How hard is it to just hire someone? It would be one thing if Trump appointed yet another horrible person to run the HIV/AIDS strategy, but he HASN'T EVEN APPOINTED ANYONE!
Considering FEMA & NOAA are still vacant, and there's still a lot of internal turnover in the staff (Sean Spicer might be the next casualty), Trump ain't got time for health sciences because they get in the way of his late night Twitter wars & visits to his many golf courses.
But hey, Hillary and her dreaded emails were the far greater threat to the republic than Mango Mussolini who's putting his valuable time as president to good use, namely crowing about how great he is, bitching about being under investigation and swindling the American people (including his dumber than dirt followers) out of a king's ransom. MAGA, baby! MAGA!
Aren't there quite a few ambassadorships and District attorneys in the Justice department that haven't been filled yet?
This is why everyone scratched their heads over Trump's transition team getting rid of them so quickly. It's not unusual for some to stay on into the next administration so that they can have an orderly transition period. But noooooo.....they gave them all their walking papers.

One theory was that they did it as cover for firing Preet Bharara. If you fire a whole mess of AGs, they [Trump and his advisors] probably figured no one would realize that the goal was to remove the one who was getting too close to investigating Trump's finances.
It didn't work and just ended up creating an even bigger mess.

There's a lot of positions still left open. I think Washington Post had a good article and list on what was still left vacant. Spoilers, way tooooo many spots empty.
Donald Trump - Chaos President

That makes a lot of sense. I wonder if anyone in a lower rank is still working on that investigation or its just sitting dormant.

What are you doing up?

In this day and age of connectivity and rapid dissemination of information, doesn't it seem pointless fro Spicer to hold 'No audio, No video' briefings?

Japan and Navy for starters. Having them in place would've averted the Fitzgerald accident because we would've known about the shipping lane change.
7 sailors dead ... all on Trump's hands because his pride is more important than the country.
“The stack of press reports gets higher every day regarding financial connections between Trump associates and Russia, and Trump's own business dealings with Russian interests,” said Wyden, an Oregon Democrat who sits on the Senate Intelligence committee. “This morning, Treasury briefed me on documents that are being transmitted to the Senate. I believe these documents will be sufficient to start following the money.”
The Treasury provided the trove of documents after a weeks-long standoff during which Wyden placed a hold on Trump’s nomination of New York attorney Sigal Mandelker to head the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, or FinCEN. The Senate advanced her nomination on Tuesday shortly after a deal was reached.

“I have stated repeatedly that we have to follow the money if we are going to get to the bottom of how Russia has attacked our democracy,” Wyden said in May. “That means thoroughly review any information that relates to financial connections between Russia and President Trump and his associates, whether direct or laundered through hidden or illicit transactions. The office which Mandelker has been nominated to head is responsible for much of this information.”
A spokesman for FinCen declined to comment, citing a policy “to never confirm or deny or comment on any investigations.”
I bet that the GOP will brush that off because EMAILS! We have to lock up Hillary!

Probably one of the most laughably ridiculous posts on here. Ever hear of (tremendously experienced) Acting heads of departments? And what day to day things do you think these people do?

Here's the dude running for Paul Ryan's seat next year. I don't live in Wisconsin, so I don't vote there...but I like this dude.

I'm glad my hyperbole made you laugh.
Yours makes me laugh, too.
And yes I'm familiar with acting heads. The Chargé d'Affaires right now, Hyland, did not take meetings with Japan till 3/22/17 because he received no direction or indication from the current admin for starters.
And I am not the only one to point this out.
