I wonder if they could get Priest as a consultant of some kind.
The Hughes bros. have done action, Singleton's done action.
Reg hasn't yet as far as I know (unless you want to count the B.P. animation).
Besides, I figure he's gonna be working on Milestone projects for the time being.
What action movies did the Russo Brothers direct before they were handed the keys to Captain America:Winter soldier and the post-Whedon Avengers projects?
I'm calling you out BCB! When are you going to come on over to Age of Marvels?
My enthusiasm isn't what it use to be but for you, I'll make the effort.

Yep. That directing duo made no since at the time
then... holy **** did they make a GREAT action movie. Best fight scenes at Marvel.

Agreed 100%.
And yet, for some unknown reason whenever Reginald Hudlin's name is mentioned in connection with the BP movie the fact that he hasn't directed action movies keeps being mentioned.
Sorry, but nah.
I don't just want a "talented" director. Craft alone isn't going to make a great BP film. I want a talented and conscious director. That is what made Selma transform from a problematic screenplay to an Oscar contender.
And unfortunately, when it comes to the consciousness I'm talking about, more likely it's coming from a black director.
This **..........

There are a lot of experienced directors who suck eggs. And they keep getting work.

Didn't say he was a bad Director. Said he hadn't done action flicks before, to my knowledge.
The dudes I mentioned have.

True, but that shouldn't be a deterrent to him being considered. The aforementioned Russo Bros are prime examples.
I'd like to see maybe Grievioux and Hudlin.
Edit. I'm not caping just adding a different perspective.
Totally unrelated: how many books is SW going to have?
Currently, including the main series, as well as the Last Days titles (which are essentially the conclusion of some series), there's 53 announced by my count. Some are minis, some are ongoing, some haven't been determined which. Based off of the Battleworld map, I'd guess there's about another 5-6 titles yet to be announced. Maybe more if there are more minis planned.
EDIT: And not counting the main series or last days, it's 45 new titles.

As others have said, the Russos didn't have anything in their resume other than the paintball episode on Community that showed they were the right fit for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. So I'd be okay with a director that maybe doesn't have the resume but the vision. So Hudlin's definitely on the board for me. I think having a black director is important for the film. I mean, I can hear the Honest Trailers guy now, "Marvel Studios' Black Panther... brought to you by all these white guys." That isn't to say that we're lacking in white directors who could knock it out of the park. But I cannot believe that there are no black directors that are up to the task. And it's Marvel's responsibility to find that talent. Hell, it should be what they want since, due to some of the attitudes in Hollywood, they can likely keep talented black directors around longer. And that's probably the tamest way I can say any of that.
I hear you bro, but after awhile all the caping for scraps from the table gets tedious to observe.

You are like an unexpected, but welcomed, splash of ice cold water to the face, thus enabling a fellow to come back into reality.
I thank you.

He only crafted stories to show his love for the character.....and not crafting stories to show love for other characters at BP's expense......

Well, the Russos did enough genre stuff as parody shows within a show on Community that it made Marvel think they could do a whole movie like that.
They have gone the other way too. The guy that directed the first Cap movie also directed the Rocketeer- a similar period piece.
If I was doing the choosing i'd look for guys who had useful prior experience in the target genre (that Ridley Scott directed Legend only tells me not to let Ridley Scott anywhere near fantasy-not useful).
That is not a knock on anybody.
I wouldn't get Del Toro to do any kind of comedy either ( and comedy's harder to pull off then drama anyway).
as does constant complaint brotha
The Bp flims should have a black/ Afrikan director imo aswell..
Why?....This is a Marvel movie. I get the need in some of the genre's but Superhero's are different. As long as the director gets the politics of it and doesn't water T'challa down I don't see the need to make it an all black production.
