This mother###### needs to go. I think Coates ranks below Maberry and Thomas as the worst person to ever pen Black Panther. Absolute garbage, top to bottom.
This entire story gets even dumber when you consider T'challa has Monica Rambeau, Dr. Strange, Thor and the Ultimates on speed dial. If the ONLY thing T'challa is going to do is call people to handle his problems for him, why not call someone who'd end it in a split second?

Doubtful any of them could beat Adversary, save for MAYBE old-school Dr. Strange. Also, Adversary is an old Storm-nemesis. Bringing her in just makes the most sense to deal with him.

Common sense and logic aren't factors that count for much in the current BP book.
I assume you mean hasn't been seen in a decade? The answer is still clearly yes either way, though. I'm never a fan of just junking something because people haven't had ideas in the past. I'm also not sure "let's copy that idea from the movie" comes off as creating a new idea anyway.
People have been reading too much out of solicits for the past two years, so why not do that with a single panel?
My thoughts on this issue:
This issue had a very frenetic pace and I'm not sure it concluded clearly. I'm a little unclear on what exactly happened to power Storm. That being said, we're seeing a very clear theme. The story isn't focusing on T'Challa the warrior, it's about T'Challa the leader. He's at his most effective when he's using his resources to win the day, even if he's manipulating those resources. For those who want show not tell, it could certainly be frustrating because we're told these people are doing these things because T'Challa is organizing them, but we're not seeing T'Challa physically do much. The whole point was that he's one step ahead of everyone and able to win the day.
Leonard Kirk's art feels a bit rushed. I definitely didn't like the panels where he didn't bother to draw faces. That being said, I thought the panels returning to a catatonic Storm were effective.
Overall, this resolution was definitely a step down from the first arc. I think the action has definitely improved, but a lot of the promised world building doesn't seem to pay off. I'm curious if he returns to the Orishas in the future because there's definitely more to explore.
The ending with storm was weird when i read it a few times.
I thought it was a major feat... but i glossed over the fact the sorcerers lead by Big Z did half the work... then storm hit him with a lightning bolt lol.
The storm ending needed more than one splash panel for something that was supposed to be a big deal.
Thunderball killed klaw
Storm and the sorcerers killed god dude
Let that sink in a bit lol
Coates was pissed that BP wow and BP & crew failed so he turned the BP title into pseudo WOW and crew book guest starring BP.. like I said Tchalla has yet to do anything memorable. Folks want to say he was manipulating things but in all honesty he was wandering from issue to issue asking questions and needing his hand held.
You mean to tell me that Wakanda, the place that repelled the super skrulls solo, required the full might of Thanos army and all hos generals and 3 tries to defeat them, leader of said nation fried thanos brain with on the fly genius feat, turned up non Galactus house and outsmarted him, tangled and captured the tiger god, has faced devil's and gods and other cosmic beings on a consistent basis (and even on this stupid story talks about how peoples faith transformered them into gods) couldn't beat the adversary, couldn't come up with any sort of plan at all that involved THE MOST TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED NATION ON EARTH'S vast resources to put him down. He had to use outsiders and help to defeat literally every villain he faced in the two years Coates has been writing.
He literally took no one man and made it the true theme going forward. Yet every supporting cast member (bonus points if your a mutant) gets to shine and get more memorable feats then T'Challa.
There's a reason the only answer people can give when asked what big feat has Tchalla performed since Coates got on, used hos allies to get stuff done or turned allies turned villains turned back to allies...
Sad really. Last Issue should of been the end
Atleast T'Challa looked had decent. It's all just insulting that Coates willing jobs T'Challa and now all of Wakanda in favor of someone not apart of his mythos and the one she belongs too os simply going to ignore the relationship and add more insult to Tchalla

The other negative thing I'll say about this arc is similar to the firts arc, we've been led to think Wakanda doesn't have a military.
Ezyo's explanation above is better.

If a group of 3rd rate no name sorcerers can hurt him, i think voodoo or strange would do alright lol.
Just a PSA.
Sometimes we talk about Cyborg here. Just wanted to let people know he punched the hell out of Batman in JL. lol
I won't get to read it until the weekend, but I'm intrigued...
And right after Priest used Batman as a mouthpiece to voice all of our criticisms at DC regarding Cyborg. Lmao.
There's a lot of metatext in Priest's story, especially the stuff concerning The Fan.

Everything I said was going to happen with Coates on BP writiung duties, has come to pass.
I'm not sure why anyone would be suprised at this late juncture.
That's part of the problem.
I'm intrigued because modern Batman deserves to get punched out by other heroes more often. And if Vic is the one doing it this time, more power to him.

I'm not surprised at all. Issue 13? Sure I thought maybe he would be less crappy to Tchalla because he got to tell his big deconstructed story, but it quickly went back to the same song and dance but now worse because colonizers is a thing in Wakanda, and now Wakandans pray to Storm instead of, oh i dunno, the Black panther.
I'm more surprised that Evans isn't Even getting top billing in his own story that he is crushing it in.

As proof of this story, Adversary gets off on attacking the men that propose to Storm. He's her villain. This story shows us as much.
