Thanks, Lee! I've read about ten of those old Supergirl stories from her series in Action and they never fail to be vastly entertaining, often zany but also very touching at times. I think it's past time to see if the library has the "Showcase presents: Supergirl" volumes and get caught up on the series. (Gotta love that Jim Mooney art! And it's set in an orphanage. And Streaky! And Comet! Supergirl's various reboots have never worked that well because they had all the ingredients for success in her earliest stories. (But, I admit, she couldn't stay in the orphanage forever!))
How old are we considering classic?
I guess I'll have to update my answer to accord it to the rules
2) Classic Comics are considered to be 10 years old or older, please do not create threads about comics that are more recent.
So the newest thing to talk about here this year is from 2004

One of the comics I picked up last night at the lcs sale was Wolverine #1(first series). Great condition and good price. While I have read Wolverine in x books I have never read any of the first Wolverine series. It was good. Well written with decent art. I will definitely be getting more of these.

I've never felt older. Calling 2004 classic? Geez.
Anyway, I just picked up a couple of old Sad Sack issues from Harvey Comics, so those are the most recent classic issues I've read. Still makes me laugh. Easily amused, I guess.

Done with the Justice League Europe run, moved on to Flash annual 4 (Wally West, Barry never had more than one annual before the Nu52)
It's a fine piece by Mark Waid, but seeing he wrote it and it was released in 1990, it's weird to see some things in it retconned by the same writer, like the aura, and the ability to vibrate properly through walls without making them implode

I wouldn't say those were retconned by Waid, Wally just learned about the speed force and learned more control.

I was told the ten years or older was the previous Classic forums rule, if that is not the case let me know.

I'm still trudging my way through the Golden Age Marvel Comics Omnibus Volume 1
So I don't space out, in between I'm also reading all my current floppies and Waid's DD.

Just got my X-Men Days of Future Past hardcover with all the related stories. Love the original story and the Excalibur sequel. My lord, the Wolverine prequel was a bad read. Had to read some classic Cap America with art by Mike Zeck to cleanse my eyes.

Right now I'm reading Batman by Doug Moench and Kelley Jones, Vol. 1.

Marvel's John Carter:Warlord of Mars #1 and Marvel's Kull (early 70s) #3- got both in great shape for $5 each. Pretty good stuff. Great art on both, as you would expect. That John Carter movie could have used that name instead, even if it wasn't the first book in Burroughs' series. The casual viewer wouldn't have known the difference, and it sounds cooler.
