Men are more visual then women. The way women sexualize men is different then the way men sexualize women. That’s why the largest population of people who buy playgirl aren’t woman but rather gay men. Naked pictures of men aren’t the direct parrellel of naked women. Trashy romance novels are.
The OP is a man looking for pictures of men. But he's looking for very specific pictures of men.

I always got the impression that some artists put as much effort into making me sexy as women: Adam Hughes, Steve Rude, Mike Allred.
Of course these days, Adam Hughes is almost exclusively covers - and those are almost exclusively of female characters - but back on JLI it seemed pretty even to me.
It's funny. Posting homo-erotic pictures seems progressive and empowering.
But posting cheesecake girls feels more sexist and shameful.
just an observation
After what this forum flipped their $hit over, enough to shut down the whole forum, should this even be a surprise? Not that I am trying to be an jerk to you Kirby/ed. Merely 100% agreeing with your observation.
How about alternate reality Hercules and Wolverine? They were a couple.

I'm not sure if you're talking about the event that happened when Jonah but what shut down the forums mostly dealt with one or possibly two "fans" getting mad at a female CBR columnist and doing things that were outside the forums. Illegal things like hacking a personal account, making death threats, etc

Wuvable Oaf by Ed Luce
- lots of queer characters
- nudity
- not porn
I win. Where's my prize?

And what was done outside this forum wasn't Jonah's responsibility. But what happened, happened. And I will tread lightly now as every time it seems I bring up the past my posts disappear or are edited.
My original point was I agree with Kirby, because it is a double standard here that is unmistakable to observe.
The thing to realize is that both the objectification of women as sexual possessions, and the erasure of gay male sexuality have been tools of the straight male subset of the population to cement their power and strengthen their own egos.
So it's not that "funny" - it's quite logical.
This.

I dunno. ..I still think we could have a cheesecake or cheesecake/beefcake thread as long as it was tasteful. I don't think anyone at cbr is anti sexy women just anti sexist. These are different things.

If the thread was for both cheesecake and beefcake and centered on non-nude covers and panels from comic books, I agree there wouldn't be a problem. In fact, we had something like this before the CBR reboot without controversy.

Is objectifying fictional homosexual men in comics any moral difference than objectifying female heterosexual characters? Both situations to different groups of people can be sexy. But is either situation sexists to others? And if so how is one different from the other?

The post answering that was quoted TWICE on this page of the thread.

I don't recall the name of the thread, but it was pretty huge. I believe it was in the DC Comics forum, so you might have missed it.
