I was attempting [foolishly] to divert his attention from a certain naysayer. So I'll take the blame for that.

I can't quit put my finger on it, but the emotional drain I felt at the end of IW wasn't quite the same as the emotional drain I felt at the end of MoS/BvS. Drained but not depressed is probably how I'd describe it.

Gotcha.
I saw homeboy arguing with a certain someone, someone who's responses boiled down to "nu-uh". I attempted to divert that with agreeing with him. It backfired miserably. The end. Really not more to it than that. But if you feel the need to stick up for him after its been over for a few hours now, you'll have to do it without me. I'm not going to contribute to more dread drift and potentially my own ban over this.

Me trying to get at IW making more than BP in the long run (assuming that's where he was going and the source of the disconnect between him and the other poster). Misspeaking and being confused are two different things, and to be fair I did clarify that particular point later.

I completely forgot about Solo, and that's because I have no interest in seeing it (MAYBE at the $2.50 theater but even then I don't know), so you may be right there. I conceded that point too when the other poster mentioned Solo. I'm not a fan of Star Wars without Jedi/Force elements, but, Han Solo is a popular character plus it looks well made, so it could be a juggernaut that eats into IW's profits. We'll see.

That's what I meant in regards to BvS, though with a dash of wtf did I just watch. Even Marvel can do DC better than DC and that's frankly SAD. DC needs a new playbook.

You are the one that compared how much money they would make.
it seems producer Nate Moore urged directors Anthony and Joe Russo to spare one hero.
“I knew pretty well what they were talking about and personally urged them to reconsider,” Moore told the Huffington Post, when asked about the death of Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther. “But the storytelling made sense, so I love that we got to see a little bit more of Wakanda in that film, and I hope to see how they’re going to resolve that.”
Well, at least he tried.
We will see in Avengers 4 if it really made sense or not.
I *think* it may pay off because of the people left in Avengers 4... they could all very well die and die for good. I think only Rocket is really safe.
You are the one that compared how much money they would make.
I only care about the money BP made because i want more deep Black Panther Stories. I don't really care how much money BP makes. Money does not matter when it comes to how a film is remembered. Avatar is the highest grossing film of all time and most people don't like it much anymore. IW is really not that important. It's just a fun popcorn film. Black panther will be remembered by many because the deep story and the black leads, not over the top action and CGI.

You do know that the comparison is strictly due to the fact that BP has curbstomped a other super hero solos and so the team movies are the only ones left to go off of. If IW beats BP domestically (it may not) then it's not a knock on BP. Right now BP is sitting pretty baller in terms of it's success and milestones
FWIW, theaters decide whether to keep a movie in the theater, it's not really Disney's call.
Yes but it is Disney's (or any movie studio's) decision to undercut the theater by releasing the movie in the ancillary market when it is still in the theater. I have BP on Google Play right now and its still playing in my local theaters. I can't imagine it's theater run will make much more money. At this point, I'm doubting that it will make it to $700m domestically now. I don't blame Disney for the decision though. A:IW and DP2 were going to kill the superhero share either way by this date. BP had its biggest weekend drop this weekend at 59%. This shows the kind of insane legs this movie has had by the way as, most blockbusters will have a 50% drop or higher after their FIRST week.

No, Disney has a lot more power then other studio's, If they want BP to hit 700m domestically they will find a way to keep it in theaters until it hits 700m.

It is about to get extremely crowded in the theaters.
3 blockbuster pg13 movies all at the same time + deadpool.

If it's art delay I'll take that over weird fill in pages that don't mesh with Acuna's art.

Honestly the fact that they dusted T’Challa bugged me because I wanted to see BP 2 without having this Infinity War plot cloud over everything.
Now the next film is just going to time travel or undo everything Naruto Pain style. That’s why the ending didn’t shake me as much, because I knew it wasn’t going to stick, but I fear I won’t love them just rolling everything back. I don’t know how you fix IW in a satisfactory way narratively.
It is about to get extremely crowded in the theaters.

It's already crowded. I could be wrong but I really don't see Solo changing the situation much other than leeching money away from the others. What I am saying is that it would be crowded regardless of Solo being here or not but it will just take money away from the other movies. Solo will take more theaters away from Black Panther though. I'm curious to see how my local Magic Johnson theater plays this out. I've always found them to cater more specifically to a Blacker audience in the movies they show. Seeing how Solo and the STar Wars franchise is mud in to Black audiences, I wonder how many screens it will get compared to other movies.
I wouldn't be surprised it they had at least one showing of Black Panther all summer.:D
No, Disney has a lot more power then other studio's, If they want BP to hit 700m domestically they will find a way to keep it in theaters until it hits 700m.
That is not the point. The point was that it was Disney's decision to put out the movie out in the ancillary marker, i.e. digital, DVD, Blu-ray etc, which essentially undercuts it's theater ticket sales. Studios make less movie from the longer it is theaters. Studios start taking in around 70% of ticket sales when the movie first starts but then get as low as 35% of the ticket sales in the 6th weeks. BP has been in the theaters for almost 14 weeks. Therefore, at this point, BP getting to $700m domestically is irrelevant to Disney other than bragging rights. They stand to make more money from the ancillary market than few million dollars in which they only have a small percentage.
I'm not saying that BP can't make it to $700m now. I'm saying that Disney made it MORE difficult to reach that amount by their own actions.

Hmm....No new solicit for August

Other than the dusting of T'Challa, I have to admit though, Thanos punching the kinetic energy out of T'Challa's suit cracked me up for some reason.
