Glad I pre-ordered Hickman FF v2 last night, that was a good decision.
Just used the amazon code to knock $10 off shipping on a few books. I noticed that the Geoff Johns Green Lantern Omnibus v2 was ~$64 so ordered that too.

Basically go to any Barnes and Noble store and purchase $75 worth of gift cards and you will receive a free $10 gift card to be used after December 26. I did this offer last year during the Criterion sale, bought a gift card of $75 and received a free $10 gift card, went back the next day and purchased what I wanted (I don't think you can purchase the same day you buy the gift card). I did this a few times and got $30 bucks worth of gift cards to be used after the 26th. Since the deal goes BN buy 2 get 1 free sale goes until January 8, people already spending money during the sale may be able to get some extra gift cards to spend for other purchases. I know this process is a little tedious and not sure if it applies online or to overseas members, but figured I'd share.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Good advice. You can also send the gift card to yourself online. Which is what I did both this and last year.
Regarding pairing books I always end up purchasing 3 books within $5-6 of each other so that the discount for each one is roughly the same. Its weird that it almost always comes out to roughly 60% off per book.

I bought 3 different 75 dollar gift cards in one go, should I be getting 3 10 dollar gift cards then?
Just bought Gotham City Sirens Book One, Infinity Gauntlet and Captain America by Ed Brubaker vol. 4. Thanks for letting everyone know about the B&N 30% coupon! And don't worry, I'll still go to my LCS tomorrow morning :D
I thought the B2G1 wasn't valid on pre-orders?
Or is it not valid if the books are all pre-orders?
I bought 3 different 75 dollar gift cards in one go, should I be getting 3 10 dollar gift cards then?
I believe so, I've only purchased the gift cards in store so I'm not 100% sure.

Isn't it already out?
Oh God, do I take the chance and get Colossal Conan from Amazon?
Nope. Why would you? Even with the coupon Colossal Conan is $92 (+tax) at amazon, with crappy amazon packing. Get it from IST for $82.50 - tax and shipping included - with excellent IST packing. Never order anything from Amazon without first checking at IST or CGN.

Do you remember when you got the bonus gift cards? Cause I bought them this morning but have yet to recieve an e-mail.

I didn't pay attention to the max discount of $10.

The fourth Cap Omnibus doesn't hit the DM until Wednesday. BN's release date is two weeks later on December 16.
But I'm dumb I assumed he was buying bigger books. The last trade of Brubaker's run has been out for ages. I just assumed he meant the Omnibus since he had Infinity Gauntlet in there too, but I guess that could be the TPB instead.
Do you remember when you got the bonus gift cards? Cause I bought them this morning but have yet to recieve an e-mail.
I got them in store the very day I bought my gift cards
Super bummed that the Cable and Deadpool omnibus is sold out on B&N again :(

I'm not very familiar with Marvel titles so when I did a search the only thing that came up was the TPB and the Premier Hardcover. I to assumed he was ordering large books like most members were doing.
On another note, I guess I'm going to have to decide between some IST orders or taking a chance on B&N and their shipping unless I can scrounge up some loose change.
This is the reply I received from B&N regarding the FF Hickman Vol. 2 Omnibus:
"Also, upon checking on our website and our inventory, we regret to inform you that this particular book "Fantastic Four by Jonathan Hickman Omnibus Volume 2" is no longer available through BN.com.
Or, there is a possibility that the item had disappeared to your cart because this is no longer available. on our website.
We would like to inform you that product availability is based on inventory that can change at any time, based on demand for the product. We are sorry for that you were unable to avail this promotion."
I suppose there is always hope they'll get it in back in before the end of the year and we can use any December discounts along with the 3for2.

