I complerely understand your perspective and not trying to convince you in any way. I just see things differently at least from his approach with their interaction.
I honestly wish fans on both sides could move beyond what happened during Ivx and look to how things are being handled now between the two of them. regardless of if you supported the marriage or not most people can acknowledge Coates handling of the two now is good.
Yes it's her!!
Ha someone is upset Storm is getting a solo and even more upset she is and forever will be tied to Wakanda and Tchalla. But once you get out of your feelings let's give you a history lesson. Storm was leader of the Xmen at the time they were most popular and as such was able to win against WW in a fan voted crossover event. Her inability to sustain a solo had nothing to do with the character or her popularity. Even after the neglect the character has gotten post the marriage due primarily to Marvel not owning all the xmen properties she still is recognised as one of the most popular black superhero characters with celebrities such as Beyonce liking her. Your ill-attempt at being clever by areferencing a solo that failed not because of her but do to boring stories doesn't in any way diminish her impact. And seeing that Fox is about to seal the deal with Marvel her impact is about to grow not only in Wakanda (on screen and in the comics) but also in the overall MY.
Unless Marvel has something up their sleeve Coates has no plans to have them in a serious relationship based on the response he gave to a write in letter. Essentially he is wasting our time so he can get the Storm solo.

Pretty much
He straight up said verbatim that Storm and T’Challa will NEVER marry again. Which automatically spells doom for a relationship that involves a KING who MUST eventually marry and continue his BLOODLINE

well time will tell. hearts can change and I don't need them marrying again for them to always be together and as storm told him she will never forsake him.. remember when it's real it's forever!

I've enjoyed Coates' run more than most, but it's absolutely stupid to have T'Challa with Storm if they never intend to marry again. T'Challa has to marry for the royal bloodline to continue. I realize Marvel's sliding-timescale will ensure that we never see the throne get passed, but from a real world stand point, T'Challa needs to be looking for marriage. Illegitimate children are the most dangerous thing to royalty. Pursuing a relationship with someone he isn't going to marry is reckless and selfish. Shuri needs to wed as well, since she is next in line if her brother dies heirless.
Like, right now, if T'Challa and Shuri both die, the Wakandan throne is open for business. That means someone like Hunter or Killmonger or M'Baku can contend for it. M'Baku probably wouldn't be that bad for the rest of the world as he's still pretty isolationist. But both Hunter and Killmonger could straight up start World War III and/or force Wakanda to expand. T'Challa knows this. Getting married and having a legitimate child should be his main priority, even if Storm is his true love. It's why, unless the X-Men franchise does a complete 180 on their attitude toward the relationship, I'm in support of a new love interest that is solely a part of BP's franchise (preferably a native Wakandan). By 2020, T'Challa should be married and have a legitimate heir.
Luke Cage is married and has a kid. T'Challa is divorced and childless. That's ridiculous.

Yeah in BP she said she would never forsake him... Yet in some X men story she was all up kissing on Gambit...
This is why T'Challa need's to be allowed to move on

It'll be interesting to see what happens to Luke's marriage in the next year or so now that Bendis is leaving Marvel. Jesssica and the baby haven't been seen in the Cage relaunch and I can't remember if he's even mentioned her name.

That's not up to Coates though, that's on Marvel.

I find the level of selfishness embodied in the do-or-die desire by some for T'Challa to be tied to Storm no matter how this damages his forward momentum as a character, really annoying.
Post Hudlin, X-writers purposely derailed the marriage egged on by a vociferous segment of their fanbase and stayed perpetuating negativity towards the BP mythos with constant snark aimed at T'Challa whenever they could via a broad range of X-books post marriage annulment.
This snark has continued under Coates pen in the BP solo book where Storm is currently being shoehorned into the book much to the detriment of the titular moreso for the fact that T'Challa has been portrayed shouldering ALL of the blame for the annulment and marriage "problems" that existed nowhere other within the pages of stories written by X-writers.
Jason Aaron was quick to write Storm jumping into bed with Wolverine after having penned T'Challa pleading with her not to do so which just furthered the disrespect aimed towards the BP mythos by the X-Office.
But now that Storm's trajectory has hit rock bottom in the X-verse, some folks are trying to hitch her broken wheeled wagon to the ascendant BP hype resulting from the BP movie due out next year.
T'Challa has not been portrayed with any other women within the MU comic verse but oddly enough, this is not the case within the movie verse where Nakia has clearly been cast as T'Challa's love interest.
Some Storm enthusiasts stay disrespecting movie Nakia and shippers of that relationship just because they feel the BP mythos is beholden to Storm.
I don't think so
Storm has had her day as far as the BP mythos go moving forward irrespective of whatever narrative Coates has chosen to push through the BP solo book and I genuinely hope that future BP scribes allow T'Challa to transition out of his current relationship quagmire.
Enough is enough.

That's the nice thing about the heart shaped herb being poisonous to anyone outside T'Challa's family I suppose. Killmonger DID beat T'Challa and technically become Black Panther... and he ended up in a coma for his troubles. So there are built in measures to prevent that. Though I'm sure Killmonger at least would be smart enough not to fall for that a second time.
As far as T'Challa being married... while I do agree on paper it makes sense he really hasn't been married for the bulk of his publication history so I can't say I necessarily think he needs to be married. I'm certainly not against the idea in principal, but like you said the sliding time scale essentially means it doesn't matter in any sort of practical sense. No heir will ever really be needed. So it's more a question of whether or not any given writer wants him married for storytelling purposes.

I found this quote from Priest, in a recent Newsarama interview concerning his new run on Justice League, to be amusing.
Talking about how his take on Justice League might be received, he referenced the reaction he got to his Panther run:
"I got amazing hate mail for my Marvel Knights Black Panther, which seems funny 20 years later where that run has found an audience and retailers can’t keep the early volumes in stock. But, at the time, my take on Panther was so different (“How dare you give Panther an iPhone?!?”), we were just openly reviled."
I think fans now assume that, oh, of course, everyone embraced Priest's Panther run immediately. How could they not? But it's good to be reminded that today's classics, whatever they may be, were not necessarily always so well loved.
-
None of us thought that.
What a lot of us think is that people who have never read Priest now come in talking about what they think they know about Black Panther because they saw a few hacked up panels on the X-Boards five years ago, aka The Project Veritas of CBR.
