I've just ordered Harbinger Wars.
Do you really think they won't reprint the OOP ones?
someone on the FB group tweeted at Dinesh, the CEO and he said there are no plans. They are still a smaller business so I imagine they print a certain amount they know they will sell withing a year or two but won't risk a reprint.
I think Complete collection tpbs or omnibuses would be the way to go anyway, the double dipping and reading order confusions makes the VU a bit inaccessible for a more casual reader. And I'm also afraid it will collapse on them like the Ultimate universe did after 8-10 years.

At least there are several digital options to read the Valiant universe. Hoopla, Scribd, or comixology.

Also I think the trades are still in print it's just some of the deluxes that went out.

It's a bit strange, but in some ways I wouldn't be bothered if they folded, at the moment I feel like I have to collect every book and at some point it may get out of hand, if they stop making them, the decision is out of my hands

I just buy what I like. Didn't care for Swierzidlsdfjsldnkcnjjsy's Bloodshot in the crossover so not gonna pick that up in any form. Still on the fence about Shadowman, it has potential but it's irritatingly generic.
Don't know anything about Rai1 and never even seen or heard any mentions of it so far so not gonna bother with it.
On the other hand I'm on issue 4 of Quantum and Woody and really enjoying it. I can see why you didn't like it, it's the same type of story as Fraction's Hawkeye was. I liked that too.
edit: just seen that Shadowman dlx v2 is from a different creative team and Milligan is the writer. I will definitely pick it up then.

I don't see what makes finding an entry point into the VU any different than Marvel or DC. I'll just stay with the Deluxes at this point. I'd like to see them continue to Omni the older material but I understand that's tough as a lot of the original artwork is elsewhere, scattered with collectors etc.
RAI, absolutely one should try RAI. Especially if robots, future mech tech, zany living and concepts about what makes someone alive interest you. On top of that the Clayton Crain artwork is AMAZING!!
I can't stand Q&W myself, read everything VEI has put out. Not my cup of tea but I sample it each time cause I think the concept has merit, just not as it currently is.
Shadowman was 90% unfulfilling for me given my love of the 90's character. VEI rushed him, his intro to readers was not as well thought out.
I don't follow the "I've got to read them all" line of thinking. Sure, some are more interconnected than others. Others aren't connected to another book at all. It's no different with Avengers books and their satellite solo titles or JLA etc. Saying it's somehow a detriment to VEI books is a non sequitur.

Marvel and DC have been going so long with so much that to get involved you just pick something and start there (much to the internets reluctance to just accept that.) Valiant's new starting point still seems in reach.
Timeless comics versus novels is simply number of releases over the years. How many books are released every year in comparison to comic books and how many are completely forgettable?

The little I read of RAI I thought was very good. And yes, the art is quite beautiful.

Yeah, no. Shadowman goes downhill fast after Jordan leaves. And it was never very high to begin with.
I dont care for Rai as much as others seem to but its leagues better than Milligans Shadowman.

I started reading Valiant. I'm up through Harbinger Wars.
Harbinger is AWESOME. Yeah, it's just 90% an X-Men rip, but it's really well done, so who cares? Dysart introduces a ton of new characters at a time and they all feel well-rounded with their own personalities, and he somehow makes you care about each of them in like two panels. Really well done.
XO is a solid B. Venditti is a writer of limited ability so he doesn't really plumb the emotional depths of the concept of Aric being a man who has lost everything in a very unfamiliar world, which is disappointing. But the plot is solid.
Archer and Armstrong has started off strong (reading this now). I'm enjoying the American satire.
Bloodshot sucks. Just . . . yuck. The main character has no personality. He couldn't be less interesting. We're supposed to buy into him and his journey to understand what he is, but how? It's all just so bland and non-descript. Please tell me it gets better.
And Harbinger Wars was a pretty great "event" unlike any event I've ever read from the Big 2, mainly because of the resolution. Nice.

/\ Bloodshot picks up a lot with Lemires Bloodshot Reborn, which spins out of The Valiant.

Nice cover. Can't wait to get my hands on this one. Really hoping vol 2 will follow shortly!
Not only what I regard the run as but also what I'll call it by, "Absolute Wonder Woman" :)

oh dear... is it a good seller though that they are putting out deluxes but not bloody Imperium?

also it was very character focused instead of universe changing and that made every casualty feel heavy, even the ones where you barely knew who the dying were.

Hey guys, need your expertise.
Just bought some kind of pig in a poke (that's what we calls "cat in a sack" in Russia) for a huge amount of money.
It is sealed so seller didn't wanted to open it. But he said this is "From Hell limited box set edition".

Does it looks like From Hell Painfully Limited Edition?
I'll get the package only in a few weeks anyway.
