That it took that long for the solo book to reach below 60k is amazing, tbh. I expected it to happen much earlier.
I wonder if BP #7 will get a boost, in light of the cameos it will get.
Sidenote: Goodness, DC's Rebirth is allllllll over the top of the rankings.
Annoying by whose standards?

I for one, have no problem with assertive Black women being depicted as such in comicbooks, movies or games for the simple fact that they do exist.
Coates seems to feel otherwise since he has Misty Knight self identifying as a "Thug for life" but hell what do I know?
Maybe "thug" is the new "woke" by Coates understanding.
I won't claim I don't have my issues with Coates' run but a lack of assertive black woman is not one of them. Misty's line is definitely problematic but not for the reasons you say.
Hey Wakandans! Just wanted to say I'm glad to be back with you guys. Had a major scare from Hurricane Matthew. It really did a number in my area. I'm glad to say that my family and friends made it through alive but there was one casualty in the city. There was some serious property damage and power was out for days. But I'm just glad to have survived.
Glad to hear you and your family and friends are okay.

rebrand, double shipping, 2.99 price tag
Misty's line is definitely problematic but not for the reasons you say.
I took it as just a good-natured joke. And while I generally go out of my way to avoid arguing with any of the more hardcore critics of the current series I am honestly surprised that anyone thought that was meant to be serious. Yeah, I know some of y'all think Coates is Satan personified, who is apparently purposely trying to destroy the character forever just to spite you but, come on.

It's like a never-ending onslaught / kitchen sink approach lol. It's getting results though.

curious to see how long they can hold on doing 2.99 books and double shipping.
Gonna be interesting. double shipping really really makes since for DC though because they are so damn top heavy hero wise.
The misty line was clearly a tupac shakur reference meant for jokes, at least to me anyway. That and the bad boys reunion line was just them carbon dating themselves lol. Thats why i mentioned the comedy if qdj were to get involved
After the big bump in last issue, i predicted it'd take a bit of a dive in #6 before spiking back up with issue #7. T'Challa and his black friends will grab attention. Too bad stelfreeze is only on the cover art tho.

Yeah, a bump in sales due to the Crew would be nice. It sends a message to marvel that these guys deserve their own book. Fingers crossed.

The dialogue wasn't bad between them and it made for some light heartiness which is lacking in Bps book. I just honestly hope that there is substance to the story and not more BS. If Storm scolds T'challa i'll flip a chair lol
Yeah, a bump in sales due to the Crew would be nice. It sends a message to marvel that these guys deserve their own book. Fingers crossed.
I agree. Hell, they're supposed to be announcing another book soon iirc and i think a crew book with good art would stay afloat in that Ultimates sales territory; 26k'ish a month. Even more if the plot itself has some purpose and juice behind it.
I look at the Spidey family tree:
Amz Spidey - 71k
Sp/DP - 65k
Miles - 42k
S-Gwen- 34k
Gwenpool - 25k
2099 - 21k
Silk - 20.8k
Carnage - 19.7k
Spider-Woman 17.7k
Spidey - 17.3k
Venom - 16k
And i think BP can handle 4 books, altho WoW is the one i feel reader's interest may wane on. That said, I do think Zenzi's story arc (and art) is pretty damn interesting, plus she has the "look" to be something great, altho she's still in her infancy in that regard.
Yeah, a bump in sales due to the Crew would be nice. It sends a message to marvel that these guys deserve their own book. Fingers crossed.
The bump won't be because of the guest stars it will be because of the 5 variants with the next issue.

Dat spidey line is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
especially since Agent Venom is usually reliable until they sent him to space for... reasons

If Ultimates and a hypothetical Crew book both count as BP books, I think we could have 1 of the 4 bp books in the upper echelon of sales (the current solo), 2 of the 4 in that spider-gwen - gwenpool territory (Crew and Ultimates)... and WoW is the only one i feel would be iffy.
And if we were being spammerific, i'm pretty sure Deadpool vs Black Panther (lol) or some such shameless nonsense with another popular character would also be in the Miles category

It was a Tupac ref.
The most problematic thing about it is the idea that Native New Yorkers Cage and Misty Knight may have been Death Row stans. :)

Wow is a subset of a subset book. The Crew has the best chance for top 30 sales. It would be great, if they could get Scot Eaton on it. Honestly, this is the book that I would beg priest to hop on. Hudlin would be a win win, because his Cage and Storm are criminally underrated

IF IF IF Storm fans actually existed and could be dragged over... yeah, high sales potentially.
If it can find a niche.
Ultimates does have a niche (high sci F4 type shit) and "meh" sales wise. Especially considering you would think CM fans and BP fans would be two separate fan bases who would unite on that book to drag the sales up but... nope

I don't see why there should be any trouble via the possible influx of Storm fans into this thread when the BP issues featuring her drop.

