I honestly dont think Priest will ever again have a desire to write BP.
Now I could see Hudlin taking another crack at it. It would be more than welcome
I think Priest sort of made his views about writing a character of color (or at least being offered black characters) in general. Maybe he'll change his mind down the line, but him returning to BP probably isn't happening anytime soon.
Also, I think there's sort of this understanding in comics that you usually don't return to a book that you had an iconic run on. You end up sort of competing with yourself
But I do wish there was a bit more closure to his run, as a lot of his plot threads were never really resoloved.
It was like a diet coke version of the JMS version
That was left open and out in the sun too long.
Just bland and unsatisfying.
I was very disappointed. Squadron Supreme and Nighthawk were big fails all around.

Eh Priest doesn't want to be typecast as writing only books where a Black Guy is the lead.
He has nothing against writing or using Black characters in his books...see Deathstroke yes it stars Deathstroke but we have seen plenty of Black and Asian Characters in the run.
Is it wise though? Having a writer with a successful run come back to write for the same character/franchise? It almost never turns out well
Well for Priest I would say let him write a crew book because it was cancelled before it even began and unlike Coates book it was actually pretty good. So letting him explore that a little would be cool.
For Hudlin, he has said that he in recent times that there was more he had in mind, hell his version of Doomwar would of been 100x better the the crap we got. So if Marvel greenlit him with as much support and creative freedom that Coates has been Given... I would love to see what he would of finished up with. Hell I would love to see him put together his Black Avengers team book he originally pitched at marvel before being given Black Panther

Bring on World War Wakanda.

Writer: Nnedi Okorafor with notes from JMS (to help transition to comic format, a problem I see with many novelists making the leap to comics)
Art: Afua Richardson

Eh Afua Richardson's Art on BP wow wasn't anything too impressive to be honest. I would rather someone else with more skill.

Afua Richardson was the cover artist and the artist of the Zenzi story.
Alitha Martinez was the main artist for WoW (which is the one I think you're talking about).

My personal vote for art duties would be Deodato.
But marvel probably wants a black creative team, which for PR reasons is somewhat understandable in the present climate.

If you want Priest writing anything you are going to have to give him a set number of issues to work with before hand.
His story endings tend not to have satisfying conclusions.
They more or less just...kinda stop.

What? Her covers were the best part about the entire series?

Ah okay my mistake. The Cover art was better and Zenzi's story was definitely better art the the rest of BP WoW1-5. but i would say for a BP solo i would say maybe have her do the cover art and be a sub in if needed but would still have someone else do the art for the book itself

I Was mistaking Her cover art was good, but I would have her stay on covers or be a fill in for artwork if needed.
I know it's a little early to be counting chickens. But in the event Coates does leave the book, who would you like to see take over the series?
I'd like to se David Liss write a fully powerd panther with all the tech and cash at his disposal!
