why does that matter in anything I posted? but to answer your question I probably would. I read all of world of wakanda and ororo didnt appear once.
BP didn't appear in WoW either.
Did you buy Coates first issue of BP and what made you buy world of Wakanda?
I'm only asking because I get the sense that maybe you're more of a fan of Coates than you are of T'Challa.
I believe that you enjoy BP and Storm as a couple but do you like BP as a character on his own.
Did you read NA when he was a member of the Illumnati? What about when he was in Hell's Kitchen?
I'm not casting judgement, just trying to understand if you're as invested in BP himself if he and Storm weren't a couple.

T'Challa ripped out Mephisto's heart. T'Challa went and put his own soul on the line in another plane. He was and should be the tip of the spear in his own comic.

coates work extends beyond just comic books my friend. if I was more a fan of Coates I would have read his other works which I never have.
i wanted to read wow because i wanted to get a better understanding of what led to the events exhibited by the dora in BP.
and yes of course I like tchalla on his own. I thought the movie was excellent and I enjoy his portrayal in coates book. what turns me off to tchalla are non-infants or the BP enthusiast. this whole credibility check I find to be quite ridiculous. if I was solely his fan because of ororo why does that matter? if I'm a fan of him because of nakia would it matter? for some reason I don't think it would.
and no I read a few of stories during na but I find avengers to be boring, especially when at that time I felt the xmrn were getting shotty treatment to prop up the avengers but that's another topic.
you may not be intending to cast judgment but I dont see there same sorts of questions to other posters here. the actions here are a lot stronger than what you see conveying through your expressed words.

tchalla wouldnt have been able to rip.his heart out if mephisto energy wasnt stripped from him. he wouldnt have been able to go to that plane without the tiger god.
-
whatever issue 4 and 5 was I read. dont recall client.
he didnt do it on his own (you just admitted this).. he would not have been able to beat mephisto if not for his teams help when he encountered him on earth. he wouldn't have been able to get out of mephisto stealing his soul if not the fact his soul was tethered to his ancestors. logos defeat depended on the environment as much as it did tchalla. that plane logos and tchalla fought within operated on metaphors. logos was the law in that plane and tchalla is s king. being a king is greater than law. therefore his win revolved on that important fact. again context is important.
And again, he did beat him them on his own by using his resources and mind to do so. The Wakandan redshirts he brings with him are the ones disrupting the Mephisto so Tchalla could punch them out. And with Logos Tchalla went up against him using power he obtained by defeating the tiger god. If anyone were to Read those stories they would say Tchalla beat Mephisto and Logos. They wouldn't say Tchalla and the redshirts or Tchalla and the tiger god. Just like when people talk about Coates S2 they aren't going to say Tchalla, Shuri, storm and Wakanda defeated adversary, they would most likely say storm defeated adversary. Why? Because storm did the knock out blow and then lions share. That's what constitutes who gets what.
In Ultimates, Tchalla gets the claim of frying Thanos Brain despite blue marvel and spectrum being there to assist. Why? Because it was his idea, his tech he used, and him calling the shots and delivering the knock out blow, BM and spectrum helped but that is Tchallas win

Sorry if you feel that I'm passing judgement. But I still get the sense that it's Coates version of T'Challa that appeals to you more than anything else.
I ask these questions because I want to get a better understand from someone that I've had lengthy conversations with in this thread as well as the Storm thread.
I don't ask other posters these questions because I've had conversations with them already about T'Challa in these other series.
You say that non-infants and BP enthusiasts are what turn you off to T'Challa. The same has been said of Storm fans.
If I like a character, it doesn't matter what others think, good or bad. Iron Man is my favorite character and I read his stories regardless of what people think.
Again, this is not an attack or passing judgement. Just asking questions to get a better understanding.
Thank you.

