I'm guessing Marvel will likely make a mini series based loosely off the movie when it drops or make a another solo or something to tie to the movie and grab some of That hype.. if they are smart. Hopefully they do it right and get someone like Coogler who likes BP to elevate him.
Well, like many of us stated in the recent past, the Coates title sells so they'll probably keep doing it until it doesn't. Having said that, I completely expect to see some side titles, depending on the creative teams, I'm totally looking forward to seeing that.
Stuff I saw in the trailer came from Lee, Kirby, Preist, Hudlin, and McGregor.
Hmm...I like every creator you mentioned and I saw a two minute trailer for an average action movie...

The primary reasons why Coates BP solo is still selling is die to the fact that readers loyal to the character who actually hate the current direction of the book, are still buying alongside those that like it and new readers unfamiliar with pre-Coates BP.
The fact that there weren't enough readers to keep BP:WoW and BP:Crew from getting cancelled pretty much confirms this.

Well, this is an issue for comics in general... if you don't like a title please stop buying it. Otherwise Marvel has no reason to change that direction.
This is the truth. Luke Cage is a major example. It was called racist by certain people. Black conservatives and conservatives as a whole called it a thug show. Some are calling it the worst series of the Netflix Shows despite all the shows suffering from same negative things that effects it (being too long, writing losing steam, unanswered plot questions, pacing, etc). Black feminist were satisfied with Misty Knight and black women running the police but when they find out Mike Colters wife is white is when things got bad. But you'll never hear about Alfre Woodard's white husband. When Iron Fist came out they tried to say that Luke cage sucked to justify Iron Fist being good. Most of them obviously felt that Iron Fist got bad reviews because of the backlash to him being white and Luke Cage got good reviews because he's black. Even though Luke's reviews were for episodes 1-7, the ones everyone universally agrees was the best part of the show. Every time something Netflix news related happens there's always Luke Cage bashing ("Please be better than Luke Cage", "I hope it doesn't suck like Luke Cage"). Even if Black Panther is successful it would get major criticism from keyboard warriors no matter what. With the movie most likely being successful it would open the door for more faith put into to black heroes by studios. I have a feeling that John Stewart being in Green Lantern Corps is WB decision not a Geoff Johns decision considering how much he loves Hal Jordan. Hal Jordan fans are definitely not going to like that. Cyborg is still a blank space but it could lead to something for him too. Maybe even the Milestone characters. This movie is gonna cause a major stir. With Black Panthers major black female cast black feminist are going crazy for it, some even calling for a dang Dora Milaje spin off and they actually find Coates version to be the best depiction. The Simps are going along with it saying "Coates set the Dora Milaje straight". If you go to the trailer on YouTube by looks of the comments the racist are already triggered. When the movie comes it'll be with more controversy than Wonder Woman (some people already looking for the all black theatre showings 9 months out) all we can do is hope the film is everything is what everyone expects it to be.
There were two, likely three things from Coates run as well. Ayo, Kimoyo beads (if you look carefully you see Erik,
an Nakia sporting them in some scenes) and the likely Force push. Which Honestly if that how it's used Then I'm good with it showing up as it's used as supplementary to his fighting style, rather then being completely reliant on it like the comic version.

Isn't Lupita's character in the upcoming movie
suppose to be a villain or something, she turns to Killmonger's side? that's a rumor i heard
-
Even though it's just a teaser but my family and I have decided that this is a 3D/day one event. I've been hyped for this since Black Panther's debut in Civil War and looks like this film will do him justice. With that being said from what I've read in this thread I'm disappointed with the way the BP solo is going but whatever.

can i ask a question
How exactly has Klaue been a threat to Wakanda and T'challa
at least Killmonger is a worthy opponent, with equal fighting skills
what makes Klaue so dangerous? seems like just another arms dealer

I'm Sorry about that, I use quick reply from my phone. I type a lot words and sometimes I miss words or make lazy written post because it's coming out of my head faster than I type it. I'll try to make my post easier to understand.

Christian Ward (who does the art for Black Bolt) made some fanart after the trailer dropped:

Coates and the folks that greenlit his take on BP.

While this isn't about Black Panther per say these quotes explain why you got folks acting the way they are over WW & BP.

The internet is not the same place it was ten years ago with movies like The Ring were made. The culture has changed and people have become much more aware of things like whitewashing and the lack of proper representation in the media. These are very real issues that have a much bigger spotlight on them now. To think that nothing has changed culturally in ten years completely misses the point. This is a concern now, this is an issue now, and to disregard it like it’s nothing is disrespectful to everyone involved.
There is a reason women are crying during Wonder Woman. There is a reason people are losing their minds over Black Panther. If you can’t see that, if you aren’t even willing to acknowledge it, then you’re not going to make it in this business.
I dont think, and I believe this to be the god's honest truth, that most Americans radar are attuned to any media that DOESNT have a white face attached to it. Is that an absolutist statement? Of course not, but more often than not these remakes of excellent Asian films (Like the upcoming THE RAID remake) or anime (like the aforementioned DEATH NOTE) wouldn't be needed if people we'rent so averse to seeing movies with people who don't look like them.
