Idris did nothing the entire movie but wait in the ship and then when the time came, he joined his boys Trevor Barnes and Rhodey in the city of the dead. That scene where they flirt was done in the reshoots because Ridley Scott realised that she had pulled off some superhuman feats in the movie and they wanted to keep the mystery of her being an android. Speaking of Charlize and black love interests, they cut the kiss with her and Will Smith from the theatrical release from Hancock because a fully white test audience said they didn't like it.
Don't even get me started on any Luke Cage controversy. That sex scene between him and Jessica has enough negative implications behind it, Bendis said that he struggled to get that approved by editorial and a lot of places wouldn't sell it or even print it. When it came out a lot of the racists jumped into their relationship at first stating that it was forced(as usual) and that "Luke stole Jessica from Ant-Man" which also has a lot of negative implications.
The original point was that bigots are always going to be prevalent in the comic book community, I think that the creators at Marvel are doing a superb job at shutting them down. I wish DC would follow their example but whatever. It's just going to keep happening. We just have to roll with the punches.
Anyway, this is a depressing subject so I'm moving on.
Dropping facts as usual bro.
It is a depressing topic. But also a topic we've been Bast-blessed and empowered to set the record straight on whenever we sense false news and alternative facts used to downplay or gloss over racism against the imagery of black men, women and children by these companies. Or just when neo-nazis retailers lose their **** at a comic con lol.
At this point, a neo-nazi is going to think what he thinks, and a black man with Stockholm syndrome is going to tap dance around any action that makes massa look racist no matter what history lessons we give. So it's not even trying to educate them (they set in their ways) but to simply ensure that this BP thread can still be a troll-free safe haven for old and new fans to discuss black panther or black-centric topics without being fed half-truths and intentionally disingenuous recollections of false equivalents as a means to stifle them.
In regards to that, I think a lot of us did good. A lot of knowledge curated. So I'll move on as well. (until next time!) Appreciate your contributions, as always.
I think we're forgetting the worst of them all, Cyborg. Now that I think about it, I don't think Cyborg has been shown to be sexually intimate until last year with the character Variant, who was created for the sole purpose of giving Cyborg his first on panel intimacy.
If you look at everyone from the original Titans they've had at least two or more partners. Nightwing (Batgirl, Starfire and multiple others), Beast Boy (Terra and Raven), Roy Harper (Donna Troy, Hawkgirl, Cheshire), Wally West (married), Aqualad (Tula). Thats some BS that he is the only OG male Titan who hasn't been shown like that, he's only been shown kissing Sarah Charles and Sarah Simms. In the recent issues of Justice League, Cyborgs son from the future doesn't even have a mother he's an extension of Cyborg. Cyborg is the ultimate emasculated black male.
Cyborg is the WORST black superhero of all time. I honestly wish they’d just phase him out. I’d rather have ZERO black representation than a half assed, pitiful, waste of time than Cyborg.
He is an insult to the word “black hero”

Can't be better said, but Cage shouldn't let Lang have Jewel.. He we've been better off in the long run how I wish that baby had a different mother in comics.. preferably Claire Temple..

I sincerely hope not.
T'Challa deserves to spread his romantic wings as opposed to pining over someone who jumped into Wolverine's bed before the ashes of her X-writer sabotaged marriage has even fallen.
T'Challa should have a fresh start with a fresh face or at least a character who doesn't come with ridiculous amounts of manufactured baggage.

War Machine is paradoxically one of the MCU's most merchandised characters after the four main Avengers despite not having very large roles in the recent films. Like if you looked at Age of Ultron of Civil War, War Machine had way more toys in the stores than a lot of the other 2nd tier heroes. I think Disney keeps him around because they know there's cash to squeeze out. Kids love robot armor.

It's a tremendous amount of trust to talk politics with a customer. I envy your experience.

If nothing else War Machine looks dam cool. Shame he's not handled all that well in a lot of the movies (at least in Civil War he actually mattered somewhat), but the potential is there. Perhaps when RDJ walks into the sunset War Machine can help fill that void.

I disagree. And if the author is Coates like I'm hoping then we know the relationship will be done justice.

I think Bendis making Cage Jessica love interest worked out pretty well for him. He had a nice run on New Avengers because I'm of it, which in turn led to Thunderbolts and Mighty Avengers. Plus Alias was cool enough to get on the small screen.
Right now, apart from Reed and Sue it's probably the most successful relationship at marvel.

Except he isn’t, he’s never talked about in a positive light when mentioned in a X-Book and the last time she had a solo and lead a team book the wrote her talking about him as less than dirt.
So far I blu under Coates has she been portrayed as treating him halfway decent and the fact of the matter is she’s not important to his mythos and he’s not to hers

I think the fact that they were married essentially makes both of them important parts of each others histories. That's not something you can necessarily just sweep under the rig and forget about, as evidenced by them both still trying to make it work.

To my knowledge, BP wasn't mentioned at all in her last solo. I gotta go reread it to be sure. And the last time the X-office disrespected their relationship I didn't purchase it so it's irrelevant to me. I'm hoping it's Coates as writer so I know his take on her will be followed up on. He's done so many things outside of her relationship with T'Challa, but he wouldn't have the established connection to invest time and panel space into building upon her character without her relationship to BP. So for that fact alone I am most grateful for her connection to BP and his mythos. I know you feel like I'm mooching off of BP. But I disagree. I started reading comics when the were married. I could only read a current Storm in the pages of BP. It's the only way things feel natural for me.

I don't think Luke will get married to Jessica in the TV Shows. The creator of JJ, Melissa Rosenberg, said her and Bendis wound up on a nazi hate sight not because of abortion, feminism, lesbianism but the interracial scene. That's probably why they put him with Claire but then Daredevil fanboys said that was Matts girl despite him being with Karen at the time. I even read some didn't like Luke being with Misty Knight. People always trying to cockblock Luke.
