I've also seen that most of bashing is superficial, for the most part, or its about someone's favorite character not being part of the focus.
I just find it cool that, unlike a lot of the comics, Xavier and Magneto are the focus of most of the X-Men movies
And Wolverine.
I really don't like being that guy but is there any way you can back up what you were saying?
After all you are basically confirming that Laura would be in this movie which is information that we don't have currently. We are currently only speculating here and I would prefer to not get trolled on stuff like this.
I typically would have no problem showing how I know this, but since I have my picture on my profile it can get dicey and I don't want to get sued. I am a talent agent so I see a ton of stuff before the general public. They sides used for the role in the X23 breakdown were sides/pages from Rogue and Wolverine's scene in the car from XMen 1. But both characters were renamed.
The direction of the character was that she was feral and had no personal skills and was insanely skilled in gymnastics/combat/etc. I would post it, but I am nervous to do so. It all went down in January like the post on page 4 talks about. They were trying to find someone 18 plus to play 14-16 so they are going for a younger Laura.
That is all I know about it, but I do know the role was cast.
They are currently casting the rest of the roles in the film under a different dummy name. Everyone auditioning and submitting have to sign confidentiality agreements so I can't post the breakdown. Sorry.

Fair enough. I can obviously understand that you don't want to get yourself in trouble over the thing that you are earning your money with.
While I still have to take it with a grain of salt your input is still very appreciated and insightful. Thank you very much for sharing :)

Ultimately it's all just speculation until we get an official announcement. However I would imagine if the role was cast in January we'd have already heard about it. UNLESS the actress cast in January isn't the "main" actress, and is either a stand-in/double, or playing a younger version of the character than the "main."

This could be pretty awesome. Seeing Old Man Logan and Laura side by side, in a parallel of the Logan-Rogue relationship from the original X-men films could be cool. And really interesting timing considering the fact that Laura is now Wolverine in the comics and Old Man Logan is running around with the X-men too, especially since I seriously doubt Marvel had any clue this was coming (assuming these rumors are true) and was probably trying to make the books different from the films as opposed to more similar (as a FU to FOX).

I have actually been wondering about that and I actually think they do know about stuff like this in advance. Fox may own the movie rights but Marvel is still the property owner. They are very likely informed about everything Fox has planned.
Besides the Old Man Logan and All-New Wolverine stuff they decide out of all these years to collect all the X-23 stories in two big books this year. So when the movie is getting closer to release and people think about seeing what X-23 is about for themselves Marvel can quite conveniently present them the books with everything. Just a coincidence? Maybe or maybe not...
I mean let's be honest here Deadpool being everywhere is no coincidence as is Apocalypse Wars.
Laura's resemblance to Sarah Kinney is a coincidence in genetic terms. I kind of subscribed to the theory that maybe Sarah used some of her own DNA to "fix" the broken parts of Logan's DNA sample as it would explain some things, but I recently got a chance to talk to X-23's creator, Craig Kyle, and he explained that Sarah did not do that and that Laura is "all Logan" in terms of genetic heritage. So until such a time that Marvel explicitly retcons this, Laura does not get her looks from her mother. I posted a bit more in detail about it here if anyone's interested.
I've gotta say, that post is EXACTLY why I stopped following Kinney Pride and their website.

Am I the only one who thought Laura was Native Canadian in Evolution (and that it was awesome) ?

No news yet on X-23, but Richard Grant has been cast as a "mad scientist." Sinister? Cornelius or someone else from Weapon X? Sutter or Harkins from the Facility?

Interesting. I'm thinking that perhaps we will see X-23 and the Facility, and this guy is the head scientist there. Or I suppose he could be playing Sinister or someone else like Dr. Cornelius. This is apparently set in the future, though, so I don't think it'll be Cornelius. My guess is we'll get a glimpse of a more comic accurate Weapon X in X-men: Apocalypse and maybe some flashbacks to that in this film.

I always thought Adelaide Kane would be an excellent Laura Kinney.

I hope Storm and Yukio will be in this movie

I don't know. She's skewing older than what the rumors seem to be pointing at, and it'd be a bit of a stretch for her to pass as a teenager (again, which the rumors appear to point to).

If Hugh Jackman's hanging up his claws permanently after W3, then here's the sort of basic plot I'd personally like to see in the film:
Xavier (cos we know Patrick Stewart's on board for this film) discovers that a secret lab is attempting to clone Logan using DNA samples gained from (why not) his time in the Weapon X program - as presumably seen in Apocalypse.
He and Logan head off to find this lab and end the experiments. Juxtaposed with this plot, you can have the successful cloning and training of Laura, before she and Wolverine ultimately face off against each other. Xavier takes the opportunity of the fight to enter Laura's mind and try to "rescue" her before Logan is forced to stop her the hard way!
You could incorporate the trigger scent into this, which would help to differentiate Laura from Logan (or at least, their motivations) and be a convenient plot point to explain why Laura would attack him.
Also, you could add in elements of the Target X storyline and have Laura escape and seek out her mother's relatives, with Kimura tailing her. Logan and Xavier show up and, following a trigger scent-inspired fight between him and Laura, they can team up to stop Kimura from killing the family (with help from Charles, seeing as Kimura's impervious to Adamantium).
There's a mind-link between Laura, Logan and Xavier at the climax where all of Laura's past is laid bare and Logan decides to head into the sunset and destroy any of his DNA samples he can find, to prevent anything like this happening again. He says that this is something he has to do alone.
He leaves Laura in Charles' care for both integration into the world and to try to mend her damaged psyche. There could be some poignant speech from Jackman about how Charles did this for him and so he knows that he is the right man to "fix" Laura...
That gives Jackman a decent (in my opinion) way to exit the franchise whilst simultaneously introducing and fleshing out his replacement, as well as her primary antagonist (Kimura). If they made it R-rated, they could go to town with all the trauma associated with Laura's childhood and training as well, which is a massive part of who she is (was) and why she was that way.
I'd personally pay good money to see a movie along those lines!

In any case, I'm happy to move on from Stryker as Wolverine's nemesis.
