After T'challa got KTFO because of ross and Killmonger smashed his rib cage, they thought he was dead.
Ross tried CPR, mentioned there was a pulse, and killmonger said that he has to finish the job.
Ross argued, and due to Ross being king technically... he yielded for T'challa.
-
Great insight ;)
or he could just choke him out like he may have been attempting, before the silly ending. Eitherway Killmonger seemed on the verge of defeat and admitting that he'd rather wake up unconscious (or not at all) than admit that was his ass
Killmonger was still talking so that was probably not a choke. He probably was just holding him, though the danger in that is Killmonger has a free arm.
But yeah ... you can say T'Challa had the upper hand before he lost. So no one jobbed there. Everyone got their props.

Not sure if that's an indicator that Killmonger is stupid or a nicer guy than he might appear to be.
But I suppose you need to write a story that way when you want an undefeated villain and a hero whose not dead.

Really what?
Priest fight had it so T'challa was noticeably barely winning the fight, judging by the fact Killmonger was the one asking for breaks and T'challa was screaming at him to yield before Ross was Ross.
Priest is the one who emphasized the idea, and had Killmonger specifically brag about it, that Killmonger is the one opponent that BP can't ever beat straight away.
The Hudlin fight was a dead heat as well.
Not quite. Hudlin handled it in a way has to leave it somewhat ambiguous, which I thought was the best way to handle it. Killmonger had BP down and was about to strike a killing blow with his sword when Photon (Monica Rambeau) swooped in a "killed" himn. BP claimed that he "had my next move planned" to which Monica replied "Look, I know you've got the answer to everything, and can beat Galactus in a fair fight, but comon on! This guy has beaten you every time and was about to run you though." And the subject is dropped. So it's unclear whether BP really was going to survive, plus it brought up and mocked that "always ahead of everyone" idea of BP that some folks insist on.
Cap and Bucky beat Tony
Black Widow had to go into hiding
Bucky lost his arm. Who knows what psychological damage Wanda has now. Hawkeye likely can't go back to his family. Ditto for Scott. Sharon is on the run.
Everyone that lifted a finger to help Cap got F'd in the end. But yay! they can form an underground super hero group....?
He saved Bucky... they are friends again... and he had to put the dude back on ice in some random African country.
Iron Man at least has his best friend with him...
Ain't nobody win except Zemo and even he didn't get to off himself like he wanted
Yeah, Cap didn't exactly win. Tony, in the end will get exactly what he wanted. A Accords sanctioned Avengers, with some new members (including Spiderman). Great opportunity to bring in some new characters.

I don't mean to beat a dead horse but I honestly think if the Amazons or Asgardians had the cure to cancer but refused to give it to Earthlings, there would be less rumblings among comic book fans. There definitely wouldn't be anyone saying we should destroy Themyscira/Asgard. I can already see people saying "well humanz are evil, we reek havoc upon the world, I would be hesitant to share the cure as well."
Plus we all know in real life if there was a cure for cancer they(the government) would withhold it to figure out how to make the most profit from it. I've got proof to back this up.
Any sane group of people would be weary of sharing a cure with outsiders who have done nothing but try to invade your country for your resources. I agree with whoever said it should've been the common cold. Tho I'd prefer something a little more heavy than the common cold.
As for Killmonger. I like the fact that he's an even match with T'challa as I've always been a fan of rivalries. Goku Vs Vegeta, Spider-man Vs Venom, etc...
Also one more thing. I'm fairly new to BP, got into him a few years ago. I had no idea the Doras were brides in training. When I first read about them I thought they were awesome. I still think they are. I just thought they were royal bodyguards. Someone mentioned months ago that the whole wives thing should've been ret-conned and I agree. I even remember arguing with a Storm fan on the old cbr x-boards and he/she/it called the Doras T'challa's concubines. I had no clue what they were talking about so I just didn't respond. To see Coates focus so much on this aspect is surprising to me to say the least.

