.. Nakia actually had substance. Coogler used Characters that actually appear in BPs World save Njobu and simply modernized them. M'Baku, Nakia, Okoye and Shuri even could benefit from adopting some traits from their MCU counterparts. They have actual substance.
And Monica the damsel in distress got old quick

If Coates turned the origin of Wakanda into an allegory for white colonization then what makes you think he’s ever gonna change? At this point Coates is Lucy, him writing a competent T’Challa is the football, and fans expecting him to get his act together are Charlie Brown.

Considering the number of changes and retcons Coates has applied to T'Challa and his supporting thus far, I find this assertion somewhat laugh out loudable.
Do Coates Aneka or Shuri bear any resemblance to the characters they were prior to his run?

Yeah, the idea of a space empire is interesting.
However, Coates has shown no interest in Afro-Futurism, has yet to show Wakanda or BP in any positive light and will likely use this as another opportunity to show what's wrong with BP and Wakanda.

BCB, some people were against Wakanda exploring space but are now on board with a Wakandan Galactic Empire.
If Coates were to intro a movie version of Nakia in the comics, attitudes would change there as well since because.

MCU Nakia wasn't a modernized version of the character. It was a completely different character which had absolutely nothing in common with the comic version except the name.

For my personal opinion on the matter... I was never against the idea of Wakanda exploring space. I was simply arguing that them having a galactic empire didn't entirely make sense. And I still don't believe that them having a galactic empire at this point would make sense. But obviously I haven't read the story yet. If Coates comes up with a viable explanation as to why there's a Wakandan galactic empire, then it's a non issue.
From the sound of the description T'Challa doesn't know about it and it's supposed to be a mystery, so presumably there's some sort of explanation for it. But we'll see.

Many valid explanations were given on why Wakanda would explore space and establish colonies.
Coates took it one step further and created the Galactic Wakandan Empire.
I gave my theory on how that could happen as well.

The Black Nick Fury in the comics is nothing like the character SLJ plays.
Daisy Johnson is nothing like the Skye/Quake from the TV show.
The Thor comics ignored every single thing the movies did with the supporting cast.
The closest thing you got to movie/comics aligning is the occasional costume/appearance change and being Loki a good looking anti-hero (frankly in the movies
Loki's not even a anti hero yet).
Oh there was that AGENTS OF SHIELD book that used the T.V. cast that failed outright and never gets referenced, so it might as well never have happened.
The comics people will never be beholden to the movie versions of the MU. Why should they be? At this point we have like 20 years of knowing that what the movies do
in the box office doesn't change anything at the LCS.
And frankly, repurposing Nakia and/or Ross now might backfire badly given that the whole point of Priest's story in the anniversary issue was to
spotlight the characters that he directly created.
Priest goes "Hey, that mine".
Marvel then goes "Not really, no."

Like I said, speaking about my own opinion I certainly don't think any explanation is even needed for space exploration. Countries in the real world do that, so no reason Wakanda couldn't or wouldn't. But a Galactic Empire is something different... it's a very big step in a very small amount of time, and that requires some explanation on the part of the writer. The descriptions do imply that there's a mystery here, so I'm sure an explanation of some sort will be given. Again, if T'Challa himself doesn't know about it then clearly something is going on here.

Judging by black Nick Fury and Hope Wasp, if the comics feel the need to create the illusion of synergy they'll create a new character rather than completely overhall an existing one. And I say the illusion of synergy rather than actual synergy because like you said, black Nick Fury in comics really isn't that similar to the MCU version.
So yeah... if Coates (or whoever) wanted to create some MCU synergy he could do the same thing and create some new character named Nakia I guess. I'm not a huge fan of that sort of thing, as that sort of thing tends to feel very forced (like black comic Nick Fury jr. and Hope), but it's preferable to completely changing an existing character into something completely unrecognizable than her former self I suppose.

Pretty much. I mean there is no reason to think he would have a Change of heart unless he was so moved by the movie it inspired him to show a competent Tchalla. I mean, we are almost done with season 2 of his bp run, on top of Bp Crew, and there is nothing of worth noting feat wise that Tchalla himself has done. Evan's needed 2 issue (since the first was about Tchaka) to show more feats and a more competent Tchalla then Coates entire stint, and Evans did it like a natural. It shows the difference between someone who cares and someone who doesn't give a frak about the character and only cares about the agenda they can push
