The Scene with T'Challa and Storm was more lowkey dissing on Storms part to T'Challa and Wakanda, And then Coates pretty much pulling an X writer move and taking all blame off of Storm for everything while simultaneously going back to that tired S1 not wanting to be king bullshit AND making it worse by basically acting like T'challa was trying to control Storm or some stupid Shit. more of S1 crap and Coates narrative that black men try to control or take advantage of black women
But really when you look at it in context besides the stuff that happened in AVX, what did Storm really do wrong? She went to limbo and fought death himself for T'challa, only to have T'challa completely ignore her when he regained consciousness, then she was subsequently arrested by a group of rebels and put on trial. Then Doom put a repulser to her head and told T'challa to choose between Ororo and the Vibranium and T'challa chose the vibranium. Then after all that was over T'challa bucked out to hell's kitchen and told her to stay away from him. Then in AVX when she calls him out for not telling her the Avengers were going to launch a full scale attack on Utopia. (Which reversed would have been The X-men Launching a full scale attack on Wakanda, which i'm sure she would have told him about) his response was you should have kept it 100 with me first. As far as the mutants in Wakanda goes, at the time mutants were not banned from Wakanda and on top of that she was Queen of the Country which generally grants Sovereign Immunity from crimes in a monarchy. So legally she couldn't commit a crime, and all they were doing was looking for hope, not attacking the people. Fast forward her and T'challa come to blows, Namor Trashes the country and T'challa divorces her behind her back. I'd say there was a lot to apologize for there.

This issue just made me realize I just can't support this book anymore. Congrats Coates for being the first writer to ever get me to drop Black Panther
I found the issue cringe-y especially the Doras with their Fastball special and their mutant aspirations. Coates should have been given an X-Book. What is the point of T'Challa when Shuri can solve everything? As much as i love Storm she is not doing anything for me here. This book and its story feels like a team book it feels overstuffed and Shuri seems to be solving all the problems -- I've been complaining about Kitty in X-Men:Gold but now i have another team leader to contend with here. Why is this book even called Black Panther?
I don't know why Marvel are letting this shit happen
Issue started out with some decent action and the MA are still acting like a bunch of bratty 15 year olds. But T'Challa is still being portrayed as a chump as now Shuri has pretty much taken the Kotd trait on top of what's supposed to be T'Challa's personality, and the man still needs his freaking hand to be held by his supporting cast. And him fawning over storm and the story making it seem like Storm did absolutely nothing wrong in AvX really pissed me off.
I'm now praying that Coates leaves BP for Captain America because I am beyond sick of his crap. Thankfully the movie will show the masses what T'Challa is SUPPOSED to be like.
The phrasing that I'd use is "groveling at her feet" but I agree with everything that you said, mate.

We've got to start making bets. How long until the X-office attempts to pull a fast one on the BP mythos. Excluding the Civil War 2 comments from Becky "can't hold a book" Danvers and the Gambit incident of course.

Welcome to the club. Just reading this thread the last year makes me nauseous. Can't imagine reading the actual comic. Somehow I feel marvel editorial is laughing their asses off at the big finger Coates is giving us before the movie.

Prior to AvX, I'd say Storm came off as a near perfect wife. Every bad aspect of the marriage I can think of was on him. But I'd say both did things in AvX that they probably regret.
But I don't think what happened in AvX was the actual reason the marriage ended. I just think that was the excuse used to end it, but not the actual reason. If it were JUST that, they probably would have forgiven each other and moved on.
Honestly I think this was a case where they both rushed into a marriage they weren't entirely as ready for as they probably should have been, and when things got tough T'Challa rushed out of it. And in hindsight that's probably for the best. Since Storm isn'the queen this time around they can try and slowly take their time without the additional baggage that her being queen carried. What they are doing now is probably what they should have done on the first place instead of sprinting to the alter.

This is why I was really trying to understand what she needed to apologize for. You hit this one out of the park.

We can only hope that they get off their high horse before the movie and give T'Challa a good writer this time around. Damn this is not only your premier black hero but the first black superhero in comics period and Marvel editorial is letting a hack like Coates drag him through the mud like this?

What is wrong with being the perfect wife? Wouldn't or shouldn't a man want a wife that is going to be down and support him?
I don't believe the marriage was rushed. They had years of established history prior to Hudlin and the reason the marriage ended was due to Marvel wanting it to end. Simple as that.

I take it you were not pleased with the issue today? (more specifically about Storm and BP being back together) :(
I hope the X-offices would stop being petty, but I also hoped they would do my favorite character justice and that hasn't happy so I doubt there will be an apology from that side. I mean that storm I have seen from that side of corner has been despicable.

Hey BF, I don't have a problem with Storm and T'Challa being together. My problem is that they keep re-hashing old isht over and over and dumping on BP in the process. If they're going to put them together, just do it and move the frak on from AvX.
And they're only together again in the BP solo. I've yet to see any other title that Storm is in acknowledge anything. This is just milking drama for the sake of milking drama. There will be no reunion, just teasing. They both made their share of mistakes but I've yet to see both share the blame.
