If they get the entire run in 2 volumes, I'll be tempted. More than 2 volumes, and I'll pass.

I'm guessing this means we won't be getting a Moore omnibus now then. Swings and roundabouts I suppose.
I don't care for this new coloring business (tho just one issue). Anyway, I won't be getting because I custom bound Swamp Thing into 2 Vols and INCLUDED DC Pres 85 "The Jungle Line" by Alan Moore/Veitch

Excellent news, especially as i got a good price for the regular HC's a few months ago, i knew this would have to come out at some point, and i'm glad they are going to be absolutes rather than an omni

Yes.....Yes.. Yes!!!!!
Been waiting on this one since I got into collecting hardcovers years ago.
DC has done Absolute and Omni versions on select material before.
I'll hold out for the Swamp Thing by Moore Omni, I've waited this long.
It'd be nice if DC finally admits Vertigo didn't even exist during Moore's Swamp Thing by including an issue from a very un-Vertigoy book DC Pres #85...Swamp Thing, Superman, Moore, Veitch, published during the very run.

yeah, i reckon the omni will follow the Absolutes, my preference is for the Absolute
Looking at contents look like we are up for another Vertigo 3 volume absolute series. Not bad in a few years they have knocked out Y the Last Man, Preacher, Transmet, and Swamp Thing. Not sure when the Sandman absolutes came out.
I'll be upgrading to the Absolute ST, but I'm still gonna hold on to my original HC's until they've completed this new format.
Granted a run like this is much less likely to be orphaned/canceled, but this *is* DC, so you never know... ;)
I've got all of the Batman Arkham Villains books. I recommend the Mister Freeze. It has got the great One-Shot from 1997 by Paul Dini and Mark Buckingham reprinted.
Hmmmm, very tempted by Mister Freeze :P
Part of me wanted this in an omnibus so I had it all at once but Absolutes are great. Hopefully they release them at a quick rate and not take 3-4 years.

My sentiments exactly. I'm very excited it's finally coming, but I'm also very nervous about this re-coloring business. There's a fine line with improving the material for modern printing, paper, etc. and the Neil Adams Batman fiasco.