That's what I like about Killmpnger. Like Doom and Thanos he's a somewhat protected villain. Writer go out of their way to try and not make him NOT look like a loser.
There are so fee villains who have cred because villains by design are there to lose. So someone like Killmonger, who can actually win is a precious storytelling resource.
Re: Killmonger...
Other than the Panther Rage, their fights have been extremely even.
Priest fight had it so T'challa was noticeably barely winning the fight, judging by the fact Killmonger was the one asking for breaks and T'challa was screaming at him to yield before Ross was Ross.
The Hudlin fight was a dead heat as well.
The way I see it, if both are 100%, T'challa eeks out a hard fought victory.
If one of them slips, gets distracted, is previously fatigued, slightly injured, in any sort of way their dead.
Which I think is the mark of a good rivalry. Especially considering Killmonger can't stay dead lol.
It annoys me somewhat given how...unimpressive I find Killmonger as an Arch-foe.
Where's his signiture weapon? Or uniform? And dude's powers (if indeed he has any) are
vague as heck.
People complain about T'Challa being nerfed and such, but his arch enemy is this dude running around without a shirt 90% of the time.
Hard to seem impressive when your archfoe looks like a jobber wrestler in a developmental circuit.

That is because they were referred to that on panel on at least once that I an remember.

The thing I'd using gods is somewhat of a tricky comparrison. Most gods don't really give a damn about humanity ( gods like Thor being the exception). In fear Itself the Asgardians were going to destroy the earth, so not curing cancer likely won't keep them up at night.
So I don't think the Asgardians withholding the cure of cancer would necessarily get anyone's attention. I think people just assume and accept this is how they're going to act.

Me and Vic were talking elsewhere and we kind agree Killmonger is kinda stupid or just so cocky he betrays him.
I mean, the dude took the HSH, without asking any questions, no idea how to prepare it, dude just took the herb and ate it like a cheeseburger. Despite the fact shady AF Hunter was standing right there and goading him into taking it.

I agree. I liked the way Priest re-introduced and used him, and that Hudlin carried on with that.
And while I'm excited for the movie, I had to say that I don't see Michael B. Jordan as that character. Hopefully he's spending a LOT of time in the gym right now.

I agree he should have more signature gear and tech, like T'Challa should.
But in a way I'm also impressed by how sucessful he is while having so little, at least in comparrison to who he faces. It makes him sort of the underdog who on paper shouldn't win, and in a way I think that actually makes him look more impressive.

Thor implied Asgard could treat Jane when he first saw she had cancer.
-
Killmonger's signature weapon is his brain. And his ruthlessness.
RE: Thor, Dan Jurgens did an incredible (and underrated) run on Thor several years ago, where Odin "died" and Thor, as the new king of Asgard, decided that it was time for the Gods to once again resume being active in influencing humanity. He moved Asgard to directly over NY and they began doing things like healing the sick, feeding people and stopping wars. People started worshiping them again. And we saw how this became a threat to world governments and established religions. It was really good stuff.

He should be given the energy daggers or something else from T'challa's goodie bag.
Or maybe Coates should've given him the force push.
I think M'Baku should've been given some type of fist gauntlets to symbolize the gorilla instead of him wearing that awful ape outfit.

Too bad this was his last appearance and not his first

Key word "attempting" buddy. Hence the request to "yield" (or else there would be no point in asking that, if you weren't going to give him a chance to reply first).

He didn't even want to fight or hurt Steve and knocked him away just to shoot him with... handcuffs.. lol instead of outright killing him right then and there like he was attempting to do with Bucky. Even at the very end, armor compromised and all: "Last chance, stand down".
So i thought the movie did a good job of portraying the fight while making it quite clear upon closer look that Tony would have curb stomped them if not for whatever remaining good will he still had for Steve.

MCU Killmonger definitely needs a kickass costume/suit and some type of distinct weapon. Maybe some MCU'ized version of that spear/predator mask and armor combo from the last page. A tech'd out spear or somethin fancy lookin at least lol

Re: Killmonger
So I knew I saw a scan in the past where T'challa defeated Killmonger.

Everything i've read today says this is canon. It even mentions how the Killmonger in the Iron Man annual wasn't really him, only a simalicrum. Also makes numerous metions of Panther's Rage,
also interesting thing about this issue is that it has Klaw and Killmonger working together... Klaw actually tries to kill Killmonger but Killmonger alreayd had a contigency to stop him. could be interesting if the movie follows suit.....
So the "never defeated" thing is purely BP's writers ignoring past continuity... like usual lol.

So do you guys think Coates run will be up their with the all time great run's like Priest's Black Panther and Frank Miller's Daredevil when its all set and done

That's a near impossible standard to meet.

To be able to handle T'Challa vibranium suit he'll definately need either comparable tech or superior meta human stats.
He definately had a Predator vibe last time we saw him. What whole presentation worked pretty well if they want to run with that.
