As was already mentioned, it's on glossy paper. And it doesn't look great. The reproduction quality is just a step above the Azrael: Fallen Angel trade, imho.
I haven't read it yet, but after a thorough flip-thru, wasn't impressed. Pretty bummed, because I love this run. I have a feeling it'll get dropped just like Dixon's Birds of Prey appears to have been...
Interesting. Sounds disappointing, but I still look forward to checking it out. I ditched my issues years ago when I was out of comics, so I'm grateful for the chance to re-read them again even if the reproduction is poor. Still though, disappointing.

For the Sandman Mystery Theatre question, I think you should ask more about why the first two volumes claimed to be part of a complete set if it was only going to get cancelled. Also I'd ask if the new Books of Magic trades will ever actually be finished or if they will get the same date. Same with Hellblazer.

Wasn't a new Hellblazer just solicited? Same with BoM 2?

Hello all,
Anyone have pics of the newly released Dark Knight Master Race hardcover? Wish they would have given us the Deluxe treatment right off the bat, but if it's a well built book, I'll forgive.
Thanks

I wouldn't worry about HB. It's already two-thirds of the way done and technically - if I'm not mistake - collected in its entirety if you count the old tpbs

Did anyone get The Legion by DnA Volume 1? There are so many Legion reprints these days, I hope you all collect them!, so DC will finish Archie Legion, Legion before Giffen and DnA Legion around two years. I'd like to see a nice deluxe/omnibus for Paul&Keith Legion stories too, followed by 5YL era.

Yes, but you never know. I'm less worried about Hellblazer, but I feel BoM might fall into that same niche category that Sandman Mystery Theatre did and that sales might nix it mid reprint. Anything to let the higher ups know that yes there are those of us who want to buy the whole thing exist, you know.
Also the fact that I've heard from more than a few people that they were waiting on all of SMT to come out before buying...

Anyone have any clue as to whether or not Justice League: Darkseid War will be getting an Absolute edition? It just seems to be a trend with most of Johns' work.

Impossible to know, but the fact that there's an omnibus dedicated to only that story makes it pretty unlikely. I mean, yeah, there was Infinite Crisis, but that had waaaaay more content in the omni than the Absolute. If there were to be an Absolute of this, it would be basically identical content-wise to the omni, so I don't know.
I suppose it is POSSIBLE, though, since, like you said, Johns has a good amount of stories in Absolute format.

I hope there is a volume two for the Books of Magics reprints, I especially want Peter Gross's run to be reprinted. Does anyone have any sales statistics for how BoM Book One sold?
I haven't read DK3 yet (just ordered it last night from IST), but now that you mention it...I would love a Miller omni like that. Last Crusade, DKR, DKSA, DK3, in chronological order. That could be sweet.
Has Miller ever confirmed All Star as being the same universe? Or is that just the fan theory? If it's officially part of things, toss it in there too.
Confirmed. Miller has said it. Same with Spawn/Batman

How could I forget Spawn/Batman? I've never read it, but I remember the ads were everywhere in the 90's when it came out. Is it any good?

No, bad dialogue (Batman calls Spawn a "punk" * among other cringeworthy dialogue), by the numbers predictable, short, substanceless.
*I'm fine with Batman using "punk" some, I generally love Frank, but it didn't fit in this book with this Batman in the context

Thanks. For the sake of comparison, SMT 1 sold 1,326 and SMT 2 sold 963. Hellblazer 15 sold 1,679 and 16 sold 1,543. Could it be that 1K units is the cut off point for the day Vertigo trades? Of course this is only one part of the sales puzzle.
