Cliff notes for you lazy muthafuckas:
-No more cringing when we see black [superheros] on screen (sorry Rhodey) (but you cool Blade)
-MLK didn't die so we could see rape camps on the big screen
-Black films saved the film industry in the 70s
-Black Panther so lit
Not to go on too much of a tangent, but that's a real mixed blessing. Hollywood made money off exploitation films and while we got Jim Brown and Pam Grier, we also got lots of stuff like Blackenstein and Dolemite and urban stereotypes that we're still fighting against.

I can agree with that.

What are your thoughts on Black Dynamite? I remember seeing that Michael Jai White movie a while back and it was hilarious and seemed to embrace the Blaxploitation aspect of it.
Rise of Black Panther #1 = 40,897
BP #169 = 21,321. Last month was 22,492

I liked it but it was making fun of the low end stuff like Dolemite. I think some folks want to take it more serious than it takes itself.

Can we throw in "Good natured black kid struggling to make it out of the inner city" movies too? So, you guys are the people to ask, Comixology is having a BP sale right now, so which run should I try first, I was thinking about Priest and Mcgregor. I tried reading Coates run...not a fan.

Let's see how the series does overall. It's off to a good start so far.
If it can keep close to that level of sales then that would give it a shot at an ongoing or give Narcisse a shot at the current solo.
Can you do the comparisons to WoW and The Crew & Black Panther No# 1s?

You can do McGregor then Priest, Hudlin and Liss.
Yes, I recommended McGregor. Surprising to me too.

I would say yes. I'd throw in Kirby too, but it's really not everyone's cup of tea.

WoW #1 = 57,403
BP and Crew #1 = 35,604

I would say sample some of each if its a sale.
McGregor jungle action 6-18
Priest 1-12
Hudlin 1-6
Then you can decide which you like the most and go from there.

Thanks Cville.
So we can guess that WoW's success can be attributed the initial success of the BP solo launch and The Crew's lack of success to some fans coming to the conclusion that this was just another stealth title that they wanted no part of.
Next comparison will be the number 2s to see the level of drop off.
