OK, I'll try here. Does anybody have Hellspawn HC with Templesmith art? Is it any good?
Beautiful art. Horrible, crappy story. And this from someone who is not a Bendis hater.

Its your standard deluxe image hardcover setup, I brought it a year or two back off eBay super cheap, the girlfriend is a massive fan of Templesmiths art and it is a very pretty book.
The first half of the book however is not Templesmith, it is in fact Ashley Wood (this is a good thing Woods art is bloody amazing) heres and example.

Templesmith does the second half of the book, heres a quick example.
Quick update on this one...after seeing your post I sent IDW publishing an email, and received the following response:
A new volume for the Locke & Key Special Edition HC series releases once each year. The next volume in the series, Volume 4 Keys to the Kingdom, is tentatively scheduled for release this summer 2015.
So looks like we will hopefully be able to purchase volume 4 in a few months!
That is fantastic news! Hopefully they finish it out, but i love the first part of Vol 4 that has Bill Watterson doing the art

YESSSSS! Thanks Deviskan!
So summer it is. By the way does anybody here have tried or know if it's possible to combine IDW orders from different lines (AE, IDW limited)? If not I will ask them.
So, ladies and gentlemen, one of the rarest books in my collection finally arrived to my home. And this is a thing of beauty.

This is a limited (only 1000 copies) huge album hardcover with 369 comic strips "Dream of the Rarebit Fiend" of Winsor McCay, reproduced in a full size. Plus a lot of biographical info and photos inside + DVD with more then 800 scanned strips It's a pity I don't have a DVD drive in my laptop haha.
looks beautiful! do you mind taking some more photos from the inside pages? your editions goes for 600+ $ on amazon.com markeplace. wow, this is high-end collecting, for the man who has it all... ;)

First Fantagraphics book ever.

Guys, can anyone tell me what we can expect from next month's Lock and Key Master Edition Vol. 1? I don't own any IDW books so I don't know what to expect... Is it going to be oversized? Does IDW use dustjackets? What about their bindings and paper?
Thanks in advance!
My haul for the past week, had some catching up to do

You need more Tardi, Clowes, Ware, Woodring, Barks, Rosa, Gotfredsson, Krigstein, Wolverton and Los Bros Hernandez in your life then ;)
On a more serious note "It was the war of the trenches" is an absolute masterpiece, the three Manchette/Tardi books that Fanta has published are ace as well.
My favorite things from Fantagraphics are probably the beautiful Complete Peanuts books and the Love and Rockets books.

Googled Trilogy USA and it looks gorgeaus, but what the story is about? I'm not too experienced in euro comics so I donno if it's my cup of tea or not but the art is crtainly intriguing in these books.
So far I've read and liked Blacksad (but who doesn't) some Asterix and Tintin.
Didn't like Incal too much. Appreciated it but wasn't my thing.
Also never even heard about Tardi before, but everybody just keep praising that book, but I'm not sure if I want to see another book about the horrors of war, no matter how good it is ( I mean I get it, it is awful. Truly awful. I'm a pacifist, I get it....although I enjoyed Fury, the latest Brad Pitt war flick).
My anniversary Metabarons arrived this afternoon, along with a ton of other stuff.
Is that new version of The Metabarons any different than the old one?
Looks like it has a rounded spine for starters, so that's different. Is there any extra's in the books RedNave? The previous version 'just' has the story.
And what's that top book? The title is hilarious!

is it out already? i've got it pre-ordered on Amazon, who have a good price for this edition but a strange relationship with Humanoid books, if i understand correctly, so i'm a bit worried.

There is an after-word and that's about all the extras I can see. It's a nice edition.
It's the 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' parody self-help book.

Amazon originally said I wouldn't have it to the 20th, then I got the shipping notice yesterday. Amazon love me when it comes to Humanoids book.
Does anyone else have trouble with DMZ and Y The Last Man hardcovers being stiff to open? I have tried the "proper" way to work in new hardcovers but it doesn't seem to work a whole lot. Do any of the other volumes suffer from the same thing?

That's just how DC do books. All DC books except for Absolute editions and some omnibuses are stiff as corpse.

That's a shame , thanks for the response
That's a shame , thanks for the response
Ur welcome. When it comes to Y The Last Man though... This will be released as Absolute editions too. They're quite an investment, but you'll never have to upgrade again. Y really deserves the absolute treatment, so you might want to consider going that route instead of the deluxe hardcovers.

yes, i can see it's in stock on Amazon UK. i pre-ordered mine on Amazon US, where there's still no sign of it, damn. fingers crossed it'll be there soon as well.
Just finished "My Friend Dahmer". My god, what a great but utterly, utterly dark book. I need to read something uplifting now before I go to bed.

Trilogy USA is a gorgeous book. Three separate stories done in a crime noir style. The first is about a femme fatale, the second about a dude looking for justice and the third is about solving the murder of an aspiring actress and her missing friend. The first two stories are great but I felt the third one was boring. Still, some of Hermann's best stuff. I haven't read Tardi yet but once I finish Hole of Tank Girl, I'll be diving right into it.

I've NEVER got any humanoids books from Amazon.com. So now it's time to cancel my preorder from .com and order one copy from Amazon.co.uk, I think

Yeah amazon UK and DE have always delivered my ordered and pre ordered Humanoids books.

I never got my pre-ordered Before the Incal, but I decided to roll the dice on this one since the price was the best around. The release date is listed as the 19th so we'll see what happens.
Does anyone know if cheapgraphicnovels.com gets their books from Diamond Distributors? Also, are the publishers aware of how many copies of a book are sold to the general public?
I ask cause even though I'm just one person, I like to think that when I buy graphic novels, it encourages the publishers to print more books because of the demand.

I've yet to have a problem with .co.uk, in fact quite the opposite. Every single one of my pre-orders of Humanoids books have come well in advance, like my famous copy of the Final Incal which came about 6 months before general release.

You have to warm em up, but after a while they just fall apart in your hands.
Oh no wait, that's Top Cow books... And corpses.
Got these ones today via amazon UK today and from a local bookstore the eurocomics.

More pictures of Sculptor, please. :D

last week's arrivals. sculptor started like a somehow ordinary magical realism tale (a genre which i don't like very much) but now that i'm half through it, i have to say it's pretty amazing. if it manages to end on a high note, this one could become one of the medium's classic works.
Yeah amazon UK and DE have always delivered my ordered and pre ordered Humanoids books.
i got mine from amazon.it, which is also mostly cheaper, at least when it comes to non-mainstream publishers.
Ok, I am convinced, and I have just ordered The Sculptor bookplate edition at FP.com.

i just did that. also, good people of Amazon UK CS waived the shipping fee, so my total is now lower than the pre-order price + shipping on Amazon US.
thanks to RedNave :)
by the way, Stas, I was under the impression you already had The Metabarons collection, one of those ultimate oversized ones or how it was called. i guess i might be confusing you with someone else... i've seen too much shelfporn! :)
