If we're talking the movie I'm not sure but I do think they could make Shuri more workable as a character. A strength of the MCU has been taking characters people don't really like or care about and giving them a twist that makes people go for them.
Liss did a good job with what he had, Jason Aaron did a Hybrid Hudlin/Priest like Panther, in terms of Priest like prep and hudlin like Badassery, but less Tech. Did you read original sin?
Aaron nailed that Priest/Hudlin like Panther there as well.

Yeah, T'Challa had a petty decent showing in OS.
True is was a no win situation, but in NA Every good thing Hickman had T'Challa do was either Preceded by, or followed by, some terrible blunder. He one punch knocked out Black swan and her henchman pretty handily, but prior to that let Wakanda's Future die, He beat Black Dwarf and followed that by saying he only one by sheer luck that they retreated and had they fought longer, he would of llost, he lied and hid what was going on in the illuminate from Wakanda and Shuri (this is a trait T'Challa has NEVER had, he was always honest if someone asked him something directly) Let Wakanda be destroyed because of his blunders, the Cabal Survived because he was being arrogant. Cried and was scolded like a child by his dad when he refused destroy that work that the Justice league was on (T'Challa would NEVER cry, he would of held firm and stoic to his decision) Had no cap on his emotions and screamed at Namor that he would kill him (he has complete control over his emotions even when M'Baku killed his future self, he mourned alone and if someone were to see him, he would put on his poker face again). you can show a no win situation without compromising how a character acts
Exactly.

I'll certainly agree T'Challa like everyone else dropped the ball many many times in this story. No except Doom really ended up looking good.
But as far as him losing control of his emotions .... I think any version would have in that particular situations.

I agree. In the movie, they're really going to have to give his supporting cast some meaning other than "Joe Wakandan on the street" or "Redshirt #3".
Two strong Black females. We definitely can't afford to lose any more of those. And both possibly in the same book with Ramonda and the Doras? Last time we had that many Black females in one book was...Black Panther.
In fact, looks like the only place you'll see black females of any significance in the MCU will be in...the Black Panther movie.
Crazy when you think about it.

At the bold: We'll have to agree to disagree on that one.

I say she's probably among the easiest supporting characters to integrate into a film. In fact, integrating most of T'Challa's supporting cast into the film (not counting the villains) shouldn't be too difficult. It'll be a matter of who do you pick for the movie.
Some people have been concerned about her being a BP on the big screen at some point, but Shuri doesn't need to be a BP to have the positive qualities that she ended up having in the comics.
Add the fact that, depending on the art, she can pass off for a Lupita N'Yongo lookalike...that's a shoe-in role for Lupita, who's already involved with Disney via Star Wars.

We can agree to disagree then because I honestly can buy pretty anyone cracking in that situation.

Alot of them Didn't drop the ball as bad as T'Challa was shown, Reed is actually the one who came out the most unscathed (yes he lost his family but they popped right back up in SW) and to add insult to injury, he Showed Reed being the one to outsmart Steve and the Shield Avengers.. Reed, over T'Challa who is a tactical genius... was sidelined to a sidekick role so that Reed could take his bread and butter.
T'Challa has always had control over his emotions, he wouldn't cry over refusing to blow up a planet, He would definitely stand up to his dad and not let him scold him like a child because he was standing by his belief. and he wouldnt have screamed at namor like tht. he would of been deathly calm and told him he WILL die for what he did to Wakanda. Priests version, Definitely Hudlin's, JA's Version. All of them would not lose their cool like that, Why? because thta is apart of T'Challa's Character, he ALWAYS is in control of his emotions.

Did we see anyone else cracking up in the Illuminati and crying like a baby?
No, we didn't.

Honestly I think she's also potentially easy to overlook just because of how she basically just appeared out of thin air one day. And I say this as someone that likes the character but it's almost more work to incorporate her into T'Challa's past that it is to exclude her simply because she wasn't actually there for so much of it. That said I do believe she's potentially worth the effort.

Co-signed to the max.
Hickman's T'Challa was one continual frak up after another.

It honestly takes little to no effort to incorporate her imo

If they didn't want to make her a BP, then they could make her the Leader presiding over the Doras, she is the one who chooses who is worthy to become one and as the leader of them, she is an elite and completely capable/competent warrior. They could be like her personal elite guard and protectors of the royal family
