I'm glad DC is doing the Waid/Flash TPBs but I'm waiting (hoping) and holding out for an Omni run of that material.
I too am, and have been, avoiding doing the double dip.

So small question. I've been thinking about getting that big Zatanna series by Paul Dini that's coming up, but I already have the 12 issues from a previous trade. If I wanted to sell the other trades, any go to place?
I have looked and there are not that many places to get a fair amount for your trades. Selling them yourself on ebay or amazon would probably get you the most profit. Or your local comic shop would probably give you some credit. That's what I do with the tpb's that I try and don't care for or trades that I replace with better editions.
By the way, what is the Zatanna book that you are talking about? I hadn't noticed one.

Its coming out soon. I wouldn't care if it was the same 16 issues, but it has some bonus material not collected elsewhere. I'm going to have a similar situation when there is the new Batwoman trade coming soon, collecting the 3(?l) issues after Elegy.
C'mon guys, if the trades don't sell, they'll never make a Waid Omni.

YES! I am 100% buying these trades. If an omni gets announced (we can only hope) I'll sell the trades or give them to a family member and buy the omni!

I'm quite content with the trades. I cannot wait to read them. Its a shame the base of fans who purchase comics in these formats is so small.
Based on this logic, Marvel would have reprinted it's first two (or three) Brubaker Captain America omnibus collections.
I don't expect an Annihilation reprint but I do think they'll reprint the material in tpb form, which is the pattern Marvel has been on at this point.
That said, Marvel did reprint Howard the Duck, so who knows.
Yes, I believe Marvel will go the route of TPBs for Annihilation although one needs to remember that the Annihilation Omni did sell out fairly quickly so who knows.
I think Marvel reprinted the Howard the Duck Omni as it had been OOP for quite some time and they decided to ride the gimmick waves of that GotG credits scene. Also, there is only one Howard Omni whereas there's quite a few Cap Omnis so they probably thought people would want to grab the former although hardly anyone wanted it.
Regarding reprints, I would agree with Flicker Fade that DC are way better at keeping an Omni in print by "sneaking" in reprints. However, I would like to see the Infinte Crisis Omni reprinted but that's not going to happen any time soon due to the upcoming Absolute and following that they'll probably release it in TPBs.
They reprinted the Daredevil and Elektra omni's when both seasons began for the show. The difference with the Captain America stuff is there's 5 omnibi for that run, so it's unlikely to get reprints anytime soon.

I know, without high sales we'll never get anything else.
Bllllaaaahhh I'll probably end up ordering it too. This is gonna be a big week

I get what you're saying. DC should know, KNOW, the interest is there for an Omni.
I only have so much space and money & I'm much, much more reluctant to lose money on the flip now than I was 10years ago.
Doubt I'm the only one with that mindset based on a few other responses already.

I'm with you. A Waid Flash omnibus would be an instant pre-order for me. DC will publish it eventually. In the meantime, there are so many omnis and other over-sized hardcover collections for me to buy, read, and display on my shelves.
And don't pb trades generally sell better than hc omni editions anyway? That's why a lot of LCS's don't even carry hc omnis. I feel like most people who want to read the Waid run will just buy this new trade. They'll make their money.

A small fan base for tpbs or omnis?
I'd argue there's a pretty big fan base - or at least purchase base - for tpbs.
The omnibus collections are definitely a niche market.

For Omni's I mean. I know trades are pretty big, but I see a lot of Omni's are kind of hit or miss. Then again it could be because the first volumes are OOP while the second is in stock, so who knows.
