I wrote a three-part Lady-Killer serial in ULTRAVERSE PREMIERE, but don't go out hunting for it; it wasn't very good.
I thought it was an interesting line, and enjoyed reading various of the books -- NIGHT MAN, THE STRANGERS and PRIME were the ones I remember following most. But I suspect it was the talent involved more than the series concepts that really made it go, so if the characters were going to be written by people other than their creators (as they were, more and more, toward the end), I lost interest.
I liked THE STRANGERS, for instance, and would have liked to see it run for a good long time. But then, I like Steve Englehart comics. If given a choice between THE STRANGERS written by someone else or a different super-team by Steve, I think I'd be following Steve more than the Strangers.
So I don't feel any great loss at not seeing Marvel revive the Ultraverse -- other than wishing that friends of mine who created various of the characters would get nice royalties and licensing money off them. But I'm not in any hurry to see new people revamp, rework and revive the characters. Reprint collections would be nice, though.
The characters I want to see Marvel rope into the Marvel Universe, now that they're owned by Disney, are The Gargoyles. I think that'd fit really well.

I'd be all for some TPBs of the Ultraverse line.

Just as soon as Warner Bros. and Disney decide it's worth teaming up on a project that won't make them all that much money.
I.e., I wouldn't hold your breath.
I've tried but I can't think of Vampirella as a horror comic. When I think of scary ladies in fiction I think of She or Malicifient (original Snow White, haven't seen the newer movie), characters like Vampirella, Purgatory... I know it's probably sexist of me but I just can't. I haven't managed to read the books of magic yet.
VAMPS not Vampirella :D

How's the G.A. enthusiasm over MCU movies compare to the MU comics of the early 60's of Kirby/Stan?

I'm sorry, I don't understand the question. What's G.A. enthusiasm?
And how do you compare enthusiasm to comics? If you're asking how the enthusiasm of fans for the movies today compares to the enthusiasm of the fans back in the early 60s, I really can't compare -- aside from the fact that we're talking about very different worlds (no internet back then), I was born in 1960, so I was an infant when the FF debuted.
I didn't actually start reading comics regularly until 1974.

Meant to post this earlier ...
Mr. Busiek, I enjoyed your appearance in the Marvel 75th Anniversary, From Pulp to Pop. Was that fun to film? Did you have stuff prepared before hand, or was it done like an interview?

Glad you liked it. It was completely an interview. I actually thought it was for a DVD extra or something. Had no idea it would be on network TV, or I'd have been a lot more nervous.
I can't say there was much glamorous or fun to filming it -- none of the other "guests" were there, and of course neither was our lovely host. But it wasn't an ordeal or anything. Just felt like an interview.
I think they probably should have had less of me and found a way to get Roy Thomas and John Romita in there, but overall it was a fun show.

Mr. Busiek, Tooth & Claw #1 was an amazing experience. Its easily the best debut issue of the year for me, and probably in my top 3 best single issues for the year as well.
But I noticed you name dropped Arrowsmith in the back matter. So you've notbforgotten about it. Any chance we will EVER see the return of that series? Or at least a digital edition released of the first series?

Ah, so there is more from the interview that wasn't broadcast?
I was sort of surprised when they went straight from Stan Lee to Jim Shooter, and completely left out Roy Thomas and Archie Goodwin, in particular. And yes, Johnny Romita -- who on a personal level, was _the_ Spider-Man artist when I was growing up -- was neglected also. :( But I hadn't seen you or Fabian Nic either, so that was really cool.
Wow, I can't believe they didn't tell you, though I wouldn't want you to be nervous. It would be cool to see you and some other creators on an interview / panel, like that. Is there anyone in particular you'd like to be in a panel / interview?
