I hope so. I guess Teen Titans omni volume 3 will really let us know how much they have stepped up their game.

That JLI Omni looks great! I'll be getting one.
Previews/Diamond Comics still doesn't have it listed as a book for next week though. I know 9/27 has been mentioned as it's street date.
No, bad dialogue (Batman calls Spawn a "punk" * among other cringeworthy dialogue), by the numbers predictable, short, substanceless.
*I'm fine with Batman using "punk" some, I generally love Frank, but it didn't fit in this book with this Batman in the context
I can't really see Batman calling someone that looks like Spawn a "punk". Random street muggers sure, but it definitely seems out of place with someone like that. Having said that though, I kiiiiinda wanna see it lol
Most crossovers are pretty poor, but I was hoping it would have a bit of charm like Batman/Punisher. But your description sounds like it's closer to Superman vs Terminator...I might pass after all. Thanks for the insight!
Thanks. For the sake of comparison, SMT 1 sold 1,326 and SMT 2 sold 963. Hellblazer 15 sold 1,679 and 16 sold 1,543. Could it be that 1K units is the cut off point for the day Vertigo trades? Of course this is only one part of the sales puzzle.
Well, maybe if Sandman Mystery Theatre Book 1 sold 1,326 units and with it's followup fell as drastically as it did, then Vertigo would expect Books of Magic Book 1, which sold about roughly 300 units less than SMT, to drop even less than Sandman Mystery Theatre Book 2. So I wouldn't expect a second volume of the Books of Magic reprints.

That book looks great and I"m going to get it. But here's my recollection of the series: It started off very strong but it began to deteriorate (about the time Batman left or a short time later) with stupid jokes and bad humor. I don't know....maybe I wanted something more serious back then. I'm going to revisit it, though.

Oh man, this book was awful and you nailed it - dialogue was horrible.
I recall this was supposed to be huge when it was announced. An amazing writer and the hottest artist at the time. Oddly enough, when I read it, I felt like the joke was on us - Maybe Frank actually drew it and Todd wrote it.
There was another Batman/Spawn released around the same time by Dixon and Janson that was somewhat better if I'm not mistaken.

In which issue did Batman leave?
In which issue did Batman leave?
I'm going by memory but I think it was in an annual. As I recall he was a prominent member of the series for the first year and was probably in it for two years, maybe a little more before quitting.

This guy worked on the coloring/restoration, so he got a comp'd copy.
