Of course not, WPP. They're actually readable.
By the by, while I'm not a parent, there's nothing that would scare me more than an over-worked, stressed-out teacher having to use a firearm in a highly-stressful situation like a school shooting in an enclosed space like a classroom or a hallway. Like, what happens if the teacher fires, misses, and the ricochet strikes and kills a student? Fixed target shooting isn't in the goddamn galaxy as live-fire stress shooting and anyone claiming otherwise is a delusional.
Which was worse: The suggestion of arming teachers or the suggestion of funneling armed veterans into schools as guards?

It's a toss-up. I mean, how often have the perpetrators of mass shooting turned out to be embittered veterans?

Back in the '70s and '80s, it seemed like it was every other week on television. ;)
No one law will solve everything. The problem is too big to solve all in one shot. But we have to start somewhere.
Actually one law will. Ban guns. Works for every single country that does it. There's actually nearly 200 countries that don't have this problem. Merely saying we'll copy what one of them do would solve everything. It's actually pretty black and white. It's not a complicated problem. We are the anomaly. We know what makes this country different.
Bump stocks would do less than nothing. They were just a convenient talking point after the Las Vegas shooting. Only half of his guns were outfitted with bumpstocks. Focusing on bump stocks is one of the biggest wastes of time. If you pass a law banning bump stocks right now we're still talking about another shooting in like 2 weeks. And then another one a week or so later.

Not exactly a shocker.
Let's not forget; if this gets traction, it will just serve as an excuse for Republicans to blame unarmed teachers when another shooting happens. The right will essentially expect teachers to act as an ad hoc police force.
The very idea of there being an additional armed party is flawed enough.
The idea that it should be a teacher you train versus just adding a professional security person to the payroll? You should bet a smack across the back of the head for that sort of stupidity.

In order to ban guns, we would have to repeal the 2nd Amendment. That would take quite a while to get done. What do we do in the meantime?

While addressing bump stocks probably won't make any huge difference, there is no reason not to address them. They are not something that sits on some fence.

I think I recall WBE profiling Claudia Tenney once, but this might push her to the front of the queue.

plus, just because you ban something, it doesn't stop people from getting them. we banned a bunch of drugs. people still find ways to use them.
that's why i'm for gun control of some level that works with the nation.

That's a tricky question. Even if it were possible, outright banning guns would likely spur a second Civil War. Anything short of banning guns would likely have tepid results as far as decreasing violence goes.

Do what Australia does for instance. Takes 8-10 months to be able to get a gun. You need to prove you have a reason to get acquire a gun and which type you want. You need to buy a secure lock box which is either bolted to the ground OR over a certain amount of weight that will be inspected. You need letters of recommendation and from medical professionals saying you are fit to carry a gun. You need to take a class and pass a written test. You need to list what gun you intend to buy before hand. You can only ever be permitted to buy those certain types of guns. If you lose or have your gun stolen your license is revoked.
You either need to ban guns or have a process like that in place.

Drugs are illegal in most other countries as well. People still do drugs in those countries. Guess what? Those countries don't have massive gun violence issues.
Just like there's no shortage of mental health issues in other countries. But they don't have a gun problem.
Just like they consume the same violent media we do, but don't have a gun problem.

Maaaaaaaaaaaannnnn... WHEW. One PTSD incident that ends up with injured/dead kids and you'll be able to see the firestorm from space.

but it's such a complex situation that saying "ban guns" won't stop the problem. if anything, it will make it worse.
