Help!
I have Green Lantern v6: The Life Equation (haven't read it yet). I understand the GL: Godhewd HC collects a few issues from this book as well as some one shots and other issues from the GL family of books. Do I need to get and read Godhead in order to know what's going on in The Life Equation?
Thanks fellas (and ladies).
I have a €35 pre-order on Amazon.de. But if you want a good indication check out the prices of the Swamp Thing deluxe as that's the same in RRP and format etc.
Cheers, only DC hardcover I have is the Moench/Jones Batman, probably time to change that ha ha.

Warlord. Surely Dc could sell a few thousand copies of Warlord deluxe collections.

Ok so batman vol 7 hc does not have the joker backup issues.
They are in the joker endgame hc. First the solicitations said it has the endgame tie ins batman annual 3 and the back ups from 35-39 at 170 pages for 25$. Now some of them have been updated saying it has all of the full issues of batman 35-40 for 30$ at 317 pages. And now that its up on ist its back to the original solicitation but with the updated page count for 30$. Which is also the price of the death of the family and night of owls tie in hcs. So the question does it actually have 35-40 which is all of the vol 7 trade. Id have to say it definitely does not. The page count dosnt add up. Vol 7 has 175 and the original solicitation for the tiein trade has about the same. So were missing 40 something pages.
My guess is it just has the endgame tieins annual 3 and the backups and the original solicitation had the wrong pagecount. If I remember right the backup story was a bit longer than the usual backups. Plus I cant see Dc doing that there would be no point in releasing vol 7 when you could spend 5 more bucks and get 5 more issues plus backups.
Just ordered it anyways ill update in about a week when it comes.

If you're talking about the old Grell stuff, well, I doubt it. As great as it is, it's also pretty much long forgotten.

I have the Batman vol. 7 and it doesn't have the back ups like you say. Honestly pretty lame considering in the court of owls story and zero year they collected the back ups in the main volume.

I'd really, really mad about this, but frankly the Endgame backups were the weakest part of the entire series since Flashpoint.

I know. My copy came today and was very disappointed. I haven't read either yet but the backups sound more interesting to me than endgame.

That's bs. No back ups? Or annual? I don't want the Joker Endgame because the tie ins aren't integral to the main story and are actually better read in the actual series they ran in.meh pointless. You know the rest of the run will hopefully be absoluted. Next absolute would be what? Issues 12-21? Then Zero year and for the next volume endgame and Gordon batman. Bah...makes too much sense DC would never do that considering how horrendous most of their collections are. Awesome books nonetheless but could be so much better if done properly and had someone competent putting them together. Anyone here could do a damn better job then their head of collections.

They're looking to get people to dip on both Endgame books. It's patently obvious. It's not just idiocy by the people putting together the trades. It's a very deliberate move. I also don't think there's a guarantee the rest of Snyder's run gets Absoluted. I wouldn't be surprised to see Death of the Family and Zero Year and maybe Endgame in Absolute Editions, but that's going to be several years down the line. And then people will complain when stuff from Graveyard Shift is orphaned in Absolute format. It'll never be a winning situation for consumers, and a lot of that is by design.

I thought the court of owls absolute only collects vol 1? Which is like 1-7. Don't think it has 1-11.

"The explosive “Court of Owls” storyline gets the Absolute Edition treatment, collecting BATMAN #1-11! It all begins when a series of brutal murders rocks not only Gotham City to its core but also the Caped Crusader himself when the prime suspect is one of Batman’s closest allies – Dick Grayson! After a series of deadly discoveries, Bruce Wayne has learned that the Court of Owls is real — and a deadly threat out to control Gotham City!"
That may mean they're leaving out BATMAN ANNUAL #1, but in retrospect I don't recall it adding a ton to the story, plus they shat all over the Dini-classic Freeze backstory.

I'm talking more about items like the Legends Batman series by specific artists that omit issues and NTT omnibus 3. There's way more but everyone gets the idea. DC is horrendous in their collections.

I dunno. The Showcase volume I had sold for a decent margin above cover on eBay (I have the complete series in issues). A deluxe hardcover series, no. But, a 250-300 page series of trades, maybe.
Marvel is releasing some old, odd but wonderful choices in color trades. So, Warlord shouldn't be a stretch, as far as content goes.

Correctamundo. All very deliberate and calculated.
I will custom bind Snyder's run...and so I'll be able to add Eternal and Graveyard Shift and etc and so that's the only way I see to get a winning situation as far as trades for Snyder's run.
