Of that list, I would remove Green Arrow (it's pretty good, but places in comparison to other books on the list), Star Wars: Shattered Empire (it's not good), Batman: The Golden Age (I found the stories almost unreadable), Spider-Man Omnibus, Dark Tower, 52, and Nameless (it's bad).
I assume you read the first volume of DMZ as you only want volumes 2-5. You can decide if you want to keep reading it or not based on that.
I would go Lazarus 1-2, East of West, Absolute Watchmen, and the first Absolute Sandman. That might be a little over $150 on instock though.
52 "bad"??! 52 is incredible, and pretty much everyone loves it.
OK, cool. I don't mind a slow burn but I did not like Moore's Strangers in Paradise although I suspect this is much different.
Yeah I didn't like SiP either (but i was a lot younger when I read it) but this was very different and very riveting.
I need help making a decision.

Sleeper Omnibus
Absolute Sandman 1-5
DMZ or Scalped :) !
Scalped.
DMZ starts off great and then really gets silly. It does, however, turn around toward the end. Scapled (so far for me) has remained strong the whole way through.

I think I need to give scalped a go, I had the first DMZ hc but I sold it as it bored me to be honest

it's really good, if you didn't want to pick it up based on Aaron's Marvel books, don't worry, it's completely different.

As of now I only have 2 books on order, due to a large backlog and an impending house move, Locke & Key Master edition 3 and fight club LE but I may put scalped in my speedyhen basket to order when moved.
Oh and just finished Ivar, Timewalker, my new favourite Valiant book
Also.... I'm thinking of re-buying Lucifer as I sold the trades (and floppies) a while ago, have DC re-released these as big, hellblazer sized trades?

Yep, Five volumes starting here https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lucifer-Book-One-Mike-Carey/dp/1401240267/

IST now also has the Rachel Rising omnibus back in stock.
So are there only 3 omnibus collections(or just collections in general really) of the classic/original Valiant comics? Anyone know if more are planned?
None have yet been announced. I suspect they will do more though. Ninjak, Eternal Warrior and Dr. Mirage are all ones they can do where there are no legal issues so I expect those at some point.

Question for Artist/Gallery edition (or just books of that size like the Hal Foster Tarzans) owners: what is the cheapest but most secure option to display these books?
Like I want to put them on top of my shelves so I guess some type of painting stand maybe? But with what dimensions?
Advises are, as always, greatly appreciated.
-
I have a couple prints i stand on the top of my shelf about those size. You can use frame/art stands that you can find at arts and crafts stores. They have a wide range of sizes and durability (for the heavier stuff). I think i only paid like $4 a piece for mine.

I hope they finish the XO run and collect some Bloodshot too.
And yeah, with the legal issues, I doubt we'll see the Acclaim side ever reprinted

thanks. I will have to look for stands next time I'm going to town, I've only seen them with the canvases but I wasn't specifically looking for them at that time.

Yup. I use an easel as well:

Just got my first artist ed and was wondering about this very problem of how to display it. :P

Did they every re-release the hardcover of Elephantmen volume 2 to match Vol 0, 1, and 3-6? Looking at my shelf and just noticed(and remembered) the difference.

I sold my elephantmen but if memory serves vols 1 and 2 had different spines to 0, 3, 4, 5 and 6 but you could order matching dust jackets for vols 1 and 2 off the elephantmen website (if you live in the states) I tried to get them for a while (I live in the UK) but a few emails passed back and forth between me and whoever wrote it (name escapes me) but I never did get the new covers.
Also I think they re-released vols 1 and 2 to match
-
Have they stopped producing the Elephantmen hardcovers?
-
Havnt seen any in a while. And theyve been doing those Mammoth Edition and the regular sized TPBs so its probably not looking good.

Yeah, I have the re-released volume 1, but I can't find anything about a re-released volume 2

So I decided to order, Lazarus 1&2, Scalped vol 1, East of West, Sleeper Omnibus, and Black Science. Now to get the Absolute editions in two weeks. Hopefully they don't go out of print by then lol. I will have a little more money to play with then too.
Thanks for the suggestions.

You're going to love EoW, Lazarus and Black Science.

I apologize if this is wrong spot to ask this question but is there issues with Black Science HC? I'm about to order one my self.

It's just glued, a result of a rushed "2nd" print to correct some printing errors. Not up to the usual image standards, but not bad enough to tell you not to get it.

The first print was recalled and pulped because of undersized or faded text in the speech bubbles. It was reprinted, but with lower construction quality than the scrapped first print (probably to save money). Not all stores sent their books back for the corrected version.
The first print has a sewn binding and header ribbons. The second print is glued with no ribbons. Some people prefer the first print because they love sewn bindings and the error isn't really so bad (it's certainly readable).
Don't let any of this stop you from buying. There's a 95% chance you'll get the newer printing, particularly if you buy online, and if not the original printing isn't so bad anyway. It's a great book.

That's a damn shame if true.

Has anybody seen the new From Hell HC somewhere? Is there any increase in quality regarding binding, reproduction, etc? It might be the right time to upgrade my paperback.
I mainly ask because IDW's stuff is usually top notch, but am not sure if the "old" Top Shelf HC was also made by IDW.

Also interested in this, but mainly if the paper quality is better than the previous hardback, which is basically tissue paper (like actually, though) and totally sucks.

Don't think I would find The Boys definitive editon vol 3 for decent money. What editions should I get to fill this gap and just read missing isssues, I believe 31-38.

Yes as well as 1-4 of Herogasm which was a limited series.

Damn, didn't realize this was asking so much. Try calling a few local comic shops, they may have one, especially near bigger cities
What's the best/most complete way to read Zot! nowadays?

Hello guys, I will be in Amsterdam in the end of the week, could you recommend me any comicbook stores? Thanks a lot!

either the complete tpb or the hc version. Haven't checked prices in like 2-3 years but the hc is probably more expensive while back then I got the tpb for like 5-6 quid.
There were a series that's not collected in the chunky trade but honestly you don't need it. While Zot! is great as a whole the best stuff is in the second half of the trade and I honestly don't need anything written before this book.
Not saying the first half is bad but it is fairly standard fun superhero silliness which gets slapped in the face by real life halfway through. The issue about one of the characters dealing with being gay is beautiful.

CIA Comics.
They have 2 stores, which are both worth a visit.
Zeedijk 31 (Mostly new stuff) & Keizersgracht 190 (New stuff & back issues)

Thanks, I'll look into them. I'm kind of a completionist though....

Somebody's planning to get Jerusalem by Aan Moore? Gosh is selling HC with stricly limited bookplate from today, no mail orders, and I think I'm gonna grab it. Don't want to read it, but I might trade it for soemthing OOP in future.
