Odd DC maths - the only books to get deluxes so far have been selling over 32k a month on average. The cancelled ones were obviously expected to, but then didnt.
Which is understandable, just a shame with such high profile characters
That and X-Factor are the two David series I have never read but I hope to getting down to it some day. Heck, I only just read his Aquaman stuff this year.
Its one of those where I fell in love in the middle of issue 1.

...and they've all been twice-monthly. Titans (and even Teen Titans, I think) has been selling a fair bit better than some of the titles getting deluxes, but it doesn't look like it'll get one.

We are on our way to a Silver Age Batgirl Omnibus, Adam Strange has one, Bronze Age Swamp Thing has been published, a second Silver Age Supergirl may come out... I wonder why Silver and Bronze Age Superman has no big books? That and a Golden Age Captain Marvel Omnibus seem like no-brainers.

For those who are getting rebirth trades, anyone else having trouble deciding between paperbacks and deluxe editions? I started collecting paperbacks when they started releasing but the deluxe editions look so tempting.

I got all Rebirth trades up to now and I will not exchange these for the Deluxe HCs. Yes, the Deluxe HC look good and the price is good for the amount of collected single issues, but I prefer reading trade paperbacks. These are released earlier and they usually don't get cancelled so fast until all single issues are collected. But I do buy the HC editions of the "events" and "crossovers" such as "Night Of The Monster Men", "Superman Reborn", "JL vs Suicide Squad" or the "Trinity" and "All-Star Batman" series because I can't wait for the eventually later released trade paperbacks. Still don't understand, why these are released as standard size HC at first and "DC Universe Rebirth" and "Batman/Flash: The Button" are Deluxe HC.

I've bought some of the deluxe editions to check them out. They are great quality. I have a lot of other stuff to read so I dont worry about keeping more up to date and buying the trades. I think I will eventually check out some trades for stuff that isn't getting released on deluxes. Green Lantern, Aquaman etc Reading trades is my preferred format if I read in bed.

I absolutely love the deluxe editions that DC is putting out. I wish Marvel would do the same thing with their books.
-
I know Marvel did it with All New X-Men that featured the classic original X-Men in the future.
There are about five books in the series with a few books missing that got collected in other trades
because of being part of a crossover. Also Thor (Jane) got 2 trades for her first run of 8 issues and an annual
that was collected in a deluxe hard cover. and than there is the recent Spider-Gwen that got a deluxe book
collecting a few trades.

Word is that they're working and collecting Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman in publication order. So we'll get to the silver age of their stories once the golden age collections are done
-
I only have the Wonder Woman Rebirth dlx HC, but its pretty sweet. They sure do take forever to be released though.
I'll only get HC stories that I love or feel deserve a more prestige format. I wouldn't mind trading in my Watchmen TPB for a HC or Absolute editor, for example.

They do!
Waids Daredevil, Fraction/Lemires Hawkeye, Bendis' X-Men & Iron Man, Aarons Thor & Dr Strange, Coates Black Panther, Hickmans Avengers, just off the top of my head.

Side question: getting into Aquaman rebirth, would I need to check out the last few issues of the N52 Aquaman run? I know it was good, but just wondering if it was needed

And so dont have enough issues to get one. If they get solicited for deluxes in the next catalogue, then the theory will hold and it'll potentially be possible to predict what DC will give a deluxe to in as far as on going series' and lines they have to reach (or not fall under)

The deluxes have been solicited alongside the 3rd trade. Titans in particular has a 3rd trade solicited, but no hardcover.
