Yeah Black Panther x Nakia is really good ship. She is obviously beautiful, stylish, queenly, but also a physical threat as well.
"Depends on how fast we finish the mission"
T'challa froze up again after that quip lol

The vocabulary they used was impressive to not resort to swearing.
As Queen Nakia's #1 fan for months now, I couldn't be more pleased with how Coogler and Lupita worked the character. "Don't freeze"... "I never freeze"... "He froze" :p will live on in romcom eternity lol
"Nakia,............ummmm."
Let's step back for a minute, look back over the past few years and think on this.
In hindsight, did Marvel break up the marriage between T'Challa and Storm to better position him for a solo movie? Was this their plan all along?
Many of us were particularly upset with not only the marriage ending but how it ended. It was a bitter break-up between two iconic Black characters that divided fan bases.
Some were happy, same were mad and then some became in different. They both took different paths with Marvel seemingly losing focus with BP and Storm returning to the X-Men with much joy by fans but little done with her.
Then BP becomes an integral part of one of the biggest storylines in Marvel history, raising his profile again. No matter if people liked what Hickman did or not, T'Challa was getting major play and took his place among his peers.
Rumors of movies swirled. Next a breakout performance in Civil War followed by a successful launch of a solo series(don't twist this into thinking I like Coates' handling of BP).
Could Marvel have pulled this off with a married BP and Storm in the comics? Did Marvel's separation of BP/Storm pave the way for his blockbuster movie?
Just a random thought.

Considering marvel put them back together just before the movie came out, I don't think they believe the marriage was a detriment to the movie.
I do think marvel not having access to the Fox properties at the time might have been a factor, but that seems moot at this point.

The movie had already been in the works prior to them getting back together and they are not married now. Marvel might be okay with them dating but may not have wanted a married T'Challa when the movie came out.

Yeah, I think it's a fair point to create a distinction between them being in a relationship and them actually being married.
I do think you can make an argument that the marriage potentially is restrictive. Them just dating sort of gives them a little more flexibility to go a different route if needed. So yeah... maybe it's fair to say marvel felt the marriage was detrimental, just not the relationship.

Plus Coates said he ain’t even interested in them being married again. Which I think works, because should they decide to end their relationship again at least they can do it in a more respectful way this time.

Ironically enough, the relationship they are currently in now could potentially pave the way for some kind of on-screen relationship in the future.
With the X-Men in the fold of the MCU, we should pay attention to how the comics plays out their relationship, not just in the BP books but elsewhere. If we see acknowledgement of a relationship outside of BP and particularly in the X-books, there's a chance that we will see some kind of interaction in the movies.
However, Nakia seems to be holding down the fort in that regard.

I don't think Coates is interested in anything long term with these two. He's prepping for his Storm solo.
Who would have thought M'Baku would become a fan favorite character.
Like a lot of us were saying here, the suit and name really hindered a pretty cool character.

I do think Black Panther is potentially a very key character as far as bridging both the X-Men and the Fantastic Four to the current MCU. In the comics at least T'Challas best super hero friend is Reed (I always preferred it to be Steve but that's a whole other thing), and his present girlfriend is Storm. If to some degree that's replicated in the MCU, it potentially means he can show up in their movies and vice versa.
So there's a lot to potentially play with there, if they choose to.

Under Priest at least, you could see a pretty cool character. And even Hudlin had a little fun with him, when he was invited to T'Challa's wedding.
I think the moral of the story being there's no such thing as bad characters... just badly written character. He's an important part of the mythos, and incorporating him simply meant scrapping a bit of the cheese off of him.

I really hope they take cues from the film if they bring him back in the comics. It's cool to see a character that is a genuine rival to the hero without being a villain. M'Baku was fantastic as someone who is feared and respected but isn't evil.
