how many Essential Panther TPB's have been released by Marvel so far?
I thought just the one in Essential format. After that, they've switched to Epic Collections.

Just the one essential, collecting McGregor's Jungle Action run. You can get that same group of comics in the epic collection of Panther's Rage, IIRC.
Edit: correction, the essential volume also includes issues 1-10 of Jack Kirby's run. Pretty sure that can be found separately though as well. The essential volume seems like it goes for higher prices now that it is out of print.
so is this supposed to be 616? and if so is it stuff thar happened in the past or will it reflect where he is now?? at any rate sounds very nice all the major players are returning.
Given the Midnight Angels are on the cover we can assume at least one story reflects what's happening now.
Though covers can be deceiving.

Just to play devil's advocate, someone had the budget to do sci-fi movies with Will Smith back in the day...

Will Smith movies can justify a big budget because it's Will Smith. Same won't necessarily be true for a BP movie back in the day unless Will Smith is playing him. Marvel movies are billion dollar franchise now, but it took time to get there.

CGI is really a lot better than it was 10 years ago.
Even before that, you probably couldn't have pulled off a Spider Man movie before 2000. Not without him looking like Gumby.
Those scenes where BP is jumping from car to building to car again would have looked like garbage 10 years ago if they could have done at all,
no matter how much money they thru at it.

WOW. Would've never thought I'd see this! So hyped.

Pretty much. I'm glad that the BP movie is being made at a time when they can really do it justice.
Can you imagine how Wakanda would have looked in a movie made 20 years ago? Heck, even 10 years ago.
And the suit, ugh.
I shudder at the thought.
