I would love it if they adapted the red headed league. Even though I don't remember it well it was one of the first sherlock stories I ever saw.

Arrow has cast Brandon Routh as The Atom for season 3. And Robbie Amell will appear on The Flash as Ronnie Raymond/Firestorm.

Smallville's Arrow was going to be Aquaman but when that didn't happen they cast him as the Green Arrow bandit. I think some people have options in their contract that networks can pick up even if they cancel their series. I'd guess CW wanted to keep him the way they kept Jensen Ackels.
ABC kept Vanessa Williams around for a couple series after "Ugly Betty" (I think she said she even had first-read for pilots after Desperate Housewives ended and chose that 666 one)

Yeah, should've been sooner than this, though I think the announcement is nice to have a sprinkle of good news in the day, make things official and all that.
Only watched Season 1 in full, but fair bit of 2, not yet finished. Will have to, as Norman Osborn once said, rectify that inequity soon.