Hmm, I've been thinking the same thing. It would work out at $97.36 (incl. est.shipping of $12.98). That's basically a 50% discount. I just don't know whether to pull the trigger or wait for a better offer some time in the future.
If placing an order at TFAW, use the code NAMOR to get $10 off the shipping method you choose.
Just wanted to thank you for posting this. Just placed my first order with TFAW since they're having their Black Friday Sale. As long your not ordering a bunch of Omnibus you should be able to get free USPS economy shipping. Picked up Hellboy: The First 20 Years, Hellboy: LE v06 and the two Alien Legion Omnibus.
Noticed a few deals if anyone is interested.
Hellboy: Library Edition Volume 6 - 60% off - $19.99 (Noticed a member or two mention missing out on this deal through CGN)
Hellboy: The First 20 Years HC - 70% off - $5.99 (Nick & Dent so may not be available anymore)
Blacksad HC - 60% off - $11.99
Blacksad: Silent Hell HC - 60% - $7.99
Luminae HC: Volume 1 - 50% off - $12.49 (Nick & Dent so may not be available anymore)
It has been perhaps already asked but why is Chris Ware Building Stories 242 pages HC so cheap here?

Bleedingcool brought attention to it initially when it was going for £4.99!! by calling it a price glitch. It's now increased to £7.49 which is equally price glitch worthy ;)
Dunno, before it was even cheaper... still didn't buy it though. ;)

Thanks for the response. What's strange for me is that the price glitch is also echoed in the the "used" and "like new" marketplace.
Um.... can somebody do me a favour and link me to the F4 Hickman Omni Vol 2 on B&N. I can't seem to find it, hoping it hasn't sold out already...

Hmm, thanks, may well go with that and find a third book for this order, but that puts me slightly over budget. I could take a chance and hope its there for whenever the next biggish sale is, I suppose. We'll see.

Those sellers that have it at a similar price may use pricebots. If the price goes back up on amazon.co.uk, their prices may very well go back up also.
Just used the B&N b2g1 free and 30% Black Friday code.
Infinity Gauntlet Omnibus
FF4 Byrne Vol 2 Omnibus
X-Men Claremont/Lee Vol 2 Omnibus
Came to $156 (free shipping but had to pay Mass sales tax).
I priced out the same order on Cheap Graphic Novels and it would have been $196 (Includes the $7 shipping), saving $40.
When Trial of CA comes out and if they get Hickman FF 2 back, I might do another. Sent an email to my father with the info, so he could get Howard The Duck, Deadpool (Kelly) and Deadpool & Cable for my son for X-Mas.

This is gonna be a little off topic:
A lot of sellers use bots that automatically lower their prices to remain competitive. That's also why you'll see books listed for $0.01, the bots keep lowering the prices in one cent increments to compete with each other until they're down to their last cent. It's still benificial for the businesses to sell books at this low rate because it increases their quota of books shipped which gets them better shipping rates with carriers.
That my understanding of it at least.
So I've used B&N coupon BFRIDAY14 for the Complete Little Nemo hardcover. -39$ from a total price. Not a bad deal at all!

Oh wow, with the coupon and surprisingly cheap shipping, that's a really great deal for me here in the UK. Can anyone vouch for B&N's packaging though? Would hate to buy a book like that one and see it arrive to me damaged.

B&N's packaging is bad, maybe even worse than Amazon. Couldn't resist their 3 for 2 sale though and bought Infinity Gauntlet omni, Daredevil by Miller omni and Fantastic Four by Hickman omni

It's bad, but, as I understand, Little Nemo is going with a special box from Taschen, so I'm not really worrying about B&N packaging now
Thank you to the poster who put up the 30% B&N code. One thing I don't think I've seen mentioned in regard to any codes from B&N is that you need to be a member in order to use them, even an open code like the black Friday one. I was offered two months free membership if I used a credit card, so I took them up on that in order to get my 30% off, but I thought fence sitters might be made aware.
btw, my order ended up being Byrne FF vol 2 Omni, Wolverine and the X-Men Omni and Annihilation Omni, which came out to $146.03, or about $48 a book. Fairly pleased with that price, as I'm not sure if Annihilation or Byrne FF are ever going to be close to that on their own.
