"Thomas Hutter, who wrestles as Ethan Carter III with TNA, suffered a torn biceps and is expected to need surgery. Generally, that type of surgery requires about a six month rehab period.
Carter III has been one of the focal points of TNA's television show and was expected to be pushed as one of the key players if and when a new television deal is put together.
Carter III was scheduled to face Tommy Dreamer in a hardcore match tomorrow night on the House of Hardcore show in Philadelphia."
This isn't as bad as it sounds, they have already taped tv through mid december and spike apprently isn't running the show the last two weeks of december anyway.
Dreamer has already came out and announced Carter can't do the show but is working to get a replacement for him.
honestly i don't know why you care now or for the past year or so, there have always been better things for you to watch if you wanted to. i mean just because TNA was on a channel you get you didn't have to watch it.

TNA personally insults people is my theory. :p

DISCOVERY COMMUNICATIONS ACQUIRES EXCLUSIVE BROADCAST RIGHTS TO TOP PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING LEAGUE, TNA IMPACT WRESTLING, FOR DESTINATION AMERICA
(Silver Spring, Md.) – Discovery Communications announced today that it has signed a multi-year deal with TNA (Total Nonstop Action) IMPACT WRESTLING to bring the popular league to homes nationwide on Destination America, the only network dedicated to celebrating the people, places and stories of the United States.
Destination America officially enters the ring with its first world premiere of IMPACT WRESTLING in January 2015. The series features some of the biggest names in professional wrestling, including Jeff Hardy, Bobby Roode, Kurt Angle, Bobby Lashley and Gail Kim.
The partnership includes the U.S. premieres of additional TNA WRESTLING series and specials and provides Discovery Communications with international broadcasting rights in select regions, to be announced at a later date.
“Our partnership in this uniquely entertaining franchise with TNA IMPACT WRESTLING provides a significant addition to Destination America’s programming strategy,” said Henry Schleiff, Group President of Destination America, Investigation Discovery, American Heroes Channel, Discovery Fit & Health and Discovery Family Channel. “The enduring, cross-generational enthusiasm of pro wrestling is felt by millions of fans around the country, from coast-to-coast and throughout the heartland. We are delighted to bring this beloved American pastime to the one and only network dedicated to celebrating the unique spirit of the U.S., Destination America.”
“Our knockout partnership with TNA IMPACT WRESTLING continues Destination America’s mission of bringing our viewers the best of all-American entertainment, and going center ring with one of the world’s foremost professional wrestling leagues fits perfectly within our DNA,” said Marc Etkind, general manager of Destination America. “Wrestling has created a fiercely loyal, passionate and widespread fan base, and we look forward to being part of the TNA family.”
“We are very excited about Destination America being the new network for IMPACT WRESTLING and the partnership with Discovery Communications both domestically and across the globe. Their commitment to promote and grow our brand in innovative and compelling ways was instrumental in knowing we had found the right home,” said TNA President Dixie Carter. “Together we will create an experience that takes our fans on a new journey that will push the envelope of technology, including where we take our cameras, going deeper into our superstars’ lives and showing the reality of what it takes to create a weekly professional wrestling show, all while showcasing the very best male and female athletes in the world.”

The Discovery networks run a very , very tight ship in a way. Their networks are clearly identified with what they offer. Investigation Discovery , TLC , Discovery , and as this promotes ...they know how to sell each channel. This is something Spike really never had. They were part of Viacom but Spike struggled to build original programming for years. The failures from the new Ren n Stimpy to Blue Mountain State is pretty known.
Yes the network isn't on most cable systems. But like most Discovery networks , give it a couple of years and it will be. Right now I can flip on my Direct TV and watch Destination America and be happy.

Grats TNA, more 200 person audiences but now the tv audience will be 300-400k instead of 1 million.
Though, when they had one million they still couldn't sell ppvs or tickets, so i suppose the only thing they lost is money on the rights deal.

Well back in October we have to remember the company lost a good percentage of the viewers when Suddenlink threw Viacom off their systems. I'd say they will do about 500,000-600,000 viewers for awhile til the channel gets to the level of the others in Discovery's lineup and systems. The one thing is Discovery will advertise them across all their channels. If you watch they will air commercials for their programs on TLC on various networks and other ones as well.
This deal in a couple of years will likely be viewed as a pretty good move.

Well look at tit like this-would TNA be the big dog for this network? Look at Oprah's network-it was dying a low death until Tyler Perry showed up. Also if you are the big fish on the network-why do PPVs? Why not do them live on this network for a few years?
-
i just hope TNA not dying(again) doesn't stop people from giving us constant financial updates on the company. with that said i didn't see much of impact yet but saw a few things i liked. mostly the x-division title match. that was good old fashioned x-division spot fiesta fun. also liked MVP showing a mean streak. hopefully the triple threat is back on the same page.
i really wish they'd stop using dreamer, it's nice that their using him to put over bram but i just can't stand dreamer, and why the helldoes he have the twitter logo on his pants??

I really enjoy Dreamer's character. He's a normal guy. He loses more than he wins. Its always been that way.
-
Lbos right, we barely post about TNA anyway, moving it to a less visable network means we can ignore it entirely.

ditto. tommy is a decent enough worker who likes to put other talent but he's the last person i want to see in the ring right now. now that you mention, i'm tired of the hardcore match every week. they are good for long feuds and end of feuds but every week? that's soured me for them.
-
Would be great if TNA would restart from scratch by them going to Destination America. Not only rebrand but re-start all the storylines and crown new champs.
-
question: Tommy Dreamer is back in TNA? what happened to his own wrestling company??? Tommy dreamer is the one you all are talking about right?

as far as those new york tapings, he never really left.
-
Dreamer still does House of Hardcore shows. He has a Ippv lined up and planned to face ECIII in a Philly street brawl. But due to his injury Dreamer is gonna face someone else.
I plan to watch the Destination America show and see if they change the intro and all. It will be interesting to see who they bring in. I'd look at ROH and try my heart out to get the Briscoe Brothers. I know that is a long shot.

i don't get why you had to wait till it moved to a less visible brand to do that, it's not like people talked about TNA constantly when they were on spike, aside from marvel2 of course.
how i think you really feel about TNA not dying

don't worry though, eventually they will go down and you can say you called it.

i can see that, but otoh at least they're giving bram something.

idk if that's a good idea or not, but i think it would suck as they've probably put together their longest streak of quality TV in their history. to hit reset on the last 4-5 months would be harsh.

i'm not a fan of the briscoes myself so i hope it doesn't happen, i'll let somebody else tell you how/why the briscoes would never do that and why they're better off in RoH, why low ki will NEVER go back to TNA etc.

I kind of figured TNA had found a network they weren't really acting like they were going anywhere hiring new people and all. The channel they're going to be on seems a lot like Spike anyway when I turned to it. They were showing world's craziest drivers or something lol.
Kinda mad I missed the ep when Lashley went crazy. But I liked MVP was getting back to being a physical heel again sounds like Lashley is even learning to use his voice better. "Roooode! Rooode!LOL.
