Wait, what? Why?
I've enjoyed Coates' run more than most, but it's absolutely stupid to have T'Challa with Storm if they never intend to marry again. T'Challa has to marry for the royal bloodline to continue. I realize Marvel's sliding-timescale will ensure that we never see the throne get passed, but from a real world stand point, T'Challa needs to be looking for marriage. Illegitimate children are the most dangerous thing to royalty. Pursuing a relationship with someone he isn't going to marry is reckless and selfish. Shuri needs to wed as well, since she is next in line if her brother dies heirless.
Like, right now, if T'Challa and Shuri both die, the Wakandan throne is open for business. That means someone like Hunter or Killmonger or M'Baku can contend for it. M'Baku probably wouldn't be that bad for the rest of the world as he's still pretty isolationist. But both Hunter and Killmonger could straight up start World War III and/or force Wakanda to expand. T'Challa knows this. Getting married and having a legitimate child should be his main priority, even if Storm is his true love. It's why, unless the X-Men franchise does a complete 180 on their attitude toward the relationship, I'm in support of a new love interest that is solely a part of BP's franchise (preferably a native Wakandan). By 2020, T'Challa should be married and have a legitimate heir.
Luke Cage is married and has a kid. T'Challa is divorced and childless. That's ridiculous.
well as xpac mentioned he hasn't been married the bulk of his existence and though important him bearing children is not something critical at least at this moment. additionally tchalla is challenging all the traditions of wakanda and that would include the idea of whom and when he should marry. which is why he has pursued ororo as hard as he has.
Yeah in BP she said she would never forsake him... Yet in some X men story she was all up kissing on Gambit...
This is why T'Challa need's to be allowed to move on
that wasn't ororo who kissed gambit. that was a doombot, nothing more
That's the nice thing about the heart shaped herb being poisonous to anyone outside T'Challa's family I suppose. Killmonger DID beat T'Challa and technically become Black Panther... and he ended up in a coma for his troubles. So there are built in measures to prevent that. Though I'm sure Killmonger at least would be smart enough not to fall for that a second time.
As far as T'Challa being married... while I do agree on paper it makes sense he really hasn't been married for the bulk of his publication history so I can't say I necessarily think he needs to be married. I'm certainly not against the idea in principal, but like you said the sliding time scale essentially means it doesn't matter in any sort of practical sense. No heir will ever really be needed. So it's more a question of whether or not any given writer wants him married for storytelling purposes.
agreed to your points as usual.
THIS right here. It's interesting how fan's think Tchalla and his Mythos somehow owe something to Storm now that he is rising, when the same fans were cheering that she was going to lead the X-Men and move on to better things.. funny how things turn out
no one wants storm with him because he is rising lolol . Coates has done a damn good job writing her as well as writing them together. that is the only reason. storms popularity she can hold without him and has quite frankly.
He probably thought he could proxy her to use WK money and political power to make changes elsewhere. lol
Would that mean Xavier needed a cane more than a wheelchair?

Tchalla doesn't just date just because, he is looking for a bride, whatever BS changes Coates makes doesn't change the fact that as a head of state, he is going to look for a queen and raise an heir to the throne. Coates stated they arent going to marry again.. so what's the point then?
To have it crash and burn in a world star hip hop part 2? And what's the benefit? T'Challa gain's nothing from. This arrangement and has plenty to lose. Storm gains and has nothing to lose from it. As shown already, if x office wants Storm in bed with wolverine she will be saying "T'Challa who?" I mean again while Coates has T'Challa gushing and pouring his heart out to her and her saying she will be with him
She is shown in another book kissing on Gambit.. What makes you think that they won't continue? Whether you want to accept it or not that was The real Storm kissing Gambit.
There are plenty of posters that have shown otherwise that they are on board because Tchalla is rising, and if she can hold her own without Tchalla then there should not be a reason for her to get solo's off his mythos then, which if that happens with Coates then that will be the second time she has used the BP mythos to get her own solo

That's why I'm not convinced they are going to crash and burn. if anything they both end it amicably. With both jean and Logan being alive, Logan will not be checking for ororo. And the stormbot isn't ororo. No one who is a fan of her is taking that seriously and the version of Coates and the one in gold are so different it's safe to assume stormbot is alive and well in the xmen gold. But joking aside, that kiss is indication the writer didn't do his homework as gambit is fawning for rogue and ororo is dating tchalla. So that contrived mess that hasn't even been mentioned since just shows how poor of a writer Guggs is. Furthermore since Coates is the one that was given the green light to write her solo it's clear the xoffices support what he has crafted on his stories for her.
Lastly, she is a part of his mythos in spite of you not wanting it so. It's canon she was queen of Wakanda, it's canon the people of Wakanda revered her, and it's now canon that some Wakandan people worship her as a goddess. People again who are fans of hers want them together because they like them as a couple and the current writer has done a spectacular job writing them and her individually. Has nothing to do with him rising or whatever you would like to believe.

There can be a middle ground between them not marrying and them crash and burning. They can theoretically continue dating, leaving it for the next writer to decide whether or not they marry.

Sometimes I think he never needed the wheelchair. He uses it so people think he is weak.

He makes a science guy appearance to help them get to the negative zone I think. Apparently his math was off because they did not land where they expected.
Came across this.

yea I noticed that shade as well. I just want guggs gone.
So with this Disney/Fox thing looming, what are the possibilities you see in regards to the BP film potential sequels?
Storm/BP deal? Gentle? Wakanda having their own mutant force? A war with Doctor Doom? BP/FF teamup? Etc.
