That and enough folks are flat out uninformed. Accurate info is but a google search away.
Some people justhink literally don't know what they are talking about.
I recall a few years back hearing thay people were complaining that they "turned" Green Lantern white for the movie.
Google is you friend.
Been reading articles about the Shuri casting and man...there's a good amount of fake news out there in print.
Some gems I've read:
-Shuri hasn't appeared in the post-Secret Wars MU.
-Shuri challenged T'Challa to a fight for the BP mantle, and won.
-T'Challa trained Shuri in case something were to happen to him and a successor was needed (I've read this a lot for a while now, where has this happened? Haven't seen that explanation given in the comics).
So much for doing some research.
The Russians are behind this.
Very cool!
Thank you!
I hope for cool outfits when she is in the film. And some action figures.
Likewise.
So in the comics, who, if anyone, has been a potential love interest/suitor of Shuri?
Shuri had a thing going with a Wakandan dude, but he got killed by a skrull, if I remember correctly.
If W'Kabi was still alive, he would've been my pick for Shuri's LI. Unfortunately, he's still dead despite his cameo in BP #11.
It appears that Shuri and Eden will be hanging out often, so perhaps Coates will get something going there? If it's just a fling, that's fine. However, I def believe she should have a Wakandan love interest due to her political views and because we haven't seen a Wakandan pairing in a very long time.

The tallest guy in the pic is Winston Duke, who plays M'Baku.
Not sure who the others, outside of those you mentioned, are.

Whoa, ppl really said that? Lol...
I can somewhat understand if they were introduced to GL via the Justice League / Justice League cartoons, but still.
That said, it appears both Hal and John wi be in the green latern film, so that's a good look.

Ha!
Updated version of my previous Shuri pic.

Hey RDH, this pic as well as the rest look awesome.
I see you use mainly charcoal. Do you ever just use pencil?

Thanks, glad you like it!
All my drawings are done in pencil, no charcoal. From there, I take a pic of the drawing and edit the brightness, contrast, and--if needed--the shadowing.
I hope to try out charcoal one day, but I love pencils too much lol.

Ahhh, that's why it looks like charcoal. If you don't mind, post a pic before and after the edit. I'd like to seethe difference.
Do you edit so that your dark areas can be darker?
I have a pic of Luke Cage that I did years(decades) ago that was in pen-and-ink. That's a very nice contrast. I'll post it in this thread.

Sure! Here's the pic of the most recent Shuri drawing I did prior to editing:

Love the drawing, but the pic I took doesn't capture it well, imho. Too grainy, among other things. Perhaps it's the camera I'm using (a camera phone lol). I need a better camera.
Thus, I do some editing. Here's the version I posted:

Cleaner and is a better portrayal of the drawing itself.
Do you edit so that your dark areas can be darker?
In some cases, yes. For example, when I try to emulate Stelfreeze or Sprouse's style, I do so, as they use very dark shadows in their BP work.
Doesn't always work, as some pics lose a lot of their charm if its too dark.

Post it!
I did this a long, long time ago. There was an in book ad for Power Man & Iron Fist and I loved this image.

Very nice! Quite a dynamic pic.
Dynamic drawings are still one of my weaknesses to this day. Still can't get a handle on that. I fare better on static drawings instead.
What drawing item did you use for your drawing? Looks like you used a sharpie pen to fill in the darker areas. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks very much.
I did a pencil drawing and then I used Indigo ink to go over the drawing. It's a pretty cool technique.

Ahh, makes sense now.
I should consider doing that, would help a lot in emphasizing the lines in my drawings. Rather that than pushing the limits of the pencil lol.
