Ah yes, where aliens burned by water invade the planet naked and can travel between planets but can't unlock a door.
New Mutants is a masterpiece in comparison to anything by M Night
Eh, liked both for what they were.
Haven't seen much of Shyamalan, but agree that Signs was really good.
I actually thought the visit was pretty good too.
Let's start with the fact that aliens burned by water are trying to invade a planet that 3/4 OF ITS SURFACE is covered by it. All you'd have to do to thwart that invasion is wait for it to RAIN.
Yeah, it was tense but fell apart when you used your brain.
Honestly, the plot hole could have been fixed easily by just calling them demons, and crop circles are runes to call them forth :P
-
I always thought the implication was that they WERE demons, and the press calling them aliens was just them misunderstanding. After all, the news reports said they were being beaten by, irrc, "traditional" methods, not water. Wouldn't they have just said water if that was it? I think we are meant to ultimately infer that some of them were beaten by different holy tricks, like prayer scrolls in come parts of the word, incense in others, and the water of a holy man in the case of the main characters.

Split was pretty good for what it was. Was Unbreakable terrible? I rewatched the Sixth Sense recently, it wasn't terrible but I think people are a bit too lenient with it because at the time it came out it was very much an 'event' - like, back when going to see films in a theatre was a thing (then waiting a year or so for it to come out on home video), the fact that there was a 'twist' kind of mattered more, so there was word of mouth and buzz about talking about the twist or people seeing it because it was eventful. But it doesn't really have a lot going for it in terms of rewatchability.
And, I haven't seen the fault in our stars but I BET IT IS PRESTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGEEEEEEEEEEEE
(Sorry, I just find that really funny for some reason)

lol well thats not revealed till after a person's seen the film

Doesn’t it bother you that the movie hasn’t a single black person on it cast? Specially with 2 characters being white washed (Cecilia and Roberto)
-
If Disney made "The New Mutants" the way it is, it would have turned into a huge critical and commercial success.
Matter of hype, paid-off journalists and faithful fans.
X-Men fans are the enemy of themselves.
"The New Mutants" is 100% a great movie.
-
Mmh no... Also nick fury change but it's not so drastically for a movie if the actor is choose well

The casting of this film was always problematic. They did Cecelia and Roberto wrong with that

Can you say "Live Action Mulan? Sure you can. Movies like these two and Eternals are what one gets when people like you are listened to.....

I've noticed that when someone makes a list of the X-Men movies, people often forget to put this one on the list.
