He said he did have plans but they were torpedoed by Namor's death.
I doubt they'really completely toroedoed. Namor doesn't seem to be staying dead long. A story with them interacting can still work down the line. Both nations having recent problems might actually make it easier for them to bury the hatchet.

I wish they'd bury the hatchet if for no other reason to give T'Challa another king to hang around with. He has too few peers as is.
-
Yup. A crappy story ruined a good marriage and a good alliance. They may not have been best bros but they had mutual respect, one of the few people Namor did respect.
Yea Storm and T'Challa together was nothing but positive for both characters, it's not like Storm was getting much spotlight for anything, and as soon as she went back to xmen she got wallpapered

Yeah, the whole thing Priest set up with Marvel Kings having some sort of working relationship together was pretty cool. I wish we could have seen more done between Doom, Namor and T'Challa before the stuff from Dark Reign through AvX completely dismantled all of it. But maybe down the line they'll all be on better terms. We'll see.

Thats assuming T'challa keeps the crown and that it has weight behind it
Right now, T'challa is the last Earth king standing. Namor is headless. Doom is Iron Man v2, Genosha/Utopia/whatever doesn't really exist, BB got the throne taken from him

Voodoo
Moon Knight
or some **** like that. About the same power level, gets rid of useless Misty (she is way over her head with this group) and ex wife lectures and glances.

Those who can make it should be in for a treat. Wasn't expecting McGregor to participate.

Alita Martinez is an artist for the upcoming World of Wakanda.
I'm assuming Marvel will have James Iglehart the stage actor, but I could be way off on that one.

Can Coates resist not having Storm take shots? But she really doesn't need to since Coates has already given T'Challa a few head shots and body blows.

It would be nice if they could just have a conversation without stupid sh*t, they have been broken up long enough that they should be able to move on, Though realistically i would prefer a different line up as there isn't much between T'challa and Misty in terms of workign together so i would replace her.
Voodoo and Blade would be cool, or Ultimate Nick Fury

If they did do a Crew title, what would these heroes reasons to stay together? T'Challa brought them in to help deal with the villains behind the rebellion in Wakanda. What would be the motivation for them keep being a team and what would they focus on as their cause? As much as people like this line up, how long would this title last?

Maybe its "the other heroes are idiots so we will do this ourselves" sort of thing post SW?
No idea how you would explain it, especially for the "omg T'challa left Wakanda for 5 minutes" crew members.
Honstly, I don't give a ****, I just want super hero ****

Yeah but if this book is gonna last more than 6 issues, it better have a heckuva hook going.
Btw, I see your location. We're in the same boat. Stay safe.

Thats a good point unless Panther has entered A-list status and can drag the others up. I can't tell if Ultimates is being carried by BP/Carol fans or if its collective
Luckily im on the panhandle. Had to deal with Hermine but that was much much much smaller than Mathew. But... it was the first hurricane to hit here in like 20 years I was told so the town was stil l a mess

The book will last as long as it sells well.
But ideally there should be some sort of reason or this particular group to work together. A couple of them are already part of other teams, so it's not like they are lacking in back-up of that's all this was really about.
I suppose it could be as simple as them deciding to occasionally work together publically so that the black community and general public can see black role models or whatever occasionally working together publically. Their appearance in Sam's book sort of implied that was the reason they came together.
-
Misty's super power is being fiyone as hell. So on one hand that does make her completely useless, on the other hand Natasha Romanoff Johannson gets by just fine with that super ability.. so idk. She'll be alright.
Storm... lol...
Manifold... i mean... i gotta see more of him than being a better version of Cloak. But he's cool.
Cage is cool. B/c he's like the jock bro.
Blade would be awesome. B/c he's a dick

I'm north of you in GA. It's going to hit very close.
I think the team and the concept is carrying Ultimates. Having recognizable names like BP and Carol help.
This team would have to operate like Secret Warriors, in the shadows, dealing with political isht. Going into places where the bright shiny heroes can't go. Dealing with straight up villains and doing what needs to be done.

If a book with T'Challa, Blue Marvel, America Chavez, Monica and Carol can average 25k sales a month
I'm fairly confident a book with T'Challa, Cage, Storm, Misty, Mani can match that.
Coates already said in that same podcast that there will be a reason why the team formed, and that it will be a story that's not told in Black Panther.

I'm sure it could sell. But i's going to need a hook to make it past 6 issues. Ultimates has it's hook and is still underperforming.
It's going to need more than "Hey! We're Black heroes and we formed a team!" to sustain readership. And Coates' reason to have them stay together needs to make sense so that people buy in.

If Ewing hadn't made Monica bae to Blue Marvel, I think Coates would've went with Monica over Storm in The Crew for that sexual tension fulfillment. She'd be giving T'BadDecisions the "should've chose me" smirk. Like in in those old Monica / Brandi music videos.

I think i've said this in the past but an international avengers team lead by T'challa (bc more of the world trusts him moreso than say... Namor) would be fun.
ie... the international community got sick of Carol and SHIELD crossing their borders during CW using Ulysses, so the UN decides to create a sanctioned team to do it instead. Tchalla agrees to lead it. Brings in different people from different parts of the world that he trusts. And hell, put one dude he doesn't trust on the team for the sake of it
you could use Eden (australia right?), luke (US), Captain Britain, some asian dude (are there any asian sorcerers? team needs a magic dude)
Storm to represent the mutants if there not dead by then. Maybe an inhuman for funsies.

Let's say hypothetically it does sustain readership, and the only thing its got going for it is "Black Panther and his black friends".
Does that mean T'Challa is A-list?
Will we actually get the Happy Pants Corps next?
