Batgirl and the Birds of Prey - not great, gets a bit better after the first arc.
Nightwing - volume 1 is a bit of a retread if you were a fan of Grayson, but it gets good when he reaches bludhaven
Hellblazer - a dumpster fire don't go anywhere near it
Suicide Squad - pre- JLvSS its great fun, the arc after JLvSS was pretty bad but its starting to pick up again.
Appreciate the honest, well thought out feedback. Shame about Hellblazer though. Grayson just wasn't my choice for dinner, so maybe I'll pass on that.
Is SS overly HQ centered? I loathe the character and her ongoing series, but didnt mind her in the first N52 SS iteration.

They need to give up and bring Hellblazer back to Vertigo and put a big UK talent, ideally it should be Ennis to save it, but just get it away from DCU and let it be its own thing again.

It looks like Vertigo is slimming down on titles. Maybe Young Animal?

If you didn't enjoy Grayson pick up Nightwing vol 1, people who didn't read or didn't enjoy Grayson seemed to have a better opinion of volume 1.
Harley definitely takes a decent chunk of the spotlight in SS but its not the same Harley as her solo series much more in line with the New52 SS Harley

Good to know. Grayson just didnt appeal to me for whatever reason. I can't put my finger on why. Make Janin on art was always a huge appeal, I was just never drawn in

That may work, but something needs to be done about how bad it has been since New 52. Really should pull the plug on the book give it a rest and try to relaunch it under Vertigo or Young Animal, but they need to relaunch it with an Ellis, Ennis, maybe more Milligan. After what 3 or 4 failed series now they still do not get it.

Its sad because its the only main title that involves magic. There are lines of it elsewhere, like Doctor Fate in Blue Beetle.
Is it really necessary to have all the collected edition solicts AND then the cover images all as separate posts? Can't we have it all in one neat post? You can post them all on an Imgur album and link it. It just kind of seems like clutter every month
I like and appreciate the way raffi lists the new books. Saves me time from having to find them somewhere else.
Well I hope we'll finally get Titans: The Rebirth Deluxe Edition Book 1 in October solicited. Can't wait for that art in Deluxe format. They solicited pretty much all HC/Deluxe from previews aside from Green Arrow: The Rebirth Deluxe Edition Book 1 (Rebirth) HC, wchich will presumably come in October. Or did I missed anything?
If there is one, I'd say it will be next year before a Titans: Rebirth deluxe edition is released. All the DEs so far are set to be released on or after the release date of the series' 3rd trade, which would be early next year for Titans.

Scott Snyder recently said in an interview he's expecting to bring back American Vampire to coincide with an upcoming "relaunch" of Vertigo. What that relaunch will look like, I have no idea, but theres apparently an effort to boost the visibility of the brand coming up.

Just restart it with issue 301 with a decent writer. If only

Yes it should go back to 301 and ignore the multiple failed series, but as this point I do not think a decent writer can repair the distaste left in fans mouth. I think they really need to get a top notch writer or a classic, but least they have years and years of good Hellblazer to read and ignore the new stuff.

Interesting. I am curious what they have in store. Of course, they also teased the revival of Milestorm years ago and its been in limbo.

The problem with Hellblazer is noone was buying the dammd thing while it was at Vertigo
Issue 297 sold ~9k
Issue 298 sold ~9k
Issue 299 sold ~9k
Issue 300 sold ~12k
The DC You series sold ~16k for its final issue,
The nonsense they are pushing out for Rebirth sold ~18k for the most issue we have sale data on.
Over at Vertigo:
Astro City is selling 9k
Everafter (fables spin off) is selling 2k
Lucifer is selling 6.5k
Savage Things is selling 5k
Going back to vertigo would probably kill the book entirely, and the thought of just giving the book back to someone who had a good run on 15/20 years ago to try and recapture the magic dosn't sit well with me, I'd rather they just found a fresh voice (China Mieville would be a good shout I think) and loosend the editorial reins a little. They are handing the book over to Tim Seeley (Revival and Hack/Slash) with issue 13 so it could start picking up.

Mieville did a story in issue 250 would not mind seeing him get a shot. I try every time they shift writers and thus far has not been good, but they are trying as they keep rebooting. Rebirth is the 3rd attempt to get it up and running hopefully someone can.