Pedestrian? Maj are you okay Bro? Pedestrian stop holding your punches Brotha we know how you really feel.
I would be fine if this book was Pedestrian that mean it be doing nothing of consequence. Pedestrian is hardly how I rate a book hellbent on destroying T'Challa and Wakanda Mythos.
A few questions for everyone.
Now that we're entering the latter part of this season...how do you think it will end, based on what you've all read so far?
Specifically:
-What will be the fate of Tetu, Zenzi, and The People?
-What will be the fate of the Doras? Will they return to the fold or remain a third faction from hereon in?
-Will T'Challa remain King of Wakanda? If not, what happens to him?
-With Shuri's return immanent, what role do you think she'll have in the final arc of the story? What position will she have in Wakanda at the season's conclusion?
-What do you think will happen to Changamire?
-What will be Ramonda's fate? Do you believe she will be able to recover from her injuries?
-Where will Wakanda go from here? Coates suggested that religion will be a topic that is touched on in season 2. What direction will Wakanda go at season 1's end and heading towards season 2?
-The Wakandan monarchy: will it survive in it's current form? Will it survive at all? Will there be a significant change in Wakandan governance?
That's all I have for now. Feel free to add on any other thoughts that comes your way.
Not even that, We need the other BP writer to be a BP fan
1. One of then will likely die. Or both imprisoned. Tetu will die if one is getting axed.
2. Dora's are Likely going to be a separate faction I feel n they haven't shown up since Ewings Ultimates so I doubt they are gonna show up with T'Challa anywhere else. Which is bs I feel because it should of been shown as to why they protect the Royal family and why they are Dora Milaje.
3. Yes only because the rest of the MU addresses him as king and he calls himself king still. I dunno of he still will have as much power. That's a maybe.
4 Shuri is going to rule to some extent. With Ramonda injured I think she will assume her role or Maybe might form the parliament even.
5 She will survive I feel, with the focus on the Women of Wakanda she will recover I feel. If not then Coates is truky an asshole.
6 I would like to believe the other gods would try and seize this movement to uplift their respective religions, white gorilla god, lion god etc want to fill the void of Bast. Likely case will be that the people start to stop believing in Bast, feeling abandoned, what religion they choose to to follow remains to be seen. But since QDJ is making an appearance WG might okay a role.
Wakanda government will survive but will adjust so that the Royal family isn't the sole say for Wakanda, a parliament for the people will likely be put in so they have a voice. So it'll be around but s shell of its former self
A few questions for everyone.

Specifically:

Tetu will be dead. Zenzi is less clear.
-What will be the fate of the Doras? Will they return to the fold or remain a third faction from hereon in?
I think this might depend on whether the side book is still going. I suspect they'll remain independent, but might be legitimized.
-Will T'Challa remain King of Wakanda? If not, what happens to him?
I suspect he will, although I can't say with confidence that the monarchy would have the same role.
-With Shuri's return immanent, what role do you think she'll have in the final arc of the story? What position will she have in Wakanda at the season's conclusion?
My theory/hope is Shuri becomes Prime Minister with T'Challa as King.
-What do you think will happen to Changamire?
I think he will continue to preach against the monarchy unless he gets caught as collateral damage along the way.
-What will be Ramonda's fate? Do you believe she will be able to recover from her injuries?
I do.
-Where will Wakanda go from here? Coates suggested that religion will be a topic that is touched on in season 2. What direction will Wakanda go at season 1's end and heading towards season 2?
I think Wakanda will be in a more stable place. It won't have recovered, but there will be reasons for optimism.
-The Wakandan monarchy: will it survive in it's current form? Will it survive at all? Will there be a significant change in Wakandan governance?
I think it'll survive, but with less direct power and a greater role for democratic participation, although my guess here depends heavily on whether the Parliament dissolved in Priest's run is supposed to be the same thing as the Council (my take has been that they've been described as quite different things). It seems simple enough to reestablish that body to add some democratic legitimacy.