Let's get the excuses out of the way...
According to Comichron stats the monthly sales of Black Panther comics have dropped and hover around 20,000+ monthly with the exception of this recent #1 reboot which sold 120,000+ and made the top 5!
http://www.comichron.com/monthlycomicssales/2018/2018-05.html
An asterisk needs to be placed there because it is a #1 issue and that comes with automatic enthusiast pre-sales but one should expect that eventual drop after the new car smell fades away!
Comic sales are way down across the board with the usual suspects of Batman and Spiderman maintaining some degree of high revenue generation but year after year Black Panther comic sales are never on their level consistently!
But then how does one explain that 1.3 billion dollar box office take for the solo movie that surpassed all others which includes Batman and Spiderman that have had multiple movies and multiple actors portraying them for decades?
Somebody is either missing or ignoring the obvious math if that many black people showed out literally for this movie but don't bother to buy the comic book at all!
The movie gave them a blueprint to print cash and all we get from the current "printed" comic is...
Storm: "Come back to me!"
Explain how Storm a character from another franchise that has to combine it's movies together to even reach Black Panther's 1.3 billion dollars in revenue is driving the narrative in his books?
So now we are in Star Wars meets Wakanda territory... Will Black Panther get not a Jedi blue, or a Jedi green or a Dark Lord of The Sith red but a Kinte cloth colored light saber?
The Point Man may have to return from hiatus...

So Cap America will be dealing with an X-Men villain issue 1. Gee I WONDER who will show up.
Those threads will be interesting.

Black Panther fans, prepare to throw up your "Wakanda forever!" salute when you see this gorgeous bridal shoot inspired by the epic Marvel film. This Wakandan wedding was shot by photographer Chloe Jackman at Lake Chalet in Oakland, CA, and incorporates traditional Habesha attire and jewelry as well as subtle details from the superhero movie. The color scheme also has a timely influence, as it features the 2018 Pantone color of the year, Ultra Violet, which happens to be the same shade as the magical heart-shaped herb that gives the Black Panther his powers. According to Chloe, the shoot showcases two distinct styles for both the ceremony and dinner reception. There's a modern, sleek black-tie look and a more traditional, culturally significant style. See this stunning wedding shoot now!

The king has arrived.
King T'Challa, aka Black Panther, is the latest hero to join the upcoming co-op VR game Marvel Powers United VR. The new title — from Marvel Games, Oculus Studios and Sanzaru games — has already announced playable, fan favorite superheroes such as Captain Marvel, the Hulk, Rocket Raccoon, Thor and Deadpool. Black Panther is among Marvel's most popular characters, with the Wakandan king's solo movie earning $1.3 billion globally.

Marvel has ALWAYS failed to get a bump from the movies. They pay lip service to trademarks, and flood the market after the fact, but bottom line is, most of the people who see the movies never set foot in a comics shop.
And those that DO, will buy comics and/or trades that were already ordered, and have no impact on sales at all.
There might be a small percentage who actually bother to sign up for a subscription based on something they heard or saw online. But they may not stick around when the characters they read don't line up with the characters they watched. And even if they did order new books... we wouldn't even see a sales bump until 2-3 MONTHS after the movie.
The whole ordering system is broken, compared to regular books. And there's zero chance of it changing.

Consider this... one of the best-selling franchises at Marvel is Star Wars. And the comics are not only consistent with the movies, they are (apparently) CANON to the movies.
And yet, there is not one ongoing MCU title. Just random one-shots and minis with minimal plots, designed to hype movies that don't need the help. I can't recall one tie-in comic that took place AFTER the movie... despite the fact that the MCU operates in real time, so there are often 2-3 YEARS of untold stories to tap.
But hey! Variant covers are just as good, amirite?

I think there could be a situation when Diamond gets their pull list service up and running and they decide later to ship directly to consumers and bypass retailers. LCSs will be joining Blockbuster and Toys R Us buildings.

No publisher gets a substantial bump from movies - at least not in monthly titles.
Wonder Woman was huge in theaters but that isn't reflected in the sales of the monthly book, for example.
So this is not an unique phenomenon to Marvel or BP.
As for the new issue, I continue to really dig this new storyline.
Acuna's art is absolute a key asset here but I think good art is invaluable to every book and I like the story that Coates is unfolding.
I hope we don't have to wait too long for some crucial reveals about what is really going on but for now, I'm enjoying the story and am willing to be patient when it comes to answers.
I also like how Coates has really embraced the visual aspect of comics in this volume and is happy to let the art carry the heavier part of the storytelling load.
One of the best issues of the previous BP volume was the largely "silent" issue and that approach seems to be informing the direction of this volume so far.
