Is that a recycled Jack Kirby image?
You know you just picked out a certain look for some Africans, the majority don't look like that. Africans don't have a particular look the same way Europeans don't have a particular look it varies with the region.
The Stelfreeze blacker thing is weird.

I took it as in T'Challa will have spent a whole lot of his life out in the sun which in Africa is a given, a big problem in comics is when it comes to people of color drawn in comics the lighter the skin tone the better which is problematic as hell( see Sunspot & M )

I lived in Nigeria for thirteen years and I'm light complectioned. But then again, most people from my specific ethnic group tend to be light complectioned.
However, I do understand where Stelfreze is coming from.
Thanks mate, likewise about yours!
Yeah, I can see when it becomes a problem. It's just that between Millar's run, the old wacky inventions, Triumph and Torment and all the rest, he has a lot of feats to support this whole "unbeatable man" icon. But it's that it's starting to become quite tiresome. Doom should be used once every 3 years or so. He can still make appearances and whatnot, but he should be reserved for only certain stories. Otherwise, each writer tries to top the last, and you're left with a Gary Stu and not a great character. And I say that as a big Doom fan. Bottom line is, he should be in the top tier, but the constant upgrades are beggining to leave a bad taste.
Well, he's going to be spending some time in the Bendis Circle of Hell, so I guess that's an appropriate punishment.
I know, right? More often than not when prep's involved someone will surely say that Reed can totes hand Thanos his ass. Honestly, the intellectual fan-wanking of Reed/Doom/Stark is reaching Storm levels. It's not quite there yet, because they still have the sense to not proclaim that Reed can beat the Void with no prep (I've seen Stormers debate that she could beat a full-power Void...), but yeah, there's certainly a problem in the intellect ranking.
I love Marc but realistically he shouldn't win against the Panther. T'Challa has probably studied and mastered every martial art known to man, is smarter and a better tactician. Marc has studied quite a lot as well, considering he was a boxer, a CIA Agent and a merc, but I doubt he's nowhere near as fluent in them. But he is highly pain resistant and due to his powers/mind over matter, he could take the win. He could just take all the punishmen, then use some his abillities (he's even displayed some form of telepathy once or twice if I'm not mistaken) to take the win. It's possible, but until he gets better feats, unlikely. The only areas that Marc has the upper hand are: Pain resistance (dude got his legs broken, stabbed countless times and still beat the hell out of Taskmaster) and probably Telepathy Resistance (guy's so crazy even Jean Grey backed off after going inside his brain). Again, it depends on whether you take his "powers" into consideration.
Honestly, I'm really hoping that a BP/MK team-up happens again. They're both normal men acting as the Avatars of Egyptian Gods. Plus, one's dressed in all black and the other in all white, which, in the hands of the right artist, would make for some killer panels (e.g. T'Challa's costume blending in the shadows and MK's standing out, or Marc's fading in the bright sunlight and T'Challa's "taking over" the page). Throw in a story about Bast & Khonshu sending them on a hunt to take down rogue Avatars and here's your premise. The story basically writes itself!
PS; I'm so pumped for both of them appearing in Avengers: Assemble next season. The show is kinda bad, but the prospect of them teaming up again is awesome (both their markers are located in Africa, so I think there's a high chance we'll see them interact at least)!
In a more perfect world I think Doom would be used similar to Thanos... he'd be an event villain.
The reason he's used as much as he is (and at times is overused) is sadly because he's one of the few villains with any real cred. So when a writer wants to do something BIG they use Doom. Because he's one of the few villains with enough cred to make us believe he can actually win even though we KNOW in the back of our minds he won't. Doom, like Thanos is a villain that to a degree is protected... and that makes him valuable as a character. If more villains were given the similar treatment (though not necessarily to the same degree) Doom wouldn't have to be used so much and his appearances would be feel more special.
As far as Moon Knight and Black Panther... I've often thought those were the two visually coolest super heroes. As a kid I became a fan of them just by looking at them, before I read any of their stories (because really there weren't a whole lot of BP or MK stories out there to read). It's a weird coincidence that they ended up being characters who have a weird sort of connection with the Egyptian gods. It's a shame they don't do more together. I think their team up in Priests book was pretty much it.
If i'm interpreting what they mean by make 'blacker', i can see and agree with the underlining thought of it... but i honestly feel it's been a bigger issue with black women, particularly in outside media like tv shows and movies where in non-black productions they'll commonly cast a light skinned biracial woman to play a black woman or as a love interest to a black male character. As much of a bone as we (myself included) could pick with Marvel in how Storm, Monica Rambeau, and maybe even Misty Knight and other black women have been (under)utilized in recent years, lightening them up isn't an issue that i've seen in the comics. I actually think artists have been pretty good and consistent in that front.
I don't feel they even needed to bring it up tbh (reminds of the Carol "short hair" thing), as it's not like T'Challa has been out here looking like J-Cole or Steph Curry. If anything, he's just been more Denzel toned than Wesley Snipes... and I'm Afrikan myself and my complexion is more Denzel, like my mom, whereas my sister is darker, like my dad. So i'm down with whichever. I also like that they're givin him some afrikan civies too lol
Whatever gave you the impression I was dwelling on anything?
You made a comment that a few other posters picked up on but I suppose that the inherent problem in your original question is an ironic one that escapes you.
I'll stop then. The more I explain the more misinterpretations arise.
My apologize.

While I wouldnt put the label of "normal" on either man, I would be hyped for their team up.

No worries.
There was no malice intended in your original post.
It just came across awkward. :)

It's mostly the fault of the writers though. They just can't or don't want to, build up a new and interesting villain other than Doom. Red Skull is a caricature, Sinister does nothing but obsess over Summers and make clones, Apocalypse is practically a joke nowadays, Galactus is used as a jobber, etc, etc. There just aren't any other great villains out there, so we're essentially stuck with Doom. But I do think that Zemo will be becoming the new 'Doom' in the coming years. Their backgrounds are similiar, their goals as well, plus they both have hideous faces, are smart and wear ridiculous but bad-ass clothes. After CW hits, I'm sure his star is going to be on the rise, and, frankly, I'd be okay with that. Zemo is a great character.
I know, right? Personally I got to know MK through MUA, and BP through their team-up during the Priest run. So in my mind, they're even more "interconnected" than in reality. Either way a team-up has to happen again, it's just a matter of finding the right creative team.

Nah, there have definitely been instances in the comics where Storm has been made to look much lighter than she was originally shown as being and her high cheekbones are continually removed by artists.
T'challa in regular clothes is weird lol its canon that he doesn't like being out of costume

Im not gonna lie
it does look cool lol
I might actually get that when it gets released. Its just that having him always in the jungle makes him look like Tarzan or Ka-zar which is how the general public will see him as but nevertheless, its still badass

Well actually genetically Africans are like the most ethnically diverse group in appearance we are the first and true humans after all with none of that messy Neanderthal dna.
