Love this! So much potential with these two.
I agree that personality and an actual POV takes precedent over feats, however, I do still wish writers approached her powers better. Too many boil down her powerset into the following: metal bending, force fields, and magnetic blasts. That, and treat her as if she's still in the "learning" phase of her abilities and isn't capable of utilizing them in an intelligent fashion. I don't need to, nor want her, to one shot everything to be the hero of every story, but still would like to see writers actually put some thought into her mutant powers, and remember that she trained with Magneto in how to use them on Genosha. She's a lot better than people give her credit for.

The last writer to really remember her skill level post Magneto training on Genosha should be more then what she could do in the 80s had his run end in 2004... we know who. In space she just really did basic stuff at a much greater scale then before. But, yes more advanced stuff again would be pretty neat.
I have no good guesses, but my preference is almost always for her to be on an X-Men book instead of a peripheral title.
There is always the 2000-2001 option where she was on a team that spent alot of time interacting with the main books without being on a main book. Astonishing is focused on Havok's redemption story in the words of the author which Lorna has spent the past year in the comics centered on it she needs something different. As long as she is interacting with the characters on core titles and involved in something bigger then herself it doesn't matter if she is a regular on a title or not.
Sad to hear Blue is ending and that Bunn is leaving the X-books (from what I gather?). A challenge to balance the O5 with all the other great characters & storylines.
Do we think Lorna is heading to limbo? Or is there enough momentum behind her recent associations with Magneto & co on Blue? I think we will better understand where it is best for her to go next as the title winds to a close.

I too was wondering whether she will remain associated with Magneto, appearing in a recurring role a la her time in Genosha. I suppose we'll find out how Bunn leaves it... I would rather she be somewhere than nowhere!

Yes, I was hoping he would get another Magneto ongoing. I knew Blue was done for months back by reading the tea leaves, Amazon.com and the tenor of his comments online.
She is going to be promoted all to hell this Summer and Fall once The Gifted's promotional machine starts up. Last year was as nothing as really Marvel decided to close to only promote the Inhumans and Fox put the vast bulk of its promotion behind the Strucker family as the core to the show.
This year is entirely different where one can already feel Marvel promoting the show more and Fox knows the biggest draw is the Hellfire vs Underground showdown... and Lorna is the most popular member of either team which wasn't a given when they started the show nor did I think they believe she would be as such based on the promotion.
Marvel Publishing I suspect is going to want some of those news fans coming in this Fall and Winter. The real question for them is how to cash in on it while fitting what they are already doing? Plus, October if Lorna's 50th as a character as well.

Her remaining associated with the 05 really isn't an option as they will be gone most likely. Magneto after a fight with them over Emma jumps into the future where the mutant race is wiped out and after that seemingly decides mutant kind needs an alternate vision then Xavier's and likely then reforms the Brotherhood.
At the same point in time there is also Emma Frost who has taken over Hellfire. Its entirely up to the next set of writers. I am sure Bunn put in a pitch for a title after X-Men Blue, but my suspicion is that new editorial wants Magneto as a crossover character for all the X-titles and not just contained to one title.
On the topic of games I looked back at some of the stuff for the first time Lorna was considered important enough to even be an NPC in a video game and that was 2005 below.

The first playable game was X-Men Legos. It was almost the perfect situation were the typical excuse for keeping Lorna out that we don't want characters with redundant power sets (bull you have 5 super strong characters and three Wolverines) didn't apply and what's more Polaris fans asked for her inclusion which in the past they have either been too disorganized or too afraid of doing.
Had that game (X-Men Legends ), YEARS ago how the hell did I miss that art work. And how could the creative team not use that Polaris look she is SPECTACULAR, perfect look for video games and developers.
I preordered X-Men Legends 2, and it came with a comic book that shows how Polaris and Xavier get kidnapped. It was super short, but Holocaust shows up at some kind of speech Xavier was giving, and Polaris tries to defend him by throwing chairs at him, and then gets taken out somehow. I remember I was so excited to get the comic, but was disappointed at how short it was lol. I don't know if I still have it or not, but at least they remembered Lorna existed.

I still have it after all these years, but yes it was good that she finally in that era built up a level of prominence they couldn't completely ignore her the way they had in the past.

They did ignore Lorna's family connections in the main game, but that was part and partial to the primordial scream of the old time fanboys in that era who couldn't accept the change because it wasn't that way in their era of nostalgic comic book buying. I wish Lorna's 90s writers had pulled the trigger on the topic (well Makie did AU at least in Mutant X). Austen and Morrison were really the last era's writers who I believe could have done it before IP protection against giving Fox great ideas started going up as 2002-2003 was really before Marvel Studios was even a dream.
Future Fight right now are leaving off Lorna's parentage while playing up Wanda and Pietro's. I will say in terms of hard core comic book buying online fans they aren't as active or organized as they were in 2003-2005, but she has many more casual fans today thanks to The Gifted.
Hopefully, after Marvel trashed Polaris fandom with her regression to the girl behind Havok in space and her rise in popularity thanks to The Gifted that Polaris fans can start to push back again to get her in games and her parentage respected, because right now its hit and miss. It was respected in X-Men Days of Future Past, but not many other games. If its a pure X-Men game or comic it tends to be respected these days, if its general Marvel universe be it a comic or game its much more iffy.
Lorna's rising popularity overall will slowly mean more respect for the character, but there are alot of 80s to 90s fanboys still active who see her as an unimportant B/C lister so it will take time.
Her Reload costume does look pretty amazing in video game form.
The excuse for not using her traditionally involved them talking about power redundancy, though her being perceived as B or C list played the biggest role I suspect.

Or I had already saved three scans from the issue years ago for a history of the Magnus family in video games discussion which took me no real time to retrieve.

What comic is this?
What comic is this?
It’s from a very special comic as are the other two pages from 2005 in the X-Men Legends II universe as a tie in to the game before it’s release.

Thanks. I always liked Abyss (weird, I don't know why, I guess I like the powers and design), and it surprised me there is a comic that mentions him ive never read. He interacted with Lorna in the Azazel Austen story, she even open the interdimensional portal in his chest.
