Monica as lesbian could work -- post-Secret Wars would be the right time to stick to a new status quo for her since Mighty Avengers is probably over. The only worry I'd have with that would be if some writer would later just make her bi to hook her back up with Voodoo or Blue Marvel or some guy. Though I'd hope she'd get a writer who wouldn't turn it into some fetish fantasy.
Yeah... that's one you can probably get away with if they really wanted to go there. The closest thing to a relationship Monica ever had was with Voodoo, and again that wasn't exactly Twilight. More like a fling at least on Monica's end of things.
Yeah, she had a fling with Voodoo. She also had FBI Agent Derek Freeman as a love interest in Stern's run, but he left the book before it could really develop into anything. She was shown out on a date with a guy named Ben in an issue of AVENGERS SPOTLIGHT, which got interrupted when she answered an Avengers distress signal. She commented on thinking that Frank Gianelli was hot in an issue of CAPTAIN MARVEL, but obviously didn't pursue it since she knew Carol had feelings for him. And it looks like there is an attraction between her and Blue Marvel, although thus far it hasn't progressed any further than that.

Although we never actually saw Monica using it on-panel (mainly since she wasn't appearing anywhere at that point), the Pulsar codename DID get referenced once or twice on-panel as a name she had used.

Heh...can you imagine how would their babies be like? They would put Franklin Richards to shame.

Ah, interesting. Thanks.

I actually think it would help her. Marvel are missing a premier lesbian character and, traditionally, lesbians tend to be accepted more and thus stick around more. Especially with Marvel looking to push diversity at last

You have a point. They could remember Karolina Dean, Lightspeed, Rictor, Shatterstar, Karma and Anole instead of outing more heroes only to bury them for years. It seems like they only make gay those characters they don't intend to use anyways ("Here, see? A gay superhero! We are soooo open-minded and politically correct!...Now put it back into the closet where it belongs!").

Who would be her first love interest? A known character or unknown? Also what ethnicity? Would she be.. ahem.. not black? Because it seems like most of the Marvel black hero love interests are with non-blacks..

Is it really "most"? I know that there are some prominent examples (Luke Cage/Jessica Jones, Misty Knight/Iron Fist), but I didn't think it was that extensive. All of Monica's established love interests thus far have been black. Black Panther's love interests have all been black except for one. Most of Luke Cage's girlfriends we saw before Jessica were black (Reva, Claire, Harmony).
Anyway...to answer your question...if a lesbian/bisexual Monica were to have a known character for a love interest, then it probably wouldn't be a black woman. I can't think of any openly lesbian or bi black women in the MU off the top of my head (I said "openly", before anyone mentions Storm. ;) ).

I dont know, I hadn't thought that far ahead. Maybe she could pick up someone from one of the other universes that are being collapsed in, otherwise the only other age appropriate lesbian is Karma (unless Phylla or Moondragon returned to Earth).

They should probably just make up a character to be with her, the way they did with Northstar, if they wanna go that route.
Altering the already established sexuality of a character is probably not something you don't want to overdo.
I really like the flirting that's been going on with Adam. I would like to see it build, since most people complain that they need panel time to warm up to a comic book relationship. before one becomes an actual "comic couple" interactions (i.e. the romace) have to be shown on panel.
Not that I'm against her being lesbian, I'd just REALLY want to see were that goes.
Also, I was trying to come up with a name that matched that Kool-A costume design.
Captain Rambeau sounds kind of dope. powerful and definitive.
Monica Marvel also dope, powerful, and connects her to the Marvel legacy.
Spectra it a little harder sounding then spectrum and I still think this would fit her a little better then the forward especially given the image that was posted before.
Prisma ismy last entry just cuz I think it sounds cool.
what do you guys think?
I think that the relationship with Blue Marvel has serious potential and is the best route to go. Making her lesbian would see a bit left field.

I ship Monica with Voodoo & with D.Freeman as my 2nd choice, so that would not something I'd be interested in reading and it would give marvel another excuse to put another black character in a interracial relationship (the only type of relationship majority of their black characters are currently allowed to be in seems) , when relationships with two black characters in Marvel or almost non-existent currently.
