Looks like those Disney and Fox talks are starting up again.

Wonder if we might get something in a sequel akin to the Priest story where Wakanda was in a standoff with Lemuria and both Doom and Atlantis ended up getting involved.
Having a big screen story involving the various kings of the MU would be pretty cool.
.............. so the original inhabitants of Wakanda weren't Africans? Instead, aliens?
Whenever I see a story like that, all I ask is this: Where was the editor?
That BS reminded me of two things:
a)The whole "HURF BLURF BLACK PEOPLE DID SLAVERY/CONQUERING TOO" apologia
b) The myth that Egypt was created by aliens not the locals. This was the same racist myth used by historians about Great Zimbabwe.
It amazes me that Coates would write such a story. I haven't been following BP regularly but this issue was a big mistake. With the upcoming movie, why put something like this out?
I know it's not the same, but it reminded me of what happened to the Amazons at DC. They got turned into man rapists out of the blue and were portrayed as corrupt and decadent for the most part by Azzarello but at least his story wasn't originally meant to have Wonder Woman or DCs Amazons in it.
That actually fits into marvel history reasonably well. In the past earth was inhabited with all sorts of demons and monsters before they were all driven out for one reason or another.
It doesnt fit in with Wakandan or Atlantean history but I can see why some would have no problem with this solely being applicable to Wakanda.
Excuse me, but I had to quote this. He came up in a recent discussion about the portrayal of the marriage. (Again, I know). But it's also a discussion about the rejection of the marriage because of the very real idea and realization that during the marriage (in the eyes of the X-writers) Storm's character came saddled with a big black dick. This compelled these writers avoid telling decent stories of inclusion with this black man. The idea is that these white men could not identify with or live vicariously through Storm's decision to go seeking the big black dick. I know quite a few of you are over the conversation, but I'd definitely appreciate it if some of you would offer your input. Lol it's funny that I created a thread specifically for this very topic. But people would rather have the discussion in her appreciation thread. Lol so be it. I also made note of the fact that it's no mere coincidence that Nehzno is suddenly making an appearance right before BP's movie is set to debut and Wakanda brought to the masses. It almost feels like all of a sudden the X-office is clamoring to cash in one the buzz by saying "oh, look, we have Wakandan representation..." it's comical. Lol these smart guys had a Wakandan queen at their disposal and look what they did with her?
Nezhno was a controversial character created by the X-Office to present the Wakandans in a bad light as regards the invented "rejection" of Nezhno because his father was non-Wakandan.
The X-Office and their associated writers, have always seemed to have an anti-BP/Wakanda bias from day one following the Hudlin orchestrated marriage between T'Challa and Ororo.
This is the primary reason why I would personally prefer it if Storm and the rest of the X-verse are kept as far away from the BP mythos moving forward.
Coates has to go.

I said it before but Nehzo’s return is just some petty “hey don’t forget about us” leech type *ish. No coincidence that after years of not caring about portraying Wakanda in a positive light the X-Office sees a way to get some notoriety since telling good stories is difficult go for that quick attention grab for that black character in the movies.
If Fox had somehow kept BP’s movie rights you’d see none of this

It's not like the X-office have bothered to reference Ororo's daughter which is something they could have done if their intentions were genuine.

Agreed 100%
It's really sad. (But predictable nonetheless.)

Maberry (in my opinion) is the spiritual precursor to Coates as one can see Coates BP run as a continuation of the diminishing of Wakanda that Maberry achieved with Doomwar.
That seems to be changing the question, though. I didn't generally like Mayberry even before Doom War, but there are plenty of fans of characters who turn out trash. Although I'll point out that, when it comes to Dr. Doom, I'd imagine there are people above him who are very protective of Doom's image at Marvel.
Doom was beaten by Scott Lang and Thor. He was nearly lobotomized in FF so he wasn't too protected.
I don't know what more Doom needed to do to BP and Wakanda in order to get his ass handed to him in Doom War.
Killed S'Yan, threatened Storm, sponsored a coup in Wakanda and nearly killing BP after killing two Doras. Yet he walks away because Noble Brother Syndrome reared it's ugly head. Maberry had no problem with Shuri and BP killing the Desturi. But when it came to Doom it was Pyrrhic Victory #10 for T'Challa.
A severe beat down of Doom would have been satisfactory.

Black Panther fans know that the X-Office doesn't give a crap about BP as their track record has proven. And if you're a Black mutant there's a tombstone somewhere with your name on it. Either that or you're renting space in limbo.

So much this...This X-writer issue has always seem to be about portrayal of males of color in what should a balanced manner.

It's kind've funny you mention the wholesale slaughter of the Desturi leadership by Shuri and T'Challa as written by Maberry in Doomwar especially as the parralels of T'Challa's willingness to kill Zenzi and the mass killing of Wakandan legions at the hands of the renegade Midnight Angels, are pretty hard to overlook.
I guess that Black-on-Black violence really sells well.

He just chose to ignore it with extreme prejudice.

Or like Bishop, you get demonised by X-writers before getting selectively lobotomised by Storm.
