Amazing, i will only say that sporting that kind of gut i see why Kraven relied on them gadgets, lol!
I guess getting mauled by a mutated spider in Spider-Island did a real number on him :p.

pretty impressive how he took out those drones and the hunter.
my only complaint is the animation. its just not as nice as I would want it to be .
I told you, I came to play.
none of the guesses about what the show is or how we're working the characters is even CLOSE to what it is. We are not the movie and we are not the comic book. we did our own thing.

Nice.
I don't really have an issue with a Shuri series basically retconning MCU Shuri into the canon. People dug that take on the character and what little we know of the series sounds like Shuri will be dealing with the same ish her movie counterpart should be dealing with post-Infinity War. I hope it's good and I hope the transition from comics Shuri to MCU Shuri is smoother than the interview quote.
The way I see it, there's good and bad things about it.
Good:
Clearly, Marvel got tired of waiting for Coates to actually pay off the whole "Mother" plotline.
No more "deus ex griot" powers.
Another POC title.
Bad:
It's Okorafor, who definitely has a preference for a specific character type, which doesn't match original!Shuri, griot!Shuri, OR movie!Shuri.
It seems to be relying on the current BP arc for backstory, but basically ignores the current portrayal of SHuri completely. That's just going to confuse people.
As usual, Marvel announces when the book is coming out, but NOT the fact that new readers have to order it soon.
The whole thing comes off as a money grab. But since they are still trying to position Okorafor as some sort of superstar comics writer (despite the fact that nothing she's written for BP has been that good) tells me that it will likely be "Crewed", and turned into a mini.
Nothing at all. =)
That's what I thought. :smh:
The art style looks in-between the Avengers cartoons and Marvel's Spider-Man. Not exceptional animation, but solid :).
Kraven is the Marvel's Spider-Man version so I'm guessing that's now the de-facto continuity for any Spider-Man character. Although he looks really out-of-shape here, and never relied on his drones this much.
Panther is a beast. Why do we need the Avengers in this cartoon again ;)?
Thoughts:
- Cap and Iron Man look out of place with all the Black Panther characters.
- I like that they're doing something more unique with Killmonger's look then just adapting the MCU suit.
- Holy crud, White Wolf!? Didn't see that coming. I wonder if it's Hunter or someone else?
Yeah... T'Challa looked great, but Kraven really looks like he needs to cut down on the carbs. The guy really looked out of shape. Otherwise, it all looks like a lot of fun.

Why is this so frakking hard to have in a Black Panther comic book?
There is just no foresight in the comic division at Marvel.
Except Bendis. Bendis tries to jump on the MCU stuff before it becomes a thing. Generally tries and fails but he tries to get a jump on stuff just based on rumors alone.
But everyone else there is clueless on this stuff.
They should have never made comic shuri some Griot thing without first knowing what she was going to become in the movie universe.
Never should have dissolved the Doras before finding out what the movies were doing.
Never should have taken the crown from T'challa with the movie coming out.
Never should have made Wakanda some hell hole.
Marvel comics are just so reactionary withotu sitting down and thinking ahead. Ever.
Y'all should never have bought Coates stuff in the first place.
Ijs.

It is getting to the point that you have to have a ph.D in Wakandan Mythos to keep up with the black panther continuity.
It doesn't piece together well at all.
I am not sure if other characters are this convoluted or not but Bast have mercy.
Maybe... just maybe... we might get some rumblings about Coates leaving Black Panther soon-ish? use the "last few issues of Coates epic black panther run!" line to boost end of season three sales and they softcore reboot the franchise when he gets back from space?
If you drag spaceNakia back to the 616, and fix M'baku somewhere, you essentially have the movie crew ready to go after this synergy reboot of Shuri.
Rise Black Panther was much more movie-ish than anyting else. Continue in that vein and just kidna sorta ignore most of what Coates has done, like theyhave already started to do
IF you are willing to completely change Shuri like that to synergize with the movie... why woudl you even allow Storm back in teh mythos?
