I find it tiresome that EVERY DAMN TIME a book is launched with at black character people immediately start talking about if it'll be canceled or not.
Stop putting these books on death watch. There are book that are WAY more niche than Black Panther that don't immediately spark discussions about cancellation.
I find it highly unlikely that this BP book will ever be cancelled.
Marvel have a lot riding on its success.
True, I'd definitely take the time to shift through some of it to play catch up, although probably not too in-depth as i could see myself just getting ticked off with some of the hate being thrown.
I don't follow x-men too closely but always felt storm had been a bit underutilized and kinda wallpaper status to certain x-characters (namely the ScottvsLogan/Emma/Jean/Xavier/Magneto assemble) so i guess that probably surprises me the most with whatever fierce backlash there was to her being shared. i figure it'd give more storytelling opportunities and an explainable out for her lack of involvement by x-writers that seemingly preferred to keep the leadership of the x-men Cyclops-centric. but i digress
Prior to my discovering pre-reboot CBR, I was a fully paid up X-verse fan.
The horrific anti T'Challa/Wakanda posts I encountered over on the X-boards soon disabused me of that notion.
The anti-marriage vitriol was that bad.
I've never looked back since. :smh:

I heard coates talking about continuing on past the first arc so i have confidence he will be on it for atleast another arc. Im glad they are going in "seasons" rather then cancelling a comic midway through, atleast that way it gives some closure in a way to whats is going on.

Not sure if this is the apocalypse wars variant but it is dope

never mind its not
It isn't on death watch. It has a confirmed 11 issues and ends like all books now.
Wandering if Coates will keep doing comics is a valid discussion and not putting BP on deathwatch.
Blame Marvel and it's marketing strategy for embracing "seasons". If you start out by admitting that everything is set up to last no longer than 12 issues, what are readers supposed to think?
Of course, a bunch of these books that Marvel put out as part of All-New-All-Different didn't even MAKE 12 issues.
No surprise there.
Seriously, what were they thinking giving Starbrand and Nightmask a book?

With the right writer attached any book has a chance to soar.
Dope cover, but why they got King T'Chaka looking like grandpapi?
That's what I was thinking aswell... I really like this cover ( I really love his art style in general) , but at same time I Dnt likes it for a few reasons..
1. If that is T'Chaka I've always preferred him (when drawn ) with longer hair (Locs, braids and etc) vs a standard hair cut..
2. Not sure if it's T'Chaka or S'Yan or Azzari the Wise in the image (more likely then not it's T'Chaka) But the image makes me think Azzari more so then T'Chaka.. If it is T'Chaka it makes him look to old imo
3. A lot of artist have the habit or dawning T'Chaka The Great simply as a some what bigger older looking T'Challa (weather buy using greying/ grey hair and or wrinkles or both ) VS his own character design, which why I really like when artist give him more individuality design (besides taller gery T'Challa).. I like the grey hair cut look for S'Yan Azzari..
4. Can't tell imo if is N'Yami or Ramonda or Nanali.. More then likely it's Sopposed to N'Yami but that doesn't make sense in sorry because she died during his birth.. In my on personal head canon it will be T'Challa grandparents Azzari and Nanail...
Mhm. People today shit on Priest when they weren't around for the environs. As annoying as the social justice aspect of character promotion might be to some today, there's a level of acceptance and diversity that just wasn't realistic a decade or two ago.
Exactly.
And now Ross is a movie character, played by a acclaimed actor....I think Ross is going to be a hit and T'challa about to blow up.

That's just for the first season. It's already been confirmed by Axel that he's still on the book past the first arc and Coates even tweeted that he's in the planning stages of season 2.

Both Priest and Hudlin books were scheduled with a ending between 6-12 issues. Both books went on after...Marvel has a lot riding on Panther. Àfter Civil War, his star is going to be a whole lot bigger

You might be onto something my bro.

They did a good job with this character in the infinity game. Not sure about the laughing force push on enemies but the character is really cool here

IIRC, Priest was stunned that his series had been continued, only finding out when his editor asked for the script for issue 13.
Well planned, Marvel!

Every damn book that comes out these days is subject to a 'death watch'. In the old days, no one expected a non X book to make it past 10. These days, it's an Avengers book, the closer connected to the main series, the better.

I'm probably really late with this question, but concerning events after Doom War...
...where in the hell was Ramonda?!
She basically witnessed it all, including the flooding of Wakanda, the eventual fallout between T'Challa and Shuri, both of them making up, plus the eventual destruction of Wakanda.
Plus, who knows what T'Challa may have confided to her? She and T'challa were always very close.
Maybe that's why Coates really wants her around in his story.
