Basically both films would be about the Infinity Stones, but not necessarily the same story. It makes me wonder if, along with the rumors that we'll see more than just Thanos as villains, if Part 1 isn't something to do with Kang and the time stone. And then Thanos for Part 2 with the gauntlet.
The original Infinity Gauntlet story was really two stories to begin with.
Infinity Quest where Thanos gathers all the infinity stones from thier previous owners.
Infinity Gauntlet where he runs rampant with the power he got in the first part and the heroes try to stop him.
They could also do a straight Avengers/Thanos fight in part one where the Avengers take a heavy L and have
to regroup in part two. Possibly with a new roster of Avengers.
So Black Panther could either be helping/joining the classic movie Avengers team or joining a new Avengers team depending.
Hypothetically, whatever Avengers team is involved in Infinity War Part 1 could "lose" and we'll see an entirely different team for Part 2. Black Panther's movie in the middle could set up his involvement in that. He might choose to stick close to Wakanda until someone has to step up after Part 1.
The longest standing rumor about Infinity War though was that the original avengers (stark, rogers, thor, hulk) wouldn't be involved and would all "reform" again in Infinity War 2 to join with the "new avengers"
And it makes sense in regards to everyones contracts. Thor, Rogers, and Stark's contracts end after one more movie (Stark signed an extension for CW). So they can't be in both movies unless Marvel is gonna pony up the cash. It makes more sense to save them for Infinity War 2 than to kill them off in Infinity War 1.
Plus... Thor's next movie could leave him incapacitated for a while (Ragnarok), Rogers next movie could lead to him being gone for awhile (CW). And then who knows what they will be doing with Stark... he could easily be shamed from the public eye in CW for his part or maybe he is the one that gets the "new avengers" togther in infiity war 2 ala EMH.
I just don't know where the hell T'challa fits in in all this. I makes zero sense i cast Chadwick, have the costume ready, put him in Civil War with a decent role... and then put him on the shelf for 3 years? Kill all momentum BP has for a movie Marvel obviously considers risky?
Good time for the panic post gain for MR. M....

Both of those options kinda mess up his solo movie unless they are going back in time (which they haven't done yet).
If Thanos is coming or hell, already beat the Avengers in part 1... who the hell will give a **** about Klaw? Mbaku? Killmonger? If Thanos has the gauntlet and is on earth... he makes those guys look chitauri soldiers.
Thanos is coming and T'challa is just gonna dip out and go "oh hey guys, some dude with a sound hand is trying to take my stuff, you can handle Thanos right?"
If you are going to save T'challa for Part 2, despite already introducing him to the Avengers in Civil War... then you have to somewhat explain that. So T'challa is interested in a super hero civil war-ish thing but not a galaxy destroying Thanos? World Power Wakanda isn't going to help the universe in stopping Thanos?

There was a news few days ago about civil war and says that T'Challa will play a big role in Phase 3 so that's that

I see what you're saying but it all depends on how the plot unfolds. There could be any number of on screen reasons T'Challa may or may not be in the movie. It's a little too soon to start worrying about it.
Plus, how many times have we all read comics where someone says, "Why doesn't someone call so-and-so! This is right up they're ally!" And the other person says, "We tried! They must be out of town!"

If it was up to me, I would put Mephisto in the infinity wars movie, where the last infinity gem might be located in Wakanda In which Thanos sends him there and eventually coming across maybe the likes of Achebe or Killmonger or even Klaw to gain control of Wakanda, thereby giving Mephisto the opportunity to take the last gem and send it back to thanos
That might be a possibility but I doubt if they will go that route. After all, it's coming out in the summer so it's probably going to have some connection with the infinity war story

To add to the concern, how the hell are they going to film Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Avengers Infinity War Part 1 (and 2 if they're shooting it back to back)? That's a crazy schedule for Chadwick and Captain Marvel. We've yet to have a character play a significant role in films released the same year.
Plot wise, I'm not too concerned bc they could always have it be about the past, or Infinity War Part 1 could have a definitive ending. The closest thing Marvel has done with the Time play (outside of WW2) is when Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, and Thor all took place at the same time. It's possible that Daredevil also has a jump backwards as it may take place before Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

I think having it be in the past would kill a lot of what makes the MCU "go." Every movie is a step forward in the MCU narrative so far (although I am not sure on the Ant-Man time frame). It would just be... weird.
All because of Spider-Man, someone with 5 big movies already. ARG!!!

Well, that's the thing. We don't know anything about the plot of the movie. The entire "Thanos is coming and the entire world should be ready to fight him!" Thing is supposition right now.
In fact for all we know it could be the exact opposite, with the then-current team of Avengers going to space to fight Thanos. And then once Thanos defeats them, Part 2 is when he comes to Earth.

Pretty easily, I'd assume. They've just had Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson do a crazy three year stint with Winter Soldier in 2014, Age of Ultron in 2015, and now Civil War in 2016. Ensemble films actually make it much easier because you don't even need everyone on set. A lot of the Iron Man scenes in Age of Ultron were of a stunt-man or CGI stand-in while RDJ comfortably sat at home counting money.

Let some people tell it five movies isn't enough for the public to get to know a character. This was the reason I've seen used against adding Miles Morales to the MCU since Peter hasn't had a long enough run.
It the case Black Panther and Captain Marvel it's like a shot to the groins of the fans. Like yeah sure we had a coherent vision and plan but now we have Spider-man so screw all that.

Stark forming a World Police with super folk ready to push everybody around would be on Tchalla's radar. A Thanos that is still in outer space for Part One would not be.
If Part Two is about Thanos attacking Earth, then Tchalla would have a reason to give a damn.

That is the best way I can see it working is Thanos still in face battling GoG, Thor?, Hulk? before getting ot earth in Part 2

Mar-Vell
Moondragon
Hercules
Black Panther (who seems to be on the GtoG's side in this cover)
Vision
Wonder Man
Jocasta
This would be one of my favorite Avengers teams ever if they swapped out Jocasta for Mantis.
