So Rocky, Adam and Tommy all ended up opening martial arts dojos?
And Gia has not had a good Anyone notice Gia is really having a terrible anniversary year?
-Reduced to Damsel in Distress in Dino Mega Charge
-Not much to do in "Dimensions In Danger"
-[spoil]Was shown to have fallen in Shattered Grid[/spoil]

I didn't watch Dino Super Charge or much of DC in general, but I didn't know Gia made an appearance. What's the story behind that?

It's just a very short fan film, but these people got the actual Gia's actress and the Red Ranger's actor from Dinocharge. The short has some nice references to the oldest seasons.
I wonder if its some overcompensation from the writers over the fact that Tommy's generation didn't really accomplish much compared to his successors. I mean, it wasn't even the MMPR team that defeated Rita and Zedd. TJ and company did that. And then you have Forever Red, where Cole, the rookie red ranger, destroys Serpentera, something Tommy and Jason were never able to do. That's got to be embarrassing for a guy considered a "legend" in the Power Rangers universe.
This is the reason of why I think Tommy is overrated. Dino Thunder was the first time his team actually defeated the main villain from the season. There are also many rangers who have a better character development or major achivments than Tommy.
One of the many things I like from Forever Red it's that all the red rangers got a moment of spotlight, and at the end, it was Cole who saves the day, and then all the other red rangers said why they are better than Tommy. And on Once a Ranger, instead of Tommy we had Adam as the old hero.

I don't know if it's overcompensation so much as just leaning in to the fact that Tommy is essentially Power Rangers' Jesus. MMPR doesn't really need to be hyped up since it's the only one the general public really remembers, despite there being several later seasons that are objectively better produced in nearly every single way. And of the original cast JDF was the spotlight grabber. Apparently when Tommy was written out of the show (because they had no more green ranger footage) kids got so upset at this that parents were writing the network about it, leading to his return as the white ranger when I don't think that was the original plan.
And, love him or hate him, no one has done more to promote Power Rangers than JDF has. So while the Tommy focus is exhausting for those of us who like a lot more about the franchise than just Tommy, it's not really a surprise or even unearned per se. And I say that as someone who, of the original ranger cast, likes pretty much every character more than Tommy.

Ahh, that's the short that just came out recently.
Forerever Red was incredibly well balanced compared to any of our anniversaries.

Precisely.
Also people don't really take into account how everything around us effects what we're doing. When Forever Red dropped there was no social media that JDF was pimping out, no platform to inflate his ego before coming in to film, and he wasn't green so the weight of that ranger's popularity wasn't disproportionate to the others.
What's sad is that this perception of Tommy wasn't always like this until JDF found technology. Meaning Saban is in charge of the overall perception of the masses. They can course correct this easily by not giving him so much spotlight and treating other ranger's equally.
Hopefully Hasbro isn't as pandering and tunnel visioned with their team-ups.

With the movie getting a sequel, how would you guys like them to handle the Zeo saga assuming they ever get there? Should they use the Zeo cast or just give the Zeo powers to the Mighty Morphin team?

Would you keep Jason and Billy around if that were the case? Billy was the tech guy and Jason was the Gold Ranger.

Jason I don't think would need to be kept as you already have Trey. Billy would be tricky. I suppose I'd have to replace him as the tech guy. Maybe with another Alpha.

The only thing that i didn't lke in the new anniversary episode were the hideous sound effects and the complete lack of the original morphing sequences for the legendary characters.
it was a blast seeing the White Falcon Zord back in action and i also like the explanation the gave for Tommy's Green Ranger/White Ranger appearances.

Okay, I keep hearing about this animosity between Jason David Frank and Austin St. John. Can someone clue me in exactly what's that supposed to be about?

J.D.F said that Austin trashed him for his martial skills but there were rumours that there was a dispute from way back and it escalulated.

I haven't heard about it escalating recently more of a case that they just don't get along...which is fine. Your not gunna get along with everyone. Both of them get along with the other OG members swimmingly so im sure its not one particular person's character flaw...sometimes you just meet people you dont' click with .
The few times they have been in public together they were professional and that's really all you can ask.

Really, that's been my most consistent problem with PR ever since Dino Thunder's first morph. Using dollar-store plastic laser gun sound effects for the dino morphers? Gah.
Sound effects were getting simpler in the late 90s. Ninja Storm revitalized it, and then Dino Thunder regressed. The sad thing is, in 2018, they're still using that same sound effect, plus laser sound effects for kicks and landing from jumps, for some inexplicable reason.

In which i hope Hasbro doesn't make the same mistakes happened during the Disney Era and Neo Saban Era.
- A good season that balances the Action, Storytelling, Drama and Humor.
- Improve the soundtrack because Noam Keniell is terrible.
- Do not Pander the MMPR nostalgia.
